Fire phone unlocked version work with GSM carrier outside of USA or not?
I have to go to work in Thailand for 3 months. Want to use this phone with gsm 850 spectrum
Can I use this phone with local sim.?
Try to find out but never get it
Should work without issues as it's quad band. I've used an unlocked phone in thailand without any problems in the past.
I live in EU, Ukraine and confirm gsm works with local carriers. Should be working in any other corner of the world.

The problem is with the data connection or also with voice?
unable to do call/msg
No, FIre Phone wont work in India
I bought Fire Phone in US and sent it to india. My friend confirmed that its not working with Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. I spoke to Amazon Customer care an hour back and they also confirmed that there is an ongoing issue and amazon is working on the resolution. As on today there is no estimated ETA, it might take a month to 3 months.

My niece was visiting from New Zealand and got one while here in the states. She now said its working great in NZ.
It is working fine, like a champ in Colombia in 4G LTE network.

I have a problem with an Amazon Fire Phone that I 've bought unlocked from Amazon. It seems that it is not working in Orange Romania. Can you tell me which network are you using in Romania?
As started in the PM, i use Orange and it works, 3G and LTE (where available).
I have a Pre-pay card, some people say that there might be issues with post pay cards SIM/USIM different batch, manufacturers or so.
I can't confirm that.

yes it should work
viva is a gsm network so it Should work. However the fire phone works with a nano sim, make sure they provide it in viva, if not, you will have to cut it. Check the gsm bands for viva and check the phones band at gsm arena.

As its mentioned the sprint version is CDMA/GSM so is it possible to unlock the GSM of sprint version to use with other carriers?
There is a wealth of information on this subject in the Rhodium CDMA Portion of this forum.
It is being worked on, but is not finalized yet.

yes, at PPC Geeks they are working on it. I really want to see it work on the Verizon network. I hate carrying two phones around.
I am sorry it doesn't make senc eto say you want your sprint phone to work on verison both are cdma unlocking won't help you!
I want the sprint to work on other carriers because I live in turkey where the phone is not available yet.. and I currently only use gsm so cdma won't bother me too much for now if only the gsm could be unlocked and used untill the cmda is also unlocked.

You say you live in Turkey? Then a Sprint Touch Pro 2 will most definitely work because by default it's already unlocked to international gsm providers.

and lots of 'we're working on it'

Hi,
i am interested in buying the Rogers Nokia Lumia 900, unlock it with a code, and make it work on Telus.
Questions to those who bought the Nokia Lumia 900 from Rogers:
1) Does the LTE will work on Telus Network?
2) Is the Internet Sharing locked?
3) I figure we can still get the April 16th update when we unlock it?
4) Where did you bought your codes?
Thanks in advance!
not sure for questions 1-3.
4. I bought mine here... www.remotecellunlock.com
for the Rogers Nokia Lumia 900 it was USD$ 8.79 and code was delivered in 35 minutes
1. dont know
2. now this feature is locked.
3. yes
4.www.cellunlocker.net 7.99 USD, unlock it night before sleep and got it when i wake up
From what I can tell the Rogers version really doesn't have LTE.
Just pentaband.
Onced unlocked I will let you know about the AT&T version on Telus....still waiting.

In what region are you? I am in Québec!
And i find it strange that the internet sharing option is locked out for your phone, did you bought the AT&T or Rogers device?

Does anybody got LTE in Montreal, because the higher I got was 4G. Strange or when Rogers says that LTE is deployed in Montreal it's only one cell tower near their shop in downtown ?

Hi I called AT&T International Services at 1-800-335-4685, you can use skype to call for free.. Anyways I asked if they could give me an unlock code if I bought a Lumia 900 to use outside the US.. the CSR said that it is available and asked for IMEI number and email to send the code to.. but I didn't have the IMEI # because I didn't receive my phone yet.. but Can you please try and let me know if it works??
Thanks
Peoples with unlocked phones, were you able to receive the Nokia update yet?
Is your device from Rogers or AT&T?
I have a Rogers Lumia 900, unlocked and using it on Telus. LTE does indeed work and is fast.
As for updates, I'm not sure how that's going to work, especially device specific updates since it's carrier dependant and Telus doesn't have the 900.

