I bricked my tab S 10.5. cleaned everything out because I have back up but back up file did not work...cant get in to TWRP Please helppppppps.

1. Go into download mode by holding volume down, home and power.
2. Download Odin 309 on your PC.
3. Download stock firmware for your device. There a few thread for mirrors.
4. Plug tab into PC and open Odin.
5. Hit the pda or Ap tab and pick the firmware
6. Hit start.
7. It should start flashing stock firmware and reboot.
8. Done.

May I ask what country did you get your tablet?

USA

Then cellar south would be the firmware you use. Be sure to pick the right model!

[Help] SM-T217S Won't Boot

I installed Chainfire 3d and not reading that its not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 i installed it now I'm stuck on the boot. Im also using a mac for any tutorial how to fix this thank you.
I did the same with a different Rom . What I did was to force the tab3 into Odin by holding the power, volume down, and the home button until it went into Odin. From there I just installed TWRP Recovery and rebooted. Then I had to install a ROM designed for tab3 , and all was well! Daniel Smith1953

Root status for Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2

Hi. I'm picking up a Galaxy Pro 12.2 tomorrow after being seriously impressed with the build quality and screen size.
However, after browsing my favourite forum (XDA!) I see that there is little or no development on the 12.2 version.
Couple of questions -
Anybody figured a root method for the 12.2 yet?
I'm assuming that each individual tablet can't use each others ROMs? (e.g 12.2 can't use an 8.4 ROM)
Thanks in advance.
BTW - if anyone wants a fantastic wallpaper and is interested in anything PS4 check out the new Photo Mode screenshot thread on Neogaf. There are some stunning images there. I'm on my tablet just now and don't have access to a link. Sorry!

Chainfire has an auto root method for the tablet on his website... If your looking for development it's probably not the tablet to go with, these aren't as popular with the modding community. And truthfully with root and mods it's really unneeded IMO.

His website has root for the Note Pro, not the Tab. Everyone is making this mistake, confusing the SMP-900 with the SMT-900.
Same difference I'm sure. You'll just need someone with balls to try it out.

I can confirm that the CF Root linked in the article works flawlessly on 12.2 Wifi. Just make sure you use Odin 3.09 and you should be fine.

Not sure why your's didn't work. I just downloaded Odin and put the Wifi variant of the tar.md5 in the AP field, waited on Odin finding it and clicked "Start".
The only thing I will say is that the reboot after the initial flashing takes longer than normal. You just get a black screen. So long, in fact, that I was just about to unplug the tablet then the screen flashed up, doing it's thing. You have to wait until its completely done before unplugging and rebooting.
The link I followed was the one in the CF Root thread in the Galaxy Note 12.2 forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656551
Looking back, I just realised I've been a total noob and confused the Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro. All I can say is that the Wifi variant of the tar.md5 linked in the post above does indeed root the Galaxy Pro Tab 12.2. I'm running Xposed and Wanam fine just now.
Are the two devices so similiar?

I can confirm this approach worked for me as well to root my Tab Pro 12.2.
I did have a bit of a scare initially with Odin 3.09 where I soft bricked the tablet and had to download a stock rom to flash via Odin to correct the issue.
However it did subsequently work using Odin 3.07 using the Note Pro 12.2 CF Auto root file.
Nope-not happening. Freezes at cache.img, screen goes to colored hash, and it soft bricks. So I guess I'm out of the picture. Wish I never bought the damn thing.

Which Rom are you using? I'm using the BTU firmware after flashing it from a USA version, and have just got the same error. "Knox Void 1 " as well though.

Same ROM as you-it's the only one I could find. I just reflashed it again. I don't think root is gonna happen, no matter what anyone says. My situation is identical to what you just described.
Wish Chainfire could jump in with a comment.
I quit, before this thing gets hard bricked (or sledgehammered).

I did download a later firmware version that what was on the device to undo the soft brick. This is the version I updated to: T900XXUANB6_T900SEKANC1_SEK.
Then I was able to flash the Note 12.2 CF Autoroot successfully.
Not sure if it was the newer firmware version or using Odin 3.07 instead of Odin 3.09 which I used when I soft bricked it, but its definitely rooted now and working well.
The only rom I could find was this: T900XXUANB5_T900OXAANB5_HOME.tar.md5. I couldn't find a U.S. XAR anywhere. If there's one around, I can't find it. I reflashed this rom with Odin 3.07 and it still soft bricked. I think it's headed to greedbay, I give up.
And everyone is still confusing SMP with SMT. Chainfire now has a SMT-905 on his site, but no SMT-900.

