So this has been bugging me for a while now. Even though I'm using the original accessories this message keeps popping up and it takes more than six to eight hours to charge completely! Is this hardware or software? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Also my battery is draining quite frequently and I get a backup of eight hours with fair usage don't know what to do?

The only time I get that message is when I'm charging with my computer. I'd say your wall charger is pooched. You probably need a new one, or you could use one from your last device, or any any other device for that matter. Or try a different wall socket. If that doesn't fix it, take your phone back for repairs or replacement. It should be covered under warranty.
Yea I was thinking of doing the same, it's just that I've been stalling going to their service center cuz they provide the most horrible support possible. Thanks for replying.

Hi I tried searching for this using the xda app but didn't find anything.
I think I have noticed that when charging the phone once the battery is full it doesn't maintain the charge if left plugged in, you have to unplug and plug the charger back in for it to start charging
Any one else found this?
Cheers
Tom

It's a feature on the Desire. It's to prevent the phone battery from overcharging.

That's a real bugger as I normally charge overnight so its good for a full days use, but that routine isn't going to be much good now.
Thanks for confirming though

basically what happens is, if you charge while the device is on, when it reaches 100% it will quickly discharge to 90% and then charge again till it reaches 100%, it will follow that cycle until you unplug it
Ah that makes a lot more sense
Thanks for letting me know

I purchased the official Seidio 3500 mah batteries for my evo and the wifes evo. After a full charge, her battery under normal usage all day and night is at 57%. My phone after a full charge and barely any use whatsoever was at 13% after an hour..... We are both running Azrael x3.0 rom with the newest htc kernel #15... any suggestions?? Maybe my new battery is faulty?? I would expect this from ****ty ebay batteries, but not something official!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Try eliminating a variable by swapping batteries with your wife....then use your old one again.....if both work well then you have your answer......

Swap batteries ... if hers only lasts a short time in your phone then issue is with the phone. Then you can start troubleshooting.
Edit: Ha I was a few second to slow!
Ok I will give that a try.... I noticed in the battery left widget when I go to usage, the very first one says "running" 84%, and I click on it, basically it is stating that the phone isn't sleeping when I lock the phone..... could this mean that the everything is staying on when it should be sleeping?
Thank you for tips!!

Switch batteries with your wife.
EDIT: I guess that was too obvious! We must have all hit return at the same time!!!

Ok after being on the charger for all night, I unplugged it, and really haven't done anything and I dropped to 90 % within 8 minutes.... I haven't had a chance to try my wifes battery yet, but im thinking this one is definitely faulty...
Why would android system be at 63%???

Dropping the first 10% quickly is not a certain indication that its the battery....your battery charges to 100% and then, begins to be used up to 10% before it charges again.....so you could have been lower than you thought you were originally ...thus making it appear that you dropped 10% in minutes.....if the remainder of the battery does this then I still recommend you try swapping with your wife to eliminate or confirm

Ok well I just wanted to say thank you guys for your advice, but I think I figured it out.... I think that some things within the phone were not getting along. I flashed the SBC-Net-4.2.2-more-havs kernel #11. I fully charged the phone, including bump charge, and I left it on for about an hour or so longer, and I have been unplugged for 1:44, and my awake time is 45 min. I am still reading 100%!!! So I think I am good to go....
Thanks again guys
I know this has been asked several times but i did each and every thing still no luck.
So basically my problem is that the battery indicator is stuck at 100%. It doesn't show any battery drop and suddenly turns off when the battery is completely down. When i connect the charger and the phone turns on it sill shows 100 despite the battery is completely empty. The only way to charge it is to shutdown during charging. Even after disconnecting the charger the phone still shows hundred. It is very irritating issue because most of the time it shuts down during calls.
Tried flashing different roms, kernels, hard reset, wiping battery stats, calibrating battery and every possible solution but sill no luck
Is it a charger issue, battery issue, software issue or hardware issue and is there any possible solution to It?
I know that my post is so long but you cant imagine how frustrating the problem is. I mean the phone is almost unusable as a phone
Honestly, its kinda very annoying. My battery e.g is 98% then maybe 96% after 3,4 hours and i was very happy. And then all of a suddent 1% drop every 2seconds and takes to 70%.
Not sure about the problem though.
Nokia 3310 coming ^_^
current device: htc wildfire
Atleat your battery level drops. Mine is always stuck at 100 or sometimes 99 but never below it

By hardware I meant the phone charger which provides current to battery. But I am not sure. You can try a different battery if that helps.
Same problem here...
Can anyone post the output current of your stock charger? My charger says 5V 1A output. The 1A part seems to be the real cause of problem.
Someone please post your charger specs.

My charger is also 5V 1A..
More amperes more quickly the battery charges.
Guys, have you found a solution in between? I'm using a HTC One and have exactly the problem as the OP.
Any suggestions?

Hi
I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with this phone a while back after flashing a new rom (mildwild I think) my phone started to shutdown at around 80 or 70%. I've tried charging it a few times but no luck so I tried my spare battery which I think worked at first, it lasted till about 20% but then it started to shutdown at 80 aswell. I gave up and got a new phone but I like to try and get this one working again. I've flashed it back to stock gb with the ruu but it's still the same I don't think it's charging the batteries fully as after only about a hour the led turns green.
Anyone have any idea's on what's up with it?
Thanks

The same thing has happened to me so basically you need a new battery because yours could be old and check if its bloated.

I was thinking about trying another battery but they aren't that cheap. It seems odd that the 2 batteries would stop working around the same time tho.

I'm a little confused here. You have 57% left after 9hrs 20min on battery and what looks like all sorts of things running in the back ground. From what I can see there doesn't seem to be an issue?
You need to post the usage stats.

how many hours can you manage to do with your device fully charged?
I tend to get around nine hours with a fair amount of usage and around fourteen hours with standby give or take. I could extract a couple of hours more if the phone would stop using wifi in the background which is driving me crazy since I can't get to the source of the problem as to why the wifi is still running even when I've closed it from the settings. Any insight would be appreciated.

The phone was on standby for six hours or so. With the wifi off from the settings and I don't know as to Why it was even awake??!! Anyhow if you can help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for replying.
