I have 64 sd that's it's detected without a problem on latest AICP rom, The Sickness roms and TWRP. When I install Spirit Roms the new Alpha CM12 it won't detect it in both roms. It's current format is NFTS, should I try to format it to Fat32 or Ext4?
I tried formatting it to Ext4 but the computer would not recognize it. I'm going to format it to Fat32 and see what happens
I formatted the card to Fat32 but would only read like 932mb in the Android OS but no data I had pasted. In recovery it read nothing.
Repartition and format to FAT32. You may have some unallocated space. Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think s4 can read a 64 GB sdcard.

I hope I am now putting this in the right place but I am getting very frustrated. Decided to bite the bullet and rooted my Desire at the weekend. As I have W7 64bit, I decided to use the Tiny Core Linux method mentioned by benko286.
I installed a Modaco ROM with A2SD+ and so far so good.
Rom Manager allowed me to install the Rom from the SD card. I then used Rom Manager to partition the SD card with a 512mb Ext3 partition and a 32mb swap partition so that I could take advantage of A2SD+.
However, when I install new programs they seem to be going to the phone memory as the space on the phone memory is going down.
I copied the Rom zip file back to the Fat32 partition on the SD card and tried to install the Rom again from scratch using Rom Manager. All I get now is a big red ? and after a few seconds the phone reboots again.
What have I done wrong?
Also, if I use Acronis Disk Director to partition the card, there is an option for the Ext3 partition to be primary or logical - should this be primary and should the Linux swap partition be before of after the Ext3 partition?
All help gratefully received!
TIA

I have an 8GB SanDisk MicroSD, it had a 500MB SD-EXT partition made using ROM Manager with 0MB of Swap. I was using OpenDesire, the latest version.
However I decided to change to Cynanogen 6.1.1, as it is more stable. I decided to Un-Mount and Format my SD Card, as I know this wont format my SD-Ext. After Formatting my SD Card wouldn't re-mount so I connected it to my computer, and formatted it again, by right clicking and clicking Format in My Computer.
After doing this it said I had 7.86 GB of Memory on my SD-Card. This is how much is left on the SD Card with no Partition's or data. After I installed Cynanogen, when wiping the user data, I noticed that it said there was no SD-Ext partiton, and so it couldn't format it. I immidiatley went back to ROM Manager to create one, however when it gets to the Clockwork MOD Part I just get a error about a signature or something? Can anyone please help - thanks!
Perhaps the format option under settings wiped the whole SD card and repartitioned it with a single FAT partition, therefore deleting the EXT partition. Format from within windows/linux in future. AFAIK, there would not be an ext on a stock rom and therefore no need for one, so the format option just goes ahead an obliterates.
If you've got a nandroid you could just repartition and restore.
Sounds like it just formatted the whole thing into a single partition. Just partition it back again as your really suppose to do when switching roms.
I have 8GB MicroSD card, when I try to partition it using GParted, and I partition it with:
FAT32: 6.5GB
EXT4: 1.00GB
It shows an error next to the EXT partition, and it happens with all EXT (ext2,3 and 4).
I read somewhere to partition the EXT first and it worked, my questions are:
1. How to move my data back to the FAT partition if I use windows? (as windows recognize the first partition only, and since it is ext, it won't recognize anything)
2. If question 1 was solved, will it work to use the partitioning that way? As I read that FAT should be first.
Thank you.
What you could do is boot into recovery and use the SD partitioning in there. That's ifyou have CWM version 3. Rom Manager will also do it. You could use that as a starting point and then just upgrade it to ext4.
Just use Rom Manager to format. Easiest way imho
Hello.
I'm having a big problem with ext4 fromatting partion.
I have using GParted program (bootable cd), and everything was great, program created 2,79 GB FAT32, and 1 GB ext4, like in the video tutorial on your site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084 (step five).
And I noticed, on the end of the video, when the guy is checking on htc desire space (about 2:40 min on youtube) he had 13,92 GB on FAT32 of 14,92 GB. But I have full 3,92 GB FAT32, which is the same sioze a micro sd. I dont know where I am doing wrong?
Then, I tried ROM manager, but after restart, I have blue android and triangle with !...and says that on disk e: something goes wrong ABORTED!
Do you have some idea, what can I do?
Thank you very much.
You did something wrong with gParted, delete all partitions, make one FAT32 partition and format the SD.
Then try making EXT partition in recovery, if you know how to you should change recovery to the 1 in my signature, it works flawlessly.
Nope, I formated fat32 and ext4, and when I connect htc desire to pc, and put Insertcoin.zip, its blank sd card. And then I see notification on htc, that is my sd card blank, and unsupported filesystem...
I will try and third way, that ext4recvery...
or you can try MiniTool Partition (@k3lcior yes I remember what you said).
Note: Some say that you can get errors when partitioning with windows, but I've never had any problems. Up to you.
Gparted is an awesome tool to use ??? I don't see what your doing wrong ...
Format card - New Partition - Fat 32- 2.79 gb -
Then new partition - create Ext 4 at the end 1gb....
I have a little problem with my WFS. I partitioned the SD card to use Int2Ext4, but the ROM keeps saying that no SD card is present, even if it does use the EXT partition. I can mount the card in CWM, I can see it's content there.
I'm using the ROM from OWL Project (this thread), the last version of it.
I would post there, but I don't have the post count yet.
Any advice? I'm currently repartitioning my SD card and try again. I reflashed the ROM a couple of times, fixed permissions as well from CWM.
Did you format your partition on the SD card with EXT4? INT2EXT4 only supports the ext4 file system, not ext2 or ext3. I use the INT2EXTV2 on myl WFS with the OWL ROM for a few weeks and it works without problems so far.

Yes, I used Ext4. I tried flashing Int2Ext, Int2Ext+, Int2ExtV2+ and Int2Ext4+ from CWM, but I was always stuck on bootloop. The only way I made it work was by extracting the script file from Int2Ext4+ and placing it in /system/etc/init.d of the ROM zip. Flashed it, it worked, but then I got this problem )
I'm thinking that maybe the FAT32 partition was not formatted correctly. So I'm doing that now.
I repartitioned the SD card and now it worked correctly. Weird is, I did the same thing as before, so I'm not really sure why it wasn't working in the first time.

i format the sdcard, cache, dalvik, etc then flash the script (data2sd or int2ext or int2ext+ or watever) then goto advanced then select partition sd card, select 512 MB and 0 MB for linux swap space. DONE, hope solves it for you
I have too WFS with OWL project and i dont have any problem with this
Go to recovery menu and here create partition (befor it backup sd card)
Then go to mount and storage menu > mount usb storage >connect usb cable > give cronomod on sd
Then go to install zip from sd card and instal cronomod INT2EXT+
And have more memory
After instal cronomod dont stres android start is first longer but only first then normal speed
Thanks for the answers. I did say I fixed it already by repartitioning the card. Probably I didn't format it right.
