I have a Moto 360 running against a samsung s4 running lollipop (official). The phone is however rooted, with a variety of apks disabled, and greenify installed.
I've noticed that "notification access" regularly disappears from android wear - as well as from other apps (ie greenify) every day or so. No idea why!. When I launch "android wear" I see the reminder that notifications are disabled, and can happily go in and re-enable.
Any idea what may be causing this regular disabling. I can't think what sw I have that may be doing it.....
nigel.
it happened to me too after every phone restart.
I solved it by freezing glanceviewMK with titanium backup .
After a week I can confirm that change has indeed fixed it... An odd bug there.. But I don't really need glance view.. Especially as I have a moto 360 too!

After a phone reboot this morning I was unable to reconnect my Galaxy S4 (running Lollipop) to my Zenwatch. I tried rebooting both the watch and the phone but no luck, so eventually had to factory reset the watch. Now the Android Wear app says it's connected to the watch (I can check the battery level of the watch), but notifications aren't working. When I use the "Try out watch notifications" option in the Android Wear app I get nothing on the watch.
I also find that when I try to select certain watch faces (e.g. Explorer) it fails with a message which says "Unfortunately Zenwatch manager has stopped". I've uninstalled and re-installed the Zenwatch Manager app, but during the installation process it created a notification saying "Android Wear seems to have a problem in pushi..." (that's all I can see of the message). After rebooting the phone and launching the Zenwatch Manager app again it now tells me that Android Wear is still pushing the Zenwatch Manager config to the watch (some 30 minutes after I re-installed Zenwatch Manager on the phone).
All in all it's a bit of a bloody mess. Can anyone suggest a clean start procedure that will get me back up and running?
I would start with a factory reset of the watch and uninstalling/reinstalling Zenwatch Manager.
As per my OP - that's actually what I did (factory reset watch, then reinstalled Zenwatch Manager)
???
Doh, I meant Android Wear.
Re:
Any updates?
Hi,
I had almost the same thing. For some reason the notifications on my zenwatch 1 weren't showing on the watch. It always worked but for some reason the last week orso i had that trouble.
Seems there is a setting in your phone that, i presume, got disabled after the update to the new zenwatch manager.
My phone is dutch so maybe the translation is not completly correct, it's also depending on your Rom ( Note4 here)
Look for sounds and notifications and the option notification access. If you click it i had two programs in the list, Wear and Zenwatch manager. Only the Wear was enabled.
Enabled Zenwatch manager and the notification where back .. yeah
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S6 paired with Huwei watch. The notifications for all apps (messenger, whatsapp, inbox, etc.) do not show up on the watch. Only calls show up on the watch. The voice command (ok google) works also fine. So the connection is good and stable. None of the apps are blocked. If I do factory reset everything works fine, but only for a couple of days. Then I have the same problem again. Does somebody know what is going wrong and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance!
Do you have an app installed, that interferes with notifications, e.g. "Do not disturb"-apps, that enable and disable notifications under certain conditions?
This behavior is not a common problem (at least none of which I've heard of or experiencing myself), so I assume it has something to do with configuration/apps on your phone.
Another thought: Maybe you are using an app that causes a problem with the notification system on the watch (e.g. due to a software bug). So maybe this app somehow breaks the notification queue after it is received by the watch.
Maybe this app will notify only every couple of days and after it does you're not signaled any further notifications.
So just think of the apps you have installed. Which apps are not very common and do not notify every day? Block the notification to the watch of this app(s) and see if the problem still occurs.
I am using only the build in "do not disturb" function at night. Other than that no apps have a do not disturb function enabled. I will try to block various apps as you proposed. I'll start with clean master. There is a function on Samsung Galaxy S6 that allows to switch on notification access for various apps. It was off for huawei wear but on for andorid wear. Although I'm not using huawei wear this might have caused the problem. I have switched it on! Let's see if it helps! Thanks!
I can switch back to my S6 if you cant find out. Just post and let me know. I havent used it in a while.
Thanks guys, but I figured it out. Allowing huawei wear to access the notifications solved the issue!
How did you do? I mean how can I allow Huawei Wear to access notifications?
Thank you, I have the same problem...

