I just change my share plan from 10GB to 15 GB free of charge. At&t giving now 15GB share plans for price of 10GB.. If you have 10GB share data on your plan just go to your At&t account on line or store and change. https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/data-plans.html#fbid=rXgfsSx3hyR

They allowed double your data for customers last month, was able to get my 10GB doubled to 20GB then.
Yup, got this done as soon as I saw the article for it. :good:
Great find, thanks!

Just a tip: Put it to start when the new cycle begins... so you dont have to pay extra

I was in this same spot.. though I rarely went over.. I was thinking too much about that 10gb limit, and it would change my habits sometimes. The 15gb might as well be unlimited for me.
One poster a few back mentioned changing the date so as to avoid the cost increase. This deal had NO cost increase. You simply needed to change your plan from 10gb to 15 gb. I did mine via myATT app.

The double data promo is for 15GB plans and higher. The 10GB promo is you get 15GB of data for the 10GB plan price.

You had to be on a non contract plan and speak to the retention department. Regular customer service was not aware of or could perform double your data on anything less than 15GB. Retention was doubling less than 15GB.

That wasn't the normal deal; I'm assuming you had to call them to get them to bend the rules. They were only doubling 15GB -50GB plans then.
edit: Disregard, I just read your most recent post. Yep, you had to talk to their retention department.

As you probably know, Verizon no longer offers unlimited data. I luckily managed to get in before the change, but I still cant believe this b.s. ... especially now that they have 4G. Heck with 4G you could easily go over the 10GB plan(the best they offer) in a single day. Even on my Inc 2 I still average 20Gb/month.
It really bothered me because I thought of getting rid of my Inc 2 and getting a tablet, then switching to a data only plan... but ofcourse then it would no longer be unlimited.
Are any of you guys upset about this? Think it will hurt Verizon?
im not too upset by it since i was able to get a discounted incredible 2 and unlimited data the day before they changed plans. what i am unhappy with is the pricing of the new plans. 30 for 2gb? i feel they should have offered a cheaper plan than 30. i rarely go over a gb of data since i use wifi mostly so it would have been really nice to save with a cheaper data plan.
Anyone already on an unlimited plan is grandfathered in. This includes adding a new line or device under your account. Only new subscribers at this point are stuck with tiered.

Actually, there is a catch. I added the unlimited data to my plan late June when I heard they were making the move to tiered data even though I am still sporting a Chocolate 3. Yesterday, I snagged the Inc 2 through Target for free. Checked my new plan on Verizon and they put me on the 2GB plan. I called and was told that I had the Unlimited Data plan for "Feature Phone" and now I have a Smartphone so 2GB for $30. After, telling them to cancel everything they finally changed it over. So all good now, but I never knew that the bits were different on Feature vs Smart phones.
I read everywhere that even if you have an account it doesn't matter unless you have unlimited. No grandfathering in when you add a line. Looking for the links

well, i go 'mobile' a lot with my laptop and so i use tethering often. also, i don't have a tv so i will stream a lot of movies on my phone & watch that way while laying in bed. additionally, when i'm at work or driving around i have it stream music quite often.
Tiered doesn't matter to me at all. I use around 1GB per month at the most, so having a 2GB plan with a 2GB Tethering (for my Galaxy Tab 10.1) on top for a little under 39 bucks (with my discount) isn't all that bad. Sure, unlimited is better, but I don't use more than 2GB anyway so what do I care. I do wish they had lowered the price to the lowest plan though...that was kind of disappointing.
20 GB a month? Wow.. At my worst, I only managed 3, and that was a little under 2 GB mobile and over 1 GB tether.
Is there any way I would be able to keep my unlimited plan and get the Inc 4G?

If you are willing to pay the full price of the phone and not resign a contract.. it pretty much is less money than having the 2-4 gig plan. As long as you are ok spending the 650 all at once.
Unlimited data is unlimited data, whether it be 3 or 4g. As long as you dont change your plan, you will always have unlimited data even if 5g ever comes out.

Two or more devices (phones, tablets, etc) actually. Cmlusco, Verizon announced Family Share Data plans that will go into effect on June 28th. If you (or anyone you know, SPREAD THE WORD) want to maintain your unlimited data plan you must upgrade by then OR pay full retail on future phones to keep your plan unchanged. The plan breakdown is ridiculous. Give me a bit and I can post a link detailing the new changes.
Edit: http://www.droid-life.com/2012/06/12/the-basics-verizons-new-share-everything-plans/
and
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/06/12/verizon-announces-shared-everything-plans-starting-at-50-for-1gb-of-data-and-unlimited-talktext/
I did some math and anyone switching from a unlimited plan will have the bill increase $30-$60 over before. $720-$1440 over 24 months still feel like a subsidized phone is a good deal?
I would say the best thing about the "shared" data plan is Unlimited talk.
Honestly
shared data should look more like this
unlimited talk+text 1 gig allocation per line with the same 40$ per smartphone line starting at 15 so the share plan starts at $55 and 2 phones would be $95 and the pool would be 2 gig in size. And it scales well.
I fail to see the point of such low caps with tethering and 4g we use it faster and on more devices.
Because of this whole ordeal I am seriously thinking about buying a nexus from google and going to T-Mobile. I can get unlimited there without feeling like i'm taking it up the tailpipe :/