I have a couples questions for you:
- After buying the device from Rogers, where did you get your 'Unlock Code'?
- Did you already had a Micro-SIM card or you went to Telus asking for one? and did you have to ask them to change your data plan for the LTE plan or something?
- You have an LTE icon on the phone?
- Is the Internet Sharing feature working?
- Did you have to make special changes to the settings for your LTE connection to work? Changing APN, etc...
- As for the update from Nokia, you tried the Zune trick of dropping and reconnecting your internet connection or something like that?

I just moved to Canada and can't use my phone so much here. I bought it in Europe. One person working for a network here said that if it's bought in Europe, then it's a GSM version only and only Rogers and Fido support that. I'm so surprised. I thought the phone was quadband? I thought all smartphones were tri or quadband?
Has anyone else had this issue? Is it true what the shop person said? Other people with other networks said it definitely won't work on their network. But It is a factory unlocked phone...:crying:
I have the C1905 version. I see on eBay the US/Candian one is C1904. Maybe I'll buy a cheap C1904? How can I be sure? I don't want to waste money. I asked Sony and they basically said they 'can't be sure'.
As far as I know, only 3G network frequencies differ between C1904/C2004 and C1905/C2005. In 2G network it should work fine, since all variants are quadband...

I have looked into this and that is indeed the problem, 3G is the only spectrum that doesn't work. Having just moved abroad AND chosen a plan with data included, I really needed Google Maps. Oh well. It's a big surprise with this phone. I'll have to buy a new one so I can access data again.
I am traveling quite a bit between China and Europe and the phone works fine in Asia and when I am in Europe I am using a SIM card from Vodafone the Netherlands.
This works fine in the Netherlands but when traveling in France, Germany, Italy the roaming function does not work. No Data is received or can be transmitted.
Voice etc is fine and all roaming settings are fine too. My CSC settings show OZS_TGY.
Since the SM-N9750D/S is a Snapdragon version I am cautious with loading other firmware although it is unlocked.
Do I need to load other firmware or are the CSC codes the issue? Please help.
Due to the virus outbreak going to Hongkong is not so attractive.

Not 100% sure, but i feel like i remember that i read that you may need to enable data for Sim 2 (assuming that's where the Netherlands sim is)
Check for sim settings
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Thanks for your reply,
Much appreciated.
I tried using both and switched also between Sim 1 and 2 but did not resolve the issue.
I downloaded the TGY firmware and will do a clean reinstall with ODIN. Hope that will help.
But thank you for your input.
also try manual network selection if set on automatic
Dear Raul,
I think I tried all common tricks to get the roaming going.
My idea is that it needs a different CSC code but not sure if this can still be done with ODIN?
Also Samsung feedback is vague on this,
Thank again Raul,

I am using a Dutch Vodafone Sim and Vodafone has some special arrangement with the roaming partners in the rest of Europe.
This might be in the CSC code but my phone is from Hongkong having TGY code. So not sure if this is the reason.
So when you come to Italy all might work without problems.
I could not find a way so far to change or adding CSC codes without rooting.
If some one else knows, please let me know. Would be appreciated.
Hello
I have same samsung note 10+ sm-n9750 with TGY CSC code and everything working very nice.

Volte and wificalling calling on both sim card's working very well

UPDATE 26 JULY 2020
I am in Italy now and I inserted a Vodafone IT. The phone work fine and I noted that over here I have a 4G+ band aggregation while in USA with my ATT SIM I don't and this is really strange because with my old Note 8 ( N950F DS) I use to have band aggregation and both of the phone have the same bands! Someone can explain?
Maybe an old topic, but I just try ....
I live in the Netherlands, have a SM-G7810 ( S20 FE Snapdragon, original TGY but changed tot CHC due to I need Call-recording). SIM-card is Vodafone Netherlands.
In the Netherlands all works great, data and voice.
When I go to Germany, voice works great, but data is nor working. Ofcourse tried everything in settings.
I did not try it with another SIM-card, so I'm not sure if the issue is only the CHC/TGY original phone in combination with Vodafone, or that it is the phone in general used in Europe with any simcard and try to have data on in roaming.