You have to allow the Notification from the phone. I think it varies depending on your Android version. For me it's Settings- Notifications- Notification Access- then allow whatever you want to get i.e. Android Wear, Huawei Wear, etc.
Hello there,
The notifications on my watch stopped working a few days ago, but I can't figure out why. I've recently enabled the option "Mute phone alerts & calls" on the Android Wear app because I wanted the watch to vibrate, but not the phone. However, this option seems to have muted all notifications on both the phone and the watch. I've tried disabling the option, but now the notifications appear on the phone only. Since then, I've been unable to restore the watch notifications, no matter what I try. I've also used the "Test Notification" feature available in the Android Wear app, but nothing appeared on the watch. Here's what I've attempted to do:
I've disabled the "Do Not Disturb" option on my phone.
I've unmuted my phone.
I've disabled "Theater Mode" on the watch.
I've checked that my apps are not blocked inside the Android Wear app settings.
I've checked that the Android Wear app on my phone is allowed to display notifications.
I've checked that the Android Wear app on my phone is allowed to access/read notifications.
I've tried resetting my watch to factory defaults.
I've tried reinstalling the Android Wear app on my phone.
This is not the first time I have this problem. The last time it happened, I ended up restoring my phone to factory defaults and this solved the problem. But I have no intention of restoring my phone to factory defaults once more.
Has anyone had a similar issue? Any fixes?
My Huawei Watch is running:
Android Wear 1.3.0.2421912
Google Play Services 8.4.89
Android 5.1.1
And my HTC One M8 phone is running:
Android 6.0 (Google Play Edition)
Android Wear app 1.4.0.2552934.gms
Thanks a lot!
Every time I install or uninstall the Android Wear app, I get a crash report on my phone. I'm not sure if this is related to the notification issue. I'm attaching the stacktrace.
Thanks again!
Hi everyone! yesterday i recived my OnePlus3 and i found problems with the connection with my smartwatch: i have Motorola Moto 260 (second generation) and i can pair with the smartwatch but when i try to connect with android wear the smartwatch is disappeared. when i check the devices on my moto 360 i found my OP3 but is impossible to connect with the device. i tried with my old phone (nexus 5) and the sync is correct without problems; so i tried with another smartwatch and is not possible even with this (in this case my phone not disclose this second smartwatch).
HELP PLEASE.
PS. i don't know if this is the correct section about this thread....
Did you factory reset the watch? I have my lg g watch r paired to my op3 and working perfectly fine with Android wear.

Yes i did but doesn't work...i contact the support team and they told me that in the next update of oxygen fix this bug... do you know another kind of pair with my smartwatch?!
With moto 360 1st gen works with no problem (better than the op2). Now mine is rooted but it was not when paired...
Sent from my OnePlus3 using XDA Labs
Moto360 2nd gen and OnePlus 3 - no notifications
I have a moto 360 2nd gen which paired perfectly with my Oneplus One. Then I bought the OP3. Now the watch still paired with the OP3 but my notifications have stopped coming through to the watch. Every time I restart the phone, the notifications work fine but in about 2 hours they gradually stop, one app at a time. Changing my watch face to the stock moto watch face also doesn't work. I tried fiddling with app permission and app notification settings but nothing seems to work. What's most puzzling is that google app notifications keep coming through, and before the android community starts trolling me saying its obvious, in the same breath let me say that along with the Google app, the Outlook app also manages to push notifications to my watch with no trouble. And the settings for both these apps is exactly the same as all my other apps.
My take is that the aggressive memory management of the OnePlus 3 could be the reason for this and maybe the only fix for people who dont want to get under the hood of is an OS update with a patch to address this bug.

Facing similar issue on my Op3 with Moto 360 2nd Gen. (I also was with OPO and 360 2nd Gen and now migrated to Op3) I have to manually open Android Wear App to start notifications. Works for some time and then notifications stop coming though watch.
More bug I found that the news apps are also need to be reopened for notifications to start.
It acting like a super dose on the go to save battery.

Opening the Android wear app doesn't help in my case. The app just shows a message saying 'NOTIFICATIONS STOPPED SYNCING' and asks me to restart the phone. This throttling down of active memory to save battery is killing the utility of my smart watch
Issue resolved!!
So after a lot of permutations and combinations, I've figured out a way:
Open the Android wear app
Go to home screen
Fire up the recents menu
Lock the android wear app (using the little lock icon that appears on the top right of the app window in the recents view)
I did this a couple of days ago and my Moto360 2nd gen is a smart watch all over again. No more missing notifications
P. S. I haven't received the Oxygen OS 3.2.1 OTA update yet and hope to stop using my manual hack post the update since the OTA update promises to bring better RAM managent to the OP3 among other tweaks.
Hi all,
I have a LG G7 for about 6 months.
I have a pending issue which i cannot seem to solve it permanently.
I just update my phone to Android 9.0 but this happen even before android 9.0.
After using phone for awhile (especially during heavy usage) , my widget will freeze and stop updating. My notification panel also will freeze and stop updating.
The only way i can solve temporary is a few ways.
Either i clear all cache, force stop the "home app" in the app list or restart the phone. But this only is temporary.
Currently i have 303 apps on my phone and i have alot of notification coming in and a few pages of widget.
Not sure why this happen often but i suspect could be RAM overload or lack of memory.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.
