Does this work with d852G?
Hi ! My g3 is running the 20a stock lollipop rom right now and i want to apply the oversharpening fix, but... It seems that i have to use a custom recovery, but my g3 is not rooted yet ! I'm completely lost : do i have to root my phone ? Can i root it considering that it runs lollipop ? Hoooow ? Thanks

Using the Canadian d852 LG G3, I'm getting a "(780) fastboot mode" error on boot. Luckily, I had a backup, but can't figure out how to get this to work. I am using Cloudy G3 1.2 rom and flashed the d852 variant.

I am not sure but you can try "stump root" in a few minutes without knowledge or risks.

Here you go
http://www.mediafire.com/download/x6532xvt6x44m26/D852-KK-stock-oversharpening-off.zip
first take a backup of your boot partition, just to be safe. Then you can restore only that if something goes wrong.
And take care to flash this file ( the other has the same name)

You can use the e988 ROMs on an e980 with no issues. As for the baseband, you might have to flash the BM9615a baseband, or suffer from no deep sleep

Again I'm new to the device so don't know everything and all variants in one forum is very confusing. I guess when you don't have a working recovery or wanna go back to 100% stock
Use this recovery, here. Been using it since it's release and have had no flashing problems.
https://db.tt/bQeSgkEJ
Flash it in whatever recovery you're using then reboot into recovery and you're good to go.

I know with the optimus g, there are kitkat recovery and prior to kitkat recovery (excuse my lack of fancy terms)... Kitkat ones can't flash 4.3 and below roms, non-kitkat recoveries can't flash kitkat. Is it the same situation with G Pro ?

I read that Loki is a locked bootloader bypass. Now with freegee capable of unlocking bootloader do regular users still need Loki recoveries ?

I've done it. I reverted from IronRom lollipop to Ironrom KitKat with no issues. No need for odin as the lollipop bootloader can run KitKat fine.
Just find a custom roms for KitKat and flash it through twrp

I tried yesterday without success. Installed busybox then viper4android. No workie. Driver won't install. Searched around and found this driverless v4a and still no go.
Anyone out there get V4A working on MM? If so please share.
How - which V4A file specifically.

Viper4Android FIX 4 Marshmallow 6.0.1.
After doing some diging around i found the solution you will need to be ROOTED ROOTED ROOTED of course and you will need insert subpolicy for Viper4Android cause your kernel is enforcing assuming your running stock firmware so here you go and thanks does not go to me but to the person who wrote it and he knows who he is so a big shout out to the kernel killer.....View attachment ViPER4Android-supolicy.zip
Forgot to you all after inserting the zip via TWRP or whatever else you folks might be useing for a recovery you will need to go into settings on Viper4Android and goto FX compatible mode and click on compatible after you installed the driver and presto Viper4Android will be up and runing ....
Rooted already no????

this is for anyone facing problems on 6.0.1 and the steps i followed to got it working on note 4 sm-n910f on stock MM 6.0.1
1st ) install v4a app, i am using 2.5..0.5 version available on official website https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 but i guess older version will also work as long as they support android 6.0
2nd) after installing v4a ,open it ,grant it root access and let it install driver. When it ask for reboot ,reboot device
3rd) after reboot,go to titanium backup and freeze soundalive and adapt sound
4th) boot into recovery and then flash v4a subpolicy.zip
5th) after reboot ,head to v4a app and swipe right and click on setting and select compatible mode
6th) now turn on master switch and change a bunch a of things. i recommend turning bass and clarity up
7th) now play some music. head again to v4a app and turn off master switch to see if you see any change in sound . Aim is to see whether driver is processing or not as the side menu showing driver status will gray out when you select compatible mode in settings.
report back if this method works
