Hi!
On my older Xperia devices (mini pro, Play, pro) i had to enter the PIN code after disabling airplane mode. With my Z and my Z1C that has changed, after disabling the Airplane mode i dont Need to anter the PIN code.
Is there any possibility to get the "PIN code checking" back??
Best regards

How does one change the settings to allow a PIN authentication before the usage of phone everytime? I tried to activate the PIN under the 'Phone Settings' option but it seems that it already has an old PIN which i am not aware of and until one knows that, it wont let a new PIN be set up. As a cautionary note, there are only 3 chances to set the PIN, i dont know what happens if you fail at all three attempts...may be it'll lock the phone/ SIM? Does anybody know more on this....care to share!
Thanks
You wanto go the the 'Lock' settings and setup that your phone locks itself after so many minutes and what password you want to unlock it.
Unlike traditional GSM phones, Windows Mobile does not use the GSM Pin mechanism due to the fact that Windows Mobile did not originate as a phone device and thus used its own locking mechanism.
I imagine you could lock the SIM card by entering the wrong PIN or if you flagged in the SIM card itself that a PIN needed to be entered to active the SIM (as thats how the GSM technology works in that even if you transfer the SIM it will still ask you to unlock that SIM card in another device). However, due to the nature of how Windows Mobile works your device would still be accesible, just not the network related tasks of calls and data. So I would recommend just using the Lock settings.
All SIM cards (unlike Windows Mobile) have a default PIN code as it can't be blank. Ask T-Mobile what it is (or it may be in the manual), but it generally is either 0000, 1111, or 1234. But don't try too many times as that will lock the SIM card and you will need a PUK code to unlock it.
Hey thanks for your reply, its pretty comprehensive and it worked for me. You were right, the options of the PIN under phone settings are :
1. For authentication at the time that the phone is starting up after a shut down or restart.
2. For SIM authentication.
But i was looking for locking my fone when i am not using it and as u said that feature is under the LOCK settings.
Thanks again for your input.
Would it be possible to switch your sims without needing to reboot?

I think the network is locked, with Omnius for SE unlock, although omnius display unlock success but my mobile phone was unable to register the network.
May I have a solution?
I want to make sure I provide as much info as possible and I appreciate any help which is offered. I'm currently in Latvia with my T-mobile Note 2. I received the sim unlock code prior to leaving the U.S. and applied it upon purchasing a Latvian sim and entering the sim card pin. The phone grants me access but immediately begins locking up and issuing an error window stating "unfortunately, Com.android.phone has stopped."
When I enter the mobile settings (which is difficult to do in between crashes) the latvian network is recognized shortly but I cannot change any settings and the network indicator in the pulldown always says searching. I've tried to change the network mode before hand from Automatic LTE/3G/2G to 3G/2G or whatever, but that doesn't help.
If I place the device into Airplane mode, it stops crashing and I can use wifi (which I'm doing now)
Here are my device details:

Short of trying a factory reset, have you tried clearing data from the telephony related APKs?
Perhaps the SIM is a dud?
Okay i own a desire 816, bought it a couple of days back. I changed the lock screen security from pattern to password. After setting the password when i enter the password it says wrong password and doesn't unlock. The WiFi is turned off and so are other wireless networks, Also i cant go to hboot menu cause fastboot is ticked. ADb wont work cause USB debugging isn't enabled either. And the "forgot your password" thing is also not appearing. Help me please. I have the dual sim version.:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Please help
I'm not sure if there is an "emergency" bypass for the lock screen. Worse comes to worse you'll have to do a factory reset
