Just do a Google search and you will find many other websites that review HD games for Android.
GTA San Andreas looks amazing on this phone. I've got the graphics turned all the way up and I'm not getting any lag. 720p and hours upon hours of game play for $4.

Now that It's finally out, I was wondering if you guys started playing and if so how's the game play for you?
So far for me it's not as smooth as asphalt 6 was, it lags a here and there and the controls aren't as responsive as I want it to be.

I've played both for quite a while, and I find that Asphalt 6 was refined a little more. My experience however on Asphalt 7 doesn't seem to be nothing less than smooth. I guess it's because of the kernel and ROM I am currently using that makes it seem smooth. but you are right. Asphalt 6 handles much better. Asphalt 7 seems like it wasn't very well optimized. I played it on my iPad and it runs much better, which doesn't make sense considering our device has so much more power.
Lags and frame drops a lot. Played asph6 to make sure it wasn't an issue with my underclocking the cpu but asph6 ran lly smooth as usual.
I gave asph7 5 stars but I hope they optimize the game for s3 Snapdragon soon.

I found it very smooth when I played it (though it could be due to the fact of being overlooked), but my main quirk so far with this and 6 are the controls. I can never stand them and it upsets me that there's little customization for it (still find real racing to be my favorite racing game on a mobile device). Otherwise graphics are amazing and the levels and cars look fantastic.

I've searched and couldn't find anything related to this problem, so I decided to make a new thread.
I noticed my HOX runs pretty hot (around 50C) when playing 2d games like Final Fantasy Dimension, Dungeon Village etc.
Aparently it runs hotter than playing 3d graphic intensive games like Chaos Ring, and uses more battery too, around 1% per minute.
Anyone else noticed this too? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
I noticed this both on Viper room and now on Paranoid Android on my sig.
Thanks for the inputs!
htc overheating
Right ! if playing games have the power save on !, just played real racing 3 on my 42" tv with hdmi over an hour and a case on , my htc one x gets warm but no over heat, give it a try power save on work for me no overheat...

Disappointed in the performance of the gta games on this device, i had a galaxy tab 3 for a few weeks and that seemed to get better performance in san andreas (Shadows on classic and car reflections on low) I have looked around and people are saying its not optimized on the andreno gpu. Is that true?
It could also because of such a high resolution. Even with PC, games would run hard time with that resolution.
Lower end tablets with 1024 x 600 or 720p resolution might run better than ours since we have up to 4 times the lower ends' resolution.
In my opinion this device is great for reading, media, and streaming, but not really a thing for gaming.

I don't think its the resolution because you can adjust that in san andreas to the galaxy tab 3 res and it still chugs a bit.
Have to disagree about not being a device for gaming, nova 3, modern combat 4, real racing 3, asphalt 8 are all blazing fast. Not to mention the emulators, connect a controller and you have playstation 1, n64, snes, nes, megadrive, gameboy, mame for arcade games, scummvm for all the classic point and click games, the list goes on. I think its a pretty sweet gaming machine
Plan to buy one but I am a little worried about the Tegra cpu on it. It has a very large GPU i know however i did see somebody mentioned that they experienced fc while playing games. I mostly play Clash Royale and coc. Does anybody play that and with Pixel C, do you still experience a noticeable lag or screen freeze when CR turned into elixir * 2 or overtime? I experienced a more severe lag on my nexus 6p than on my z2 tablet.

on the n preview, it handles emulators perfectly, even the resource hogs like ppsspp and drastic. on the other hand, some games like word streak crash instantly, but that's probably just an n thing.
I'm looking at getting an A5 but I've seen a few things written about the GPU (Mali-T830MP3) being under powered, specifically for games but also HD video.
Does it really have issues playing video? Stuff like watching netflix and films saved to the sd card. I'm assuming that when they are talking about it not being enough for games they mean asphalt 8 rather than candy crush or angry birds?
No problems with Netflix, smooth as butter.
HD videos work just fine. I don't game though so no idea about that.
HD video is buttery smooth, I don't play games. For normal usage (browsing, video, apps) this device is a fine phone. Batterylife is just great.
4k video plays very smoothly on A5 2017. HD video is yesteryears thing.
