[Q] CM7 To Stock ROM Error

I was running CM7 on my KF and I wanted to get back to stock. I placed the Amazon factory software update.zip on the root of sd and followed all normal flashing steps. I did not flash. No I am trying to get it back on through adb and fastboot, but every step of the process comes back with:
exec '/system/bin/sh' failed:no such file or directory
I cannot do anything, except access TWRP. If I boot normal, it stays at Kindle Fire (blue) boot screen.
What are my options?

You turn the device off, then plug it in...voila, fastboot mode.

Help!
I received my factory cable today in the mail, but i am unsure of where to start. What utility should a use to get anything (preferably, kindle stock software) to happen. I only get two screens: either kindle logo OR black screen.

I am ready to buy a Fire TV and sell my ATV2, question though

I use my jailbroke ATV 2 with XBMC and the video add ons to watch all my tv. Is XBMC working good on Fire TV and do they video add ons like 1 channels work as well as they do on the ATV2?

XBMC on FTV works very well. It is far superior to the ATV2. All addons/plugins work as expected.

Thank you so much for the reply, can you link me to an easy tutorial. I used xbmchub's install wizard on my Apple TV and it installed the add ons and all

The only issue I've had so far is that the remote doesn't seem to work on the onscreen keyboard in xbmc. My network share is password protected and when the keyboard comes up to enter the password the fire remote won't move the key selection

[Request] app that is installed on a phone with marshmallow 6.0 that can install apps

....on a fire TV. (End of title)
I purchased AGK fire pro when he made it, but it doesn't work on marshmallow. And none of the apps in the play store appear to work yet either. The developer Fire install stated marshmallow removed the adb files that agk fire and fire install would use to send files to fire TV so maybe there is an easy work around.

I'm using ES File Explorer on phone and fire tv to send the .apks over WiFi and install them manually.

Es file explorer is not working for me either.

Android 6.0.1 with vanilla firmware.
Do you encounter any error messages?

Es file explorer says it installed successfully but it doesn't. Well at least it doesn't for me. Same with the other apps, they say installed successfully when nothing has been installed.
What model phone are you using?

Netflix and Vevo display problems (solved)

Hello friends, i have just bough a firetv2 and i am having some problems with Neflix (displays with a lot of artifacts) and vevo (does not display at all). See attached images for clarity on my problem. the rest of the apps i have tried so far work well. and in the case of netflix, once i pick a stream, it displays as it should, the problem is in the menu section
I'm on 5.0.5.1 with updates disabled and not rooted. i will root when i get a cable, and then i will install TWRP and the latest prerooted rom
any idea on what i could try? i already deinstalled netflix and reinstalled, changed the firetv resolution, rebooted firetv

Try a different version of Netflix http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=netflix&post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk look for one with NODPI. Looks like latest one is OK. Sideload it.
Try your box in a different TV. You need "full scan" or equivalent. 16/9 not good. Don't choose 'auto' either.

Had the exact same problem, it went away after updating to 5.2.1.0.

help to unlock Fire Stick 4k

I recently bought a Fire Stick Tv 4k in my city's marketplace and apparently it's blocked, because I tried to log into it and it never works, I thought about installing another rom on it, but when trying to install TWRP I got the following error here wanted to know if anyone knows how to solve this error or suggest me some other method to unlock my device

This error usually means that the sticks OS is at 6.2.8.7 or later, but in your case it may be that your stick is on a really old OS, which isn't vulnerable to the new 'without-shorting' exploit...
Have you checked the sticks serial? Take a look into the unlock OP.
Maybe your stick is still vulnerable via kamakiri 1.x 'with' shorting...

I'm kind of a noob... could you give me more details on how to check if it's still possible to unlock my fire stick

Dont use ubuntu to unlock it. Use the iso of the jailbreak creator