Cheers for that. Downloading that now...
dorpmuller. this flash file is definitely on the sammobile site. You need to register first, log in, click firmware.. Scroll down and put t900 in the search box half way down on the left.. First firmware thats listed.. It is for the the Ukraine (CSC) but hopefully will work fine.. I'll let you know in about 2 hours (I'm too tight to pay for a premium downlaod).
Might even upload it to Mega afterwards.
Confirmed working perfect. Downlaoded the above file, then rooted the T900 with the P900 chainfire root file..
A happy bunny.. I'm uploading the file to mega if anyone wants a nippier download.
OK, I finally got it-forgetting the most elementary mistake! I was using an aftermarket USB cable. I put the device in dl mode, cleared the cache, restarted into dl again, and used a Samsung USB 2.0 cable that came with one of my other tabs. Rooted in 30 seconds. Boy do I feel like an idiot!!
I did go get the aforementioned B6 rom just in case, but the b5 I had reflashed it with worked fine so I left well alone.
My humble thanks to everybody for puttin' up with me!
Oh, yeah... I used Odin 3.07 BTW
Rich
Now I'm confused. After reading dorpmullers reply, I flashed the tab back to the B5 BTU firmware again.. Bloody thing rooted 1st time.
Any ideas why it wouldn't route the first time round (tried around 10 times). Flashed B6 then back to B5.. Routed 1st time... Grr.
I had tried several firmwares (B5's) prior. Same lead, same laptop, etc.
Figured out proper procedure:
#1 If you're soft bricked flash any full stock recovery image. If you're functional go to next step.
#2 After done rebooting, reboot to stock recovery by holding Power + Volume Up and releasing power upon seeing the Samsung splash screen.
#3 Wipe cache using stock recovery.
#4 Reboot into download mode by holding Power + Volume Down, press Up when told to do so
#5 Use EITHER Odin 3.07 OR 3.09 to flash CF-Auto-Root package for SM-P900, yes, the image for the NOTE PRO will root the TAB PRO
#6 Patiently wait for reboot.
#7 Profit.

Yes you can flash custom roms without a pc using "Mobile Odin".
You can get Mobile Odin at the playstore at this link below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro
Be sure to read the full description of Mobile Odin,
it also contains the full instructions how to use it.
Good luck!

rooting pro 8.4

Hi,
Im having real trouble trying to root my galaxy tab pro 8.4. I just cant get odin to see the tablet or my friends note 3. I have done everything the tutorials say. but not. It doesnt go blue so i cant flash.
I have rooted before but went back to normal rom from sammobile. I would like to root again but just get odin to work. Can anyone help or is there another way to do it.
Thanks
Try another cord? Another computer? Do you have drivers installed? Does your computer recognize your tablet - can you see what is on your internal/external drives?
Tried another cord and computer but yes the pc can see the what's on it etc

What version of Odin are you using? Try re-downloading Odin? Are you running Odin as administrator (right click on Odin icon and select run as administrator)
Tried them all and nothing. Just won't see my galaxy pro tab or note 3.yes right admit.

Did you install Kies 3?
However, you have to close Kies before running Odin.
I have installed kids, and un installed it as I read they conflict
Sent from my SM-T320 using XDA Free mobile app
They don't conflict. I rooted my Tab Pro 8.4 with Odin 3.09 while having Kies 3 installed. Maybe when you uninstalled Kies it uninstalled the drivers, too?
I'd reinstall Kies and then reboot. Then try again with Odin.
Cheers, tried all that sees nothing. When the tab is on in odin it shows as com 5 as soon as I put it in recovery mode, nothing. Very odd. Really want to put a custom rom on as I hate touch wiz

Just wanted to throw my hat into the ring here - I'm having the exact same problem with a Tab 10.1.
I've tried everything the OP mentions with no success. It just simply seems that Odin (3.7, 3.9. 3.10) is incapable of seeing the tablet on ADB, even though it sees it instantly in normal boot.
