Hi,
I have seen YouTube review about real racing 3 which runs smoothly on that Galaxy note 4 however this game is laggy on my Verizon note 4, don't if this is common or snapdragon slower than Samsung Exynox? I am sure the power saving is set to off
Anyone else experience same issue?
Yep, laggy on mine.

Yep, RR3. looking forward to your test results : )
BTW, I just tested the game with power saving mode--restrict performance turned on, and the performance was similar to power saving mode off. So could it be a bug that the restrict performance is set to on by default?
how many FPS ? there are no problem with other games ?
AT&T note 4 here game runs awful compared to my note pro it's slow and choppy and acts like it's running on an outdated processor.
install GameBench you will see the CPU and GPU is not overload, so i guess, it's the game that is not optimized or compatible with the 805 processor

Any idea how to identify the resolution that the game is running on? if it is 2560X1440 then no surprise the game is laggy
i read that can be caused by the DVFS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674928)

I highly doubt it. Pretty sure specs are same in each. I guess they could of underclocked it for us but doubt it. If they did, battery life would be better in our retail note 4s.

Just found a review on www.frandroid.com, it is in France but basically it says the CPU and GPU performance is not stable, While the CPU speed was lowered from 2.7Ghz to 1Ghz after a few minutes the GPU also dropped from 600Mhz to 200MHz. It was tested on RR3 and NOVA 3, and the game was found out rendering in full HD and upscaled to QHD. This is even slower than the LG G3 which features a Snapdragon 801 chip and which the same two games were running on QHD...

Anyway to unlock the 'true performance' of Snapdragon 805 on note 4?

Or is it just in software ?

Beatiful game indeed. I'm a fan already.
Checked GPU performance vs the S2.
It is slightly worse than the S2, but that does not mean that
it is bad.
Still able to play heavy rendering games so I aint complaining.

Certainly not killing the phone at all. Just because it isn't the latest GPU on the market, doesn't mean it's not good at what it does.
The GNEX GPU is fine. I have yet to find a game that struggles to run.
thanks man. you cut stone from my heart
another beat the dead horse topic but i'll kick it again. i think google picked the best gpu for this phone for all the right reasons. i there are 2? better gpu's currently and soon if not already a 3rd? the ps vita is about to come out with sgx 543mp4, which has 4 cores, compared to the iphone4s/ipad2's 543mp2 of only 2 cores. look at how awesome the battery life is of the nexus compared to many many other androids and the iphone 4s. i think it has a lot to do with the whole package, including OMAP"s superb SOC, but the 543mp2 would've been overkill and a battery hog. heck the 543mp2 is overkill for the iphone.
i'm thinking of getting the galaxy s3 (us version) because, i bricked my old phone so i need a new one. my old phone would run games like gta3, max payne, nova3 with lag. I was thinking that because the phone is currently the best phone you can own, it should be able to play games quite easily,BUT i have heard some people say that they got lag on some games, or gameloft games said that the device isn't compatible with the game, so i was wondering what is your personal experience, because gaming so actually pretty important to me :fingers-crossed:
P.S. The only reason i'm not getting the international version is because its out of my price range:crying:, i really don't care about LTE
I have been playing some very high end games with zero lag. The s3 is a great choice for gaming.

what carrier do you have? and how is the web browsing speed? One main probable i had with my current phone was that unless the brightness setting was maxed out, i couldn't use it outdoors? How is multitasking because with 2gb ram it should work flawlessly? How is battery life? i got to highschool so for the first 8 hours of the day i don't use it, and the rest of the day i play some games and listen to music, i don't mind having to charge it every night.

I think as time goes by more games will become compatible, most games aren't even optimized for 4cores so that's where we have the advantage, and yet some how the i93000 make the games work even better than the SGH-I747
P.S What the difference between the SGH-I747 and the SGH-I747M?
Sent from my LG-E739 using XDA Premium App
Hardware wise, there is absolutely no difference between i747 and i747m. Its exactly the same as At&t model. The software is really the only difference and offered by the Canadian carriers.
The i9300 gpu is probably what makes the games run like butter. The Mali outperforms the adreno from what I've read. I'm not sure if quad core would do much other than decrease loading times. If I still had my i9300 I would have compared nova 3 on both. But chose to sell it to get the LTE version. Now I find out that I can't play multiplayer over LTE on nova 3 any workaround ? It looks for wifi only for multiplayer

Thanks your answer was really helpful!!! and I think that the you can't use LTE for multiplayer on ANY games , I think you can only play multiplayer using wifi, I think it has something to do with the fact it would be overload in the cell towers, plus since different company's use different wave lengths, u would only be able to connect to pleople who are the same network.

This phone has been silky smooth and gobbled up everything I've thrown at it. I was shocked at how much faster it is than my Nexus 7, and certainly faster than my Skyrocket.
The only thing that drives me nuts about the processor is the wake lag every time I turn it on from deep sleep. I'll learn to live with it, but this phone would be almost perfect if that were fixed (not including software tweaks).

