Not sure if this will help but there's a feature called 'voice enhancement' under settings when the dialer is open.
The description says 'Enhance voice clarity in noisy enviroments so you can hear more clearly' Try turning this on/off see if it helps.
Thanks but I already tried that.

should be on new text message, did u tried to press the play button also? does it work? (playing like it should be?)
seems to me you're fine with the settings, consider a softreset? or maybe did it happen after u inserted the headphone?

Hello...I was wondering if there is a way to disable the feature where the phone changes to speaker phone when not next to your ear...thanks
[JTC ONE m8]
It doesn't do that on mine. I have to touch the speaker icon to change to both loud speakers. I think you are just getting confused with how loud it actually is when using the normal ear phone speaker.

Holy crap... I'm sorry
Just checked automateit and forgot I had downloaded the rules to make this feature work... They were turned on but under the inactive tab so I didn't check it. I feel like an idiot, mods feel free to delete this thread.

This shouldn't happen on the stock setup. The OP of this thread had created rules in the app AutomateIt to turn on the speaker automatically.
Are you running an app, custom ROM, or other mod that might be causing this?

Who are you with? Sprint, Verizon, etc? I have the same problem - no matter what program I use or the TweaksBox call recording - the other side is distorted.

Hi,
I have a G4 H815T (Hong Kong).
I have been using my Westone UM2 earphone with my last phone (Note 3 and Note Edge) for quite a while and everything was fine.
When I use that earphone in G4, I find listening to music and watching clips are fine, but the phone call and skype/facebook calls are very laggy.
It seems that the earphone is heavily cancelling the background sound of the call, but it went too far which makes the call really choppy.
Is there any way to correct this problem?
Thank you for your help.
Edmund
P.S.
I have tried my earphone with other android devices (Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2) and it worked out fine.
Can anyone help?

Go to your settings, under wireless network, go to calls, then under ongoing calls, there should be the options for noise suppression, and voice clarity. Try turning them on or off and see if it makes a difference.
