its simple,
verrify that you have your bootloader unlocked in sony site.
fallow the instructions in his post.or Briefly but I will tell you how to do it,
back to stock gb 2.3.4 with flashtool(wipe cache and data checked),then finish the setup wizard after the phone is starts.
reset.flash with fastboot lupus\doomkernel for ics.click the back button constantly when the phone is starts with the new kernel to enter official cmw5.
wipe cache do factory reset and wipe delvik.flash from sd marks part 1 rom.finish.reboot.finish setup wizard.pull battery (not shutdown or reboot).and flash part 2 in cmw.thats all i think!
sorry for my bad english and if i missed something.I myself have not installed the new rom, the last version was that i used was update 4.

I have some what of an understanding after reading up on it ... I am just trying to understand how one works with a rom? or the correct one for a rom?
+1 on read the op and you should be fine.
You need to know if your ROM is ics/jellybean and if its aosp based or stock based.
Always make a backup before flashing something just to be safe.

Head over to the development and original development sections to find some kernels. To know whether it is compatible with your phone and ROM, read the opening post thoroughly and do research. All of your questions are common and answers are out there when you search. Reading is the best thing you can do for yourself here on XDA.

U can't unlock your bootloader because no one find a solution and still a work in progress. You can install cwm and flash stock based roms. Check Xperia S android development section.
One more thing, don't ask questions in general section.

Is it a random condition or something...?

No, it's because of network providers who ask Sony to do that. Those who bought mobiles as contract(pay monthly) have their bootloader locked and unable to unlock anywhere. Only Sony can do that :screwy:

Our adventurous, root discover kc6wke:

Some tips from kc6wke:
Question: I couldn't get it to work, did you do this on AP fastboot mode? can you please provide the steps?
kc6wke:
Normal boot mode. make sure you have access to your phone in adb Follow the steps in the OP. Some are saying to install the samsung driver also, But I just had the Moto drivers, ran the install.bat and followed the prompts. worked perfect.
All 3 msm8960 phones [xt907, xt925/6 & mb866] have always used the same low level exploits this one is no different. Works on one, works on all.
K1mu's exploit thread:

News from k1mu:
I'm going to be posting directions this weekend that will allow this to work on a number of devices without using adb.

This is very exciting news.... But..
Can anybody else verify that this method works? I clicked the link, and then clicked the other link and noticed that it lead me to root instructions for the galaxy s4 which makes me a tad nervous, seeing as this phone is not an s4 lol
I would love to try this and would love to have root access on my phone but would like to see more people saying that it in fact works before I go and try it and take a chance of messing things up (not that I couldn't fix it, just lazy.. )
PM or ask kc6wke!
All 3 msm8960 phones [xt907, xt925/6 & mb866] have always used the same low level exploits & this SHOULD be no different. Works on one, works on all.
BTW I never knew how to interpret the BL codes:
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 1
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 2
Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3
Anyone know?
Wow that's exciting! And this has been around for weeks!
I will be trying this on my girlfriends phone this weekend. Has anyone else confirmed?

Most of the current ROMs out will not work with SS. Like Avi said, you'll need to use something that is based off of stock.

The ONLY one you can use on a locked bootloader is SafeStrap. You can't use an actual recovery replacement unless your BL is unlocked.
Q&A for [FIX][Oversharpening][All Variants] Stock kernel with oversharpening fix.
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [FIX][Oversharpening][All Variants] Stock kernel with oversharpening fix.. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