Yea well reducing the processor to that low of a clock speed is partly responsible for the crazy ass battery life of this phone. I'd rather have another millisecond of unlock time and gain several hours of battery life. Fine with me.

Look at the Engadget review of the Nexus 4. The note 2 (exynos) beat the snapdragon s4 pro in 4/6 benchmarks and they felt like the exy was better in normal use and battery efficiency. Just look up Nexus 4 review on engadget- Nexus 4,Optimus G, note 2 are all compared. Look at the benchmark table. Note 2 wins 4/6.

I've never seen any huge advantage of the Exynos processors over any others, mainly because they are just stock ARM designs. If Samsung wanted to impress me, they would pay for an architecture license. The A6 is pretty hard to beat, given the performance AND battery life, and I really like my S4 Pro, although it is a bit of a juice hog.
The exynos is a heavily modified arm design, and apples a6 is very very similar to it.

That's why you see iphones perform very well despite the specs looking like they are lacking. The iphone 5 after playing with it is just as fast as my Note 2 but it's only dual core and clocked much lower. RAM is also lower.
Pretty sure the reason the a6 is as smooth or smother with lower specs is due to software optimization and the fact it uses 3 core gpu ( which everyone seems to leave out when they make these statements). That is where apple has done good.

It's not compatible with 4.0 or Jelly Bean according to the description of the app.
I just tested Chainfire 3D (granted, on a different device, but that should not make a difference) and it did not enable the higher effects (as it didn't with MC3, either, and both are developed by Gameloft Montreal, I suppose this makes sense). So... there's no real way to enable the high graphics.
Gameloft disabled the effects for a reason... they don't know how to optimize their stuff for most GPUs, so with all effects enabled, I bet it lagged in their testing.
could you guys not just change the model in the build prop on the nexus 4 to that of nexus 7 ?
Does anyone know if the deviceconfig.xml trick works for MC4?

So I'm currently very confused. I downloaded the app called CPU-Z to check out the internals of the G Pro and right up top it said that the chipset is the Snapdragon S4 Pro (keep in mind I'm using the AT&T model). I thought this must be an error of the app, seeing as I knew that the G Pro is supposed to have a Snapdragon 600 chip. I then went to both Antutu and Quadrant, and both stated that the phone has a Qualcomm QTC APQ8064 MTP processor, which I looked up and found is the S4 Pro from last year. I've always wondered why my G Pro tends to lag a bit and why benchmarks aren't as high as the One or the S4. Did I get fooled into thinking this device ran the Snapdragon 600?

Apparently no one knows. I've tried researching but couldn't find anything so I came to this forum. To me, it makes sense that the phone runs last year's S4 Pro like all the benchmarks say, due to the fact that the phone is quite laggy in daily use and scores very low compared to the Galaxy S4 and HTC One in benchmarks, both of which definitely have Snapdragon 600 processors.

24k Antutu low?
Maybe still cpu z bug, check comment at Playstore
Many people have no accurate CPU
Ex: One V = Snapdragon S1, it should be Snap S2
Nexus 4 S600, it should be S4 pro
And post your antutu after disable thermal throttling
Cpu z reports incorrect processor on many models. Att site specs clearly state it has the snapdragon 600 8064t. The clock is at 1.7 which matches the recommended clock for the sd 600. I would not be so quick to think LG would lie about the phones components.

Lol, I never said 24k was low. I mentioned that the G Pro was consistently not meeting anything close to that, as it scored more in the 17k range consistently, which is more indicative of the Snapdragon S4.

No, it just indicates that throttling caps the frequency more aggressively than on HTC1 or SGS4 so to G Pro not to get as hot as them. The same was with Nexus4, it throttled sooner than, say, ASUS Padfone2 and got lower scores in all benchmarks

And here's the CPU Z results from my Galaxy S4, clearly stating that the app knows the difference between the S4 Pro and the Snapdragon 600... The Optimus G Pro does NOT have a Snapdragon 600 processor. Bummer.

What is that, the battery saving Quad Core limiting feature? Yeah, did that. Still though, why is everything listing the device as having an S4 Pro?

Apparently no one knows. I've tried researching but couldn't find anything so I came to this forum. To me, it makes sense that the phone runs last year's S4 Pro like all the benchmarks say, due to the fact that the phone is quite laggy in daily use and scores very low compared to the Galaxy S4 and HTC One in benchmarks, both of which definitely have Snapdragon 600 processors.
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app

Not sure where your lag is coming from or why you have it. I suffer from no lag at all. Smoothest phone ive owned or played with so far. Maybe try a system wipe and reset on your unit. Do you have 19000 widgets open?
How about using this?
Never hurts to get a second opinion:
CPU/RAM/DEVICE identifier app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Bfield.CpuIdentifier&hl=en
CPU-Z reports Exynos 4412 as ARM9 but this app is better so...................
do post your results :cyclops:
Maybe this will solve the questions.
