[Q] Google Hangouts Dialer voice distorted beyond recognition using Bubors CM 10.2 - Samsung Captivate Glide

I Just installed Google Hangouts Dialer to make free VOIP calls on my home wifi. Unfortunately, everyone I call sounds like their voice is slowed down 10x! My girlfriend sounds like a dying old man :crying:
Is anyone else having this problem? A google search shows that people are using Google Search app and Google Now settings to change this, and I have downloaded these apps and changed their settings to no avail.

Google Voice help

I have a google voice account and the app on my G2. I have created different group greetings for friends and numbers I do not know. The problem is everyone gets the same greeting. I have one greeting called blocked which I have set up to take unknown callers and numbers I do not know. The other greeting is called all for friends family etc. The main greeting under the voicemail & text tab is set to blocked. Unfortunately anyone who calls gets the all greeting. Anyone know how to fix this? I have searched the google threads, but there are just questions and no answers.
Thanks

Man you are lucky to get that far!
I installed it and go to sign in and it tells me my G-Mail account is not set up for Google Voice but in my GMail it is there plain as day and I can make calls.
No idea what is up there.
I would try setting things up on the desktop version of Google Voice and see what you get. It's most likely not a G2/Android issue, but rather a Google Voice issue altogether.

[Q] Skype as default dialer

Hi,
I have an evo with DeckRom on it (gingerbread). I'm trying to get skype to be my default dialer, or even better to have it prompt me for what I'd like to use as a dialer (phone or skype).
I can't for the life of me figure this out. Phone doesn't show up under settings-applications-manage-all. I've cleared defaults from gocontacts.
I've tried uninstalling skype, then rebooting the phone and redownloading the app.
Still nothing.
Other thing I might like is the ability to choose google voice to make outgoing calls if that is available.
Thanks in advance.
Bump for this. I'm having the exact same issue on my thunderbolt running stock/rooted debloat. Any help would be great as I'm retiring the thunderbolt and basically turning it intoca glorified pda/voip phone.
Google voice can be set as a default dialer/SMS/voicemail app but Skype I don't believe will set as a default however on decks gb rom in settings under calls you can set up a SIP account for voip calling with no added apps it will use the default dialer to call over ip
When I first installed skype, android gave me the option to choose how to complete the call. I no longer receive that option.

My goal is to either:
1. have the option of using skype, google voice or T mobile when initiating a call from my contacts list
or
2. be able to access and successfully choose a contact from my list when I'm on skype
At some point (I don't know why) my phone stopped giving the choice of using Skype, google voice or TMobile for an outgoing call. I would love to get that back since Skype doesn't allow me to use my phone contact list to make calls. Any ideas on how to achieve my goal?
Please tell me how to have a notification on my email when someone responds to my question.
Thanks

I've also used GrooveIP - although the last time I tried there was a nasty lag and echo, on both LTE and Wifi.
+1 for grooveIP. Tweak your settings to remove echo, I dont have any issues with sound quality.

[Q] Google Voice integration

Hi all, sorry for another question so soon. Anyway, with my old rooted re-rommed Evo 4 I was able to integrate with Google Voice and actually send text messages using Google Voice on the PC or on my tablet. I seem to have been able to get Google Voice "integrated" on the Optimus G, but I don't have the ability to send text messages from PC or tablet. Does anyone know anything at all about this? Any ideas? Thanks!
Aaron
Not sure why you are having that problem. My Google voice is working right. I was just on the PC yesterday sending texts.

Might have to remove your phone from Google voice and re add it?
I've had issues with Goggle Voice also that once I Integrate my sprint number with google voice, anybody that tries to calls me gets a busy signal. Don't even know how to fix this.
I've also had problems with google voice, whenever someone calls me and I answer, it goes straight to voicemail and I can even hear google voice talking.

Try uninstalling the GV app in the Play store then download it again. It should bring you through the settings again to confirm carrier integration. If that doesn't work go to voice.google.com on the computer, click the little gear on the top right, click settings and check the phone settings. You should see the little sprint logo next to your phone number.

This is not a "problem" but a feature... They call it call screening. Press 1 to accept the call, even after the person has started leaving a message. I turned off this feature. Go to voice.google.com on the computer, click the little gear on the top right, click settings, then click the tab for "Calls". Call screening is the first option, turn it off.
I only know all this because I have used GV since it first came out, then integrated immediately when Sprint made it an option.
Thanks all for the replies. I did as suggested and uninstalled google voice then reinstalled. It still wouldn't let me send texts from PC or tablet, but I guess I wasn't patient enough, because a short while later those features became available. So I guess for whatever reason there was a delay but I'm in business now.

I think there might also have been a slow-down on GV's end the past couple of days; I just received a voicemail from last night and a text from earlier this AM, so there might've been some general strangeness afoot as well.

[Q] voicemail with CM11 on sprint note 2

I just successfully updated to CM11 and I no longer have a voicemail app and I can't seem to find a way to check voicemail (I left myself one, so I know one should be there.) I tried reading and searching, but couldn't find anything.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Ok, well I found the voicemail apk , but now I can't stop getting the 9016 text. URGH! Looking around it looks like blacklisting is the best option? I don't use google voice, but I do you hangouts for sms.

I've never had any luck getting a VM app to work on any of the custom ROMS I've tried as it would work on TouchWiz. To access my VM on Sprint I call my own phone number. You can add a one touch dial widget to dail your phone number to make it a bit more automated.
I'd rec Google Voice. Works like a charm all the time...and isn't feature bricked like Sprint VVM. Oh yea and works on any ROM.
Thanks for advice It helped me, i switched to visual voicemail app though