I'll just go back to buying used phones. Will be doing that shortly here; friend is upgrading from his Rezound to a GS3, and he's willing to sell me his Rezound. Will be a nice upgrade from the Inc.
So Basically I was on the
$59.99 Unlimited Talk&Text
$9.99 200MB.
which is an = of $69.98 + TAXES($10-$13) = around = $82 dollars monthly
Now I changed it to
$39.99 500 Min
$10.00 Unlimited Text
$20.00 Unlimited Data
for a total of 69.99 + Taxes($10-$13) = around $82 dollars monthly
Now days I dont talk that much on my phone, But I do use alot the internet + texting(about 6K txts a month) im not sure How I do this.
but I belive T-mo is giving me a bad deal here.. been with them for 6 years now and I havent had any good offer... you guys how can I change this or what is your Plan I've seen 54.99 plans out there I wanna make sure I get a good deal before I call again. Thank you very much for the ooportunity
I have unlimited minutes data and text pay 78-79$ a month.
if you go here http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Packages/ValuePackages.aspx they have an unlimited plan for 59.99
if you dont use that minutes then go with the 49 99$ plan 500 mins, unlimited text, and unlimited data with 2gb of 4g
but with the value plans you do not qualify for a phone upgrade after the two year contract.

Value plans do not offer any "upgrades" the contract holder is paying full price for the phone just split between 20 months. But the plans is cheaper whereas the classic they get a phone discount but the plan is a bit more.

Yes, im calling just now and I am being transfer to migration..... and succesfully got my Employee Discount as an employee of the City of New York I got a 15% discount which is ok out of a $83 dollars bill... and also a 10 dollars discount from loyalty Dept. I am in a $61 monthly Bill. with only 500 mins but Unlimited Txt and Data (5GB+)
I just went on the t-mobile website just to take a look to see if there were any changes to offered plans to save me some money. Still have that migration fee to get a cheaper plan, but I was able to upgrade my data plan from 2GB/$20 to 4GB per month (or 4GB + 500MB, not sure) and it only costs $15 per month on sale right now. They also have discounts on higher data pans like 6GB 8GB 10GB...
Go check it out! You might save some money and get more data! I didn't have to change my plan or anything else.

Sucks they don't have the 500 minute plan...like I I don't need unlimited so why should I have to pay the extra $10. Thankfully I am already on that plan. Carriers know that people don't use as much mediums with so many other options to communicate so they are forcing it down our throats. Really thinking of going back to Virgin Mobile and dealing with their stupidly slow speeds...too bad I am on contract for another year or so

I don't have much information to say but I believe the $15/mo reduction is only for classic/grandfathered plans. In other words, Bridge to value. Since I don't have enough information from that image, that is the only thing I can think of. Basically, it gives you early access to EIP for phones or how value plans work (bring your own device or financed for 20 months I think?) for upgrades but you do not have to switch to the value plan.
Just to clarify

There is no contract with T-Mobile. The only time you're under "contract" is until your phone is paid off. If you already paid your phone off or brought it to them there's no "contract". It is their new plan and you have to sign up for it if you were an existing customer.

Not true. They offered me to switch to another classic plan. The ones with the 2.5gb, 4.5gb, 6.5g etc plans. No migration fee, came with hotspot, AND another 2 year commitment.

T-Mobile still has fully unlimited plans. They are actually cheaper now, and come with 2.5GB of hotspot usage. If anyone here wants to know anything about the plans and what changes and what doesn't let me know. I work in a corporate retail location, so if anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to answer or find the answer.

Not true. They offered me to switch to another classic plan. The ones with the 2.5gb, 4.5gb, 6.5g etc plans. No migration fee, came with hotspot, AND another 2 year commitment.
So YES, people can still sign contracts, I know, it doesn't make sense to me either.

Not true, the only way you can still get a T-Mobile contract is if you opt into it as a small business customer, or if you go through an authorized dealer like Walmart, which I don't even think Walmart does. If you are in a contract when you upgrade, you are only required to finish out your existing contract. If you are paying your phone off with an EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) you are only required to pay off the existing balance of the phone (if applicable) if you decide to leave.
In store we use the 2.5gb of free hotspot as a selling point, you get it regardless provided you move to the Simple Choice (Post-Paid) plans from any of the older plans, and have either 2.5gb or fully UNL plan.

Wrong. You can still extend with a classic plan. No migration fee but another 2 year commitment.
When I was in the store getting my Note they checked my plan and the sales associate did mention that my current plan was still cheaper than what they were offering. I don't use that many minutes so I don't need the extra minutes. I was on the 2.5gb plan that throttles speeds after that and when my wife joined my plan we switched to the Unlimited high speed plan with 1000 shared minutes almost 2 years ago. So a similar current plan is $120 before taxes and fees for my wife and myself. Not bad in comparison to other providers but still not as good and the only benefit is extra minutes we won't use and 2.5gb of tether which I rarely use as it is. We pay right under $100 a month right now
Nope, Uh Uh, Nada

Show me something that says you're on a contract! You can't because there are no contracts!
So she wanted to you to pay an extra $10 for something everyone was getting free? LMAO!

Chiming in with the 3rd not true. You can get individual classic contract plans at Costco. No need for small business/corporate accounts.
