I was running CM7 on my KF and I wanted to get back to stock. I placed the Amazon factory software update.zip on the root of sd and followed all normal flashing steps. I did not flash. No I am trying to get it back on through adb and fastboot, but every step of the process comes back with:
exec '/system/bin/sh' failed:no such file or directory
I cannot do anything, except access TWRP. If I boot normal, it stays at Kindle Fire (blue) boot screen.
What are my options?
factory cable or usbboot
The former would be your best option IMO
Here is an update
I tinkered for a few hours and have the original Kindle Fire logo back, but that is as far as it goes. Using KFU, I get this, view attachment

You turn the device off, then plug it in...voila, fastboot mode.
Help!
I received my factory cable today in the mail, but i am unsure of where to start. What utility should a use to get anything (preferably, kindle stock software) to happen. I only get two screens: either kindle logo OR black screen.

So, I might have made a mistake... got my M8 today (yay) and bought it used with GPE rom on it. Well the software kept messing up and I wanted to go back to stock... well I tried fast booting and using a RUU which failed (too many links). I decided to then unplug it and found a horrible screen of htc logo and 4 exclamatory triangles. I can access bootloader by unplugging the device, but the only option is RUU. cannot seem to get anything else.
Connect the phone and post the results of fastboot getvar all and we'l take it from there. If you can also post a screenshot of the bootloader screen that will help

Hi everyone,
the reason I'm starting this thread is because after two days of trying to solve my issue by reading threads and trying various things, I'm still stuck. The scenario is this, my Kindle Fire HD is stuck at teamwin screen and I cannot access TWRP. I have no idea if this is soft-bricked or corrupted or whatever. What happens when I switch on the tablet is that I get the orange Kindle Fire logo, then the blue Kindle Fire logo and then teamwin screen which flashes every 5 seconds and is stuck there.

During this process, the Device Manager from Windows 8.1 successfully recognizes the tablet as 'Android Composite ADB Interface'
If I start CMD as Admin mode and key in 'adb kill-server' and then 'adb devices' I can see the device listed as '0123456789ABCDEF recovery'
Another issue is that when I go into 'adb shell', all the commands I type, I get '/sbin/sh: command not found'. I also tried 'KindleUnbrickV1.1.jar', but every option I select I get <waiting for device> and stays like that. I left it overnight.
I also tried Kindle Fire Utility, but was unsuccessful as well.
At this point I don't think there's anything else I could do and I guess it's time to say goodbye to my little fella. At least managed to finish univ with it.
If anyone has some opinions or suggestion, you're more than welcome to do so and they will be highly appreciated. By the way, I don't have any important data on the tablet so it's ok if I need to format it without taking backups.
Kind regards,
/pH-

7" Kindle Fire HD. Actually I think I posted in the wrong forum.
this thread can now be closed - managed somehow to fix the issue
So I decided to flash a new kernel and it worked fine and was an improvement. Developed connection issues thru Bluetooth so I decided to go back to stock. When following the directions to flash back to stock my watch just boots to logo then goes to a picture of

So I'm a bit lost on what to do now. I tried flashing again following the same process. Am I screwed here or is there anything I can do?
I can still boot into fastboot and use adb/fastboot etc but that's about it. Maybe I need to flash a different image? if anyone has one backed up that I can install.
Thanks!
You sure you are using the revised process? And that you are fastboot booting the recovery and not fastboot flashing it?
I was able to flash my return back to stock and relock with bootloader using the revised instructions from skin1980 and his posted files.

Yes! it's weird though haha. But worse case I can have the store replace it so not that big of a deal just wanted to see if I could work around the process and get it booted up.

PM me with your hangouts
Hi everyone!
OK, I'm sick as a dog, so I know I shouldn't have been doing this today, but..
I was trying to update my HTC One M8 with Cyangenmod, (cm-13.0-20160314-NIGHTLY-m8). I had been having problems with TWRP reading my SD card, so I decided to go ahead and wipe my phone and try reinstalling using fastboot. I used TWRP for the wipe, but I used the advanced option, and it seems that I wiped everything, including the OS from my phone. Now, all I get when I boot is this screen:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have tried holding the power and volume down buttons but I can't get back to the recovery. Both adb and fastboot do not seem to be able to see my phone:
Does anyone have any suggestions one how I can fix this?
Thanks

Only this screen. My phone won't even power down.
OK, I was just able to get into the bootloader and I can also get into TWRP. I have a micro USB chip that I can put into the phone. Should I copy the files onto the chip and use TWRP to flash? There is also an option for "adb sideload" in TWRP.
Whew!
OK, using sideload, I was able to flash Cyanogenmod back onto my phone!
Every thing should be fine now! (fingers crossed!)
You also can copy files with mounting from twrp.

So, I really wanted to get the phone rooted, and I couldn't do it without a recovery, because I can't find the firmware for it no matter what, there is only firmware for 5059d, so when I flashed TWRP for 5059d, it was asking for a password, but I didn't have one. I made one, but TWRP didn't let me mount internal storage. I tried factory reset and it made it even worse, it showed me this image

I tried factory reset but didn't help, then I tried to flash 5059d stock recovery, it worked, but now it does not even want to boot into system, I have tried Wipe data/Factory reset, didn't help. I am stuck now. I did try to flash stock firmware for 5059d, but I can't do it for some reason, SP flashtool throws me some ERROR : STATUS_BROM_CMD_FAIL /0xC0060005) error. I really don't know what to do now, if someone knows to help me, it would be preety cool . This is not my main phone, but I really want to get it fixed. Screw rooting now.
Where did you get the ROM?

Look at this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rom-a-5059d-to-unbrick.4598953/#post-88676529
May be worth a shot. If I were you I'd first try normally just plugging the usb cable in while the phone is off, and if it doesn't work, take it apart, unplug the battery, and then plug it in
