I had installed TWRP on Redmi 1S (while running on stock MIUI ROM) and I installed CM11 ROM. It is running fine.
My question is
How do I upgrade the TWRP with latest version?
How to I change the TWRP to CWM (or vice-versa)?
Does CyanogenMod has its own Recovery? If yes, how to get that on my device?
1.Simply download the twrp app & install recovery or download latest twrp recovery from it's official site then install it using fastboot ( Don't use Latest version it has bugs )
2.Flash CWM or any recovery using fastboot
3.Cm recovery is not available for redmi

Hey EveryOne...
I've SG Note2 n7100 was on stock and updated to 4.3, I just wanted to install any custom ROM so I tried to flash recovery from this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531965, It says, just install recovery and flash whatever rom you want, so I successfully flash Phillz recovery, and backup of my stock ROM, after backup I just wipe all data to install a new rom after that I tried to flash a ROM probam_kk_1.2.5_d800 during flashing status 7 error occur, so i just go back to wipe all data, and restore my rom, but after restoring I am on bootscreen and nothing.
What should I do?
I am downloading latest firmware from Sammobile and there is a tutorial says it can be flash via Odin, so could this will help me?
Or I just download any other Rom and give it a try?
PS.. the device was not rooted, was on Pure Stock..
Sorry for my English..
and Thanks for your cooperation.. :fingers-crossed:
Status 7 is usually when you are using an older version of recovery. Which version of phils are you on? You probably just need to update that while you are flashing a recent rom

If your flashing omni rom I think you need the latest version of phils or the latest version of twrp. I had the same issue on my galaxy tab 2 with omni. Updated to latest twrp and it flashed no problem.

Thanks for your cooperation kind Sir..
I heard that latest version of philz will get you into the bootloop, and majority on this forum said that philz 5.00.5 is the best recovery that don't take you to the bootloop, and also I've backup my stock rom in philz recovery if I flashed newer recovery will I be able to restore my stock rom?
Or can I leave all this and just go for the flash stock Rom via odin? Will this help?

I think the later versions of phils recovery can have issues with aroma which Omni doesn't use. If it were me I'd flash the latest twrp and install Omni with that as the Omni team use twrp for there ota's. You can flash twrp through phils recovey and vice versa. If you want to restore your back up just flash back to phils first or do a new back up with twrp

Thank you again for your time. :highfive:
Hi folks.
I just installed the KitKat 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20140116 from Novafusion on my GIO S5660.
Now I see "Cryanogenmod" in the lower display and a rotating arrow around a symbol for hours.
Is that normal or did something go wrong.
I had the mobile rooted and px-cwm-v2 installed, cleared cache and dalvik prior to ROM installation.
Installation was done via px-cwm-v2 in recovery mode.
Any suggestion appreciated.
You need to use the latest CWM for KitKat.
I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...dvanced Edition / PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1
You will have to flash back to stock and root, because to install PhilZ you need to do it through Terminal Emulator. You could also try the latest MMB CWM which can be flashed through CWM (but I'm bit sure if it will flash KitKat properly).

For recent cm11 roms released in Aug 2014, you need to use CWM 6.0.5.3 to install them.
Read more if you what to know more.
Thanks guys!!!
Unfortunately the PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1 didn't work for me as for some reason Odin got stuck setting up connection.
I assume that access to SD wasn't possible.
But the 6.0.5.3 was installable from SD in recovery.
With that "new" recovery I was able to install the Novafusion Kitkat and now everything is running fine.
Thanks for your valueable support!

Since I got boot loop ( may be coz I tried to install SuperSU ) I tried to restore twrp backup of OOS 3.2.8 with twrp..it seemed to restore and in the end when I rebooted it only showed one plus logo and switched off.. What do I do..?

Clean flash OOS, then restore backup.
I could reboot to twrp recovery , and I wiped all (except internal storage ) and flashed full 3.2.8 which was in my internal storage, but i got error 7. (Mount system was checked)..

Try using the recovery from blu_spark.
Tried to install twrp 3.0.2-1 img from within recovery, failed to boot. Fastbooted stock recovery . side loading stock OOS 3.2.8 failed. Link for blue spark recovery please. which version..? One link was closed

using fastboot rom and miflash if theres a fastboot beta rom.
Can Possible with Updater App Without Root?
is ur phone unlocked ?
if YES,
then
1) take backup (photos etc etc...)
2) flash TWRP (flashing just TWRP won't root your phone !)
3) download MIUI dev rom from here - https://en.miui.com/download-341.html
4) boot ur phone in TWRP recovery.
5) format phone using TWRP.
(better to format phone while switching between roms to avoid conflicts ! )
6) copy dev rom file to phone.
7) flash rom
8) reboot and njoy
OR
download Fastboot rom and Mi-Flash and flash the rom.
