I know this has been asked several times but i did each and every thing still no luck.
So basically my problem is that the battery indicator is stuck at 100%. It doesn't show any battery drop and suddenly turns off when the battery is completely down. When i connect the charger and the phone turns on it sill shows 100 despite the battery is completely empty. The only way to charge it is to shutdown during charging. Even after disconnecting the charger the phone still shows hundred. It is very irritating issue because most of the time it shuts down during calls.
Tried flashing different roms, kernels, hard reset, wiping battery stats, calibrating battery and every possible solution but sill no luck
Is it a charger issue, battery issue, software issue or hardware issue and is there any possible solution to It?
I know that my post is so long but you cant imagine how frustrating the problem is. I mean the phone is almost unusable as a phone
Honestly, its kinda very annoying. My battery e.g is 98% then maybe 96% after 3,4 hours and i was very happy. And then all of a suddent 1% drop every 2seconds and takes to 70%.
Not sure about the problem though.

Atleat your battery level drops. Mine is always stuck at 100 or sometimes 99 but never below it

By hardware I meant the phone charger which provides current to battery. But I am not sure. You can try a different battery if that helps.
Same problem here...
Can anyone post the output current of your stock charger? My charger says 5V 1A output. The 1A part seems to be the real cause of problem.
Someone please post your charger specs.

More amperes more quickly the battery charges.
Guys, have you found a solution in between? I'm using a HTC One and have exactly the problem as the OP.
Any suggestions?

This may sound weird or I missed something, but lately the charge on the phone drops DOWN after reaching 100 while still on charger.
Like this morning I woke up after having the phone on charge all night. The battery symbol showed it was fully charged and wasn't being charged no more, notification light was on to indicate the charger was connected, but battery status widgets all indicated 96 percent battery.
No CPU intensive program running in the bg. If I remove the charger and reconnect it,charging starts again normally. Tried it on two batteries. It's a o2 desire. Using original charger.

The Desire will charge the battery if the battery level drops below 90%. This can extend the lifetime of the battery.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
is this a fact? that it will charge it back? Cuz I never was brave enough to let wifi running cuz in the morning i still need the phone and sometimes i have several giga avi files to transfare.
That's new for me,will give it a try and report back
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I see the same behaviour. Using JuicePlotter, I can see that overnight the battery will drop from 100% to 90% before charging back to 100%. It does this over a few hours.
Cheers

I dont think this is true as I managed to deplete my desire in 24 hours and it was still connected to the charger.
Sorry, tried searching using my app but couldn't find one. Thanks for pointing out.

Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?
Thanks in adv.

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.

I rarely charge it to 100%, usually to 70 or 80%. much better for the battery in the long term
Any research or refrence for this longevity ? I heard its always better to charge 100% ?

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

I agree. It sounds like multiple hardware failures. You could but a new battery for cheap but the screen may be a write off.

been searching these forums in hd section but cant seem to find what im after, Basically when my phone is charging i notice that it starts to charge normal.. but as it gets to around 60,70,75% it will automatically jump to 100 and tell me its full..
ive tried calibrating the batter, discharging it fully. charging it back up but it still results in the same problem. anybody heard of this before?
thanks

more than likely you need a new battery, this was happening to me last week and stopped when I replaced the battery
I'll second that statement, your ur for a new battery. If your going to by from eBay I'd suggest being careful, some batteries from there are not very good.

It's a hard one to answer, usualy you get what you pay for as in more expensive the better but not always the case, rip off, counterfeit. Genuine is always best.

So I recently installed this Rom, immediately after I saw that it boasted about having the ability to add an amazing battery life.
Now I've seen a couple of threads, and videos of guys proving this. So I was quite excited that I will be able to have a great battery life, more use of my phone, rather than just 6-8 hours.
However, after installing it last night, and charging it, I noticed today, that I only had the phone on for 6 hours, and already it was down to 11%.
I didn't even use my phone that much. It may have downloaded one or two apps, but that's it. So, I've reinstalled the ROM, to see if this will fix it.
Anyone one else used this ROM with the HTC One X and experienced the same thing?
Also new to the forum, and using roms, so be gentle :silly:

No. Just charge it like normal. These batteries like partial charges not full charges.

I've just heard great stuff for this Rom on battery life, and it's just not impressive so far. It seems to be worse than normal.
