On some (all?) apps, when I clear the "Show notifications" box, the box will reset to enabled after I reboot the phone. Is there any way to prevent this?
I'm running the latest Liquid Smooth rom. Don't know if it's rom-dependent. One of the apps that does this is Subway Surfers (yes I let my kid play with my phone).
Thanks!

just uninstalled some apps and now my desire keeps restarting the sense saying "the application HTC sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectadley.please try again. phone is now useless even using an app killer on sense it just restarts and round in circles i go. now unable to use any function of the phone has any one encountered this and can help?
same here
did you manage to find a solution to the problem ?
reinstalling all the removed application hasn't changed a thingh - keeps crashing
I tought the problem might have been with either some LCOALE plug-in that where still in some profiles o Beautiful Widget that where still on some screen but reinstalling them makes no difference
Hard reset is the only option i can see at the moment
I've encountered his yesterday when I tried to switch to another Scene.
Anyway, I found a way around this without having to hard reset.
Everytime you see the force close button, tap it. But all the while, spam the hardware search key until the search bar shows up. Type the first few letters for "Applications". You should be able to access the Applications settings menu. Go into "Manage applications". Go into "HTC Sense" and tap "Clear data". This will erase all your Scenes but it's better than doing a hard reset.
thanks ohyeahar your suggestion was very helpfull
I got to the applications but "manage application" would force close as well - so I searched for settings and was able to get to "Personalize" and "Change the Scenes" to the "Clean State" (probably any othe default scene would have worked as well) and stopping the FC loop -
that leades me to belive the problem was probably caused by beautiful widged being uninstalled (it was my clock)
The easiest solution to this type of problem is to go into safe mode.
Power down the device, and then power on again whilst holding down Menu, and keep Menu held down until the device is fully booted.
You will now be in safe mode (it will say safe mode in the bottom left corner), which prevents all 3rd party apps and widgets from running.
You can then uninstall/delete or whatever.

Dave
Thanks Dave was not aware of that possibility and I'm sure it'll be usefull in the future

FC again
well I'm having the same problem again ....
I probably got a bit over confident knowing that a safe mode existed and tried to switch to a saved screen configuration that still included the BW clock and the loop started all over again but now - even after deleting all the custom scenes - even choosing the clean slate scene doesn't help
if I go in SafeMode it still FC the sense UI and reboots the device.....
and "Manage Application" was FC even before when everything also was working
I feel like I'm back using WinMobile phones :-(
even after killing all the running processes it still do the same FC loop - I'll guess there are no other option but to HR
what will I lose by doing-it? and what is the best procedure to use?
thanks
Try this site myhtcdesire.com/tutorials as it has details for fixing the problem.
thanks for the link chesterdob but that solution was already posted by ohyeahar (look at post #3) and in my case doesn't work becouse "manage applications" causes a FC of it's own
how can I make a Hard Reset in this situation ?
I appologize if this has already been posted, I could not find any record of a thread similar.
Just thought I'd let you all know about this bug in case it happens to some of you.
I got my Nexus a few days ago and one of the first things I did was to install LightFlow (a necessity on any phone with a notification LED!). Everything was working perfectly fine until I opened Google Books and my phone started reading it out loud to me. I checked Talk Back in the accessibility menu and it was still 'Off'. I turned it on and off a few times (as you do) and unchecked everything in the talkback settings but it made no difference. My phone then started reading out websites to me on the browser (which was INCREDIBLY annoying when it hit a really long link!). I found out you can stop this from happening quite easily by going to 'Settings > Apps > All > Google TTS Engine > Disable'. The only problem with this is that when it's disabled, Google Books force closes for some ridiculous reason and the browser starts acting weird.
After a while I realized that it all started happening after I installed LightFlow. So I disabled it in the Accessibility menu and, hey presto, no more TTS bug. I'm not sure whether this is a problem with LightFlow or whether it's a problem with the accessibility menu, but it seems if something in the menu is enabled, then the other things will randomly turn on too.
I too would like to know how to fix this. Light flow worked just fine but then some notifications stopped working properly, so I reinstalled the app and now I have the irritating voice!!!

I have the same problem, when Light Flow is enabled, TTS read everything in my web browser :| disabling Light Flow solve the issue. But this is not what i want to do.
I find a solution on
http://www.folioflow.com/ff/page/website/lightflow/pageId/1931
Some users have issues where the TalkBack accessibility service gets enabled when the Light Flow accessibility service is switched on. This seems to be a bug in Ice Cream Sandwich and we've raised an issue for it. Add a star to it here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23105 as a temporary workaround, go into your phone "settings" --> Accessibility --> Install web scripts --> and make sure it's set to "Not allowed"

Thanks for sharing! I dont have a problem with Lightflow and reading browser. However I am having a problem with SVOX tts with some apps, so I thought this (disabling LF in accessibility) might fix my problem.. It did not. But it was worth a try!
I have a Moto 360 running against a samsung s4 running lollipop (official). The phone is however rooted, with a variety of apks disabled, and greenify installed.
I've noticed that "notification access" regularly disappears from android wear - as well as from other apps (ie greenify) every day or so. No idea why!. When I launch "android wear" I see the reminder that notifications are disabled, and can happily go in and re-enable.
Any idea what may be causing this regular disabling. I can't think what sw I have that may be doing it.....
nigel.
it happened to me too after every phone restart.
I solved it by freezing glanceviewMK with titanium backup .
After a week I can confirm that change has indeed fixed it... An odd bug there.. But I don't really need glance view.. Especially as I have a moto 360 too!
Howdy!
After my recent update to Android Nougat, the downloads app cannot be disabled and is stuck in my app drawer!
What is even more weird is that when I long press and drag it up to 'App Info' to disable it, it comes up as Documents! WHAAAAAAT? I know right, super weird.
What I have done:
Enabled Downloads, cleared it all and disabled it. - Nothing
Enabled Documents, cleared it all and attempted to disable it. - Nothing
I'm at a loss, anyone else have this issue? Any ideas on how to fix this "bug".
Thanks!

I am an avid user of Textra, I've thoroughly checked the Battery Optimizations and turned off "auto optimization", which has helped quite a few of my apps stop from restarting every time switch apps and attempt to return to them.
I tried reinstalling the app to no avail. Basically what happens is, every time I am in a conversation, "go home", and attempt to return to the app, it has restarted on the main conversation page vs the conversation I was in. It's super annoying when you're trying to sms back and forth with someone and you have to keep clicking their name to continue talking to them.
I tried installing YAATA as well, and it is having the same issues. I looked at all the settings and see no internal reason the apps are restarting. I currently am using PULSE SMS and it's working fine, and is not restarting each time I multitask to another app and back.
I have also checked under Developer options to ensure "Don't keep activities" was not selected, and that the "Background process limit" is set to standard, which it is.
Any advice?
Mario
