Hey guys am in a bit of a pickle my phones on the uk network EE. Am having a problem with my text messages sending, my phone will send around 10 messages fine but then after that they will be suck in limbo sending. They wont send until i either reset the phone or airplane mode on and off. This happens then i have full signal and with multipule numbers am trying to messsge. I have reset my apn settings and made sure they are correct as with ee, and i have done a reset on my phone and still the problem is there any ideas guys?
This happens to me too mate. It seems to be a purely EE issue. I've created a new apn with the attached settings and its only happened once since I've done that and its been about 6 weeks now.

Could also be a failing Sim card

Multiple users have already attempted the sim card replacement solution, it didnt work. Testing APN changes currently, changed SMS service centre too to test it, that didn't work either.
Tried a different rom, and a different factory rom too that didn't solve it either.
Sadly it's the EE update to 4.4.3. I've had exactly the same trouble and have reset phone twice so far, only solution is to roll back to 4.4.2 using a stock nandroid backup. Or go s-off and change cid to super

hi, my mobile internet stopped working a few days ago, it wasnt after an update or anything, the only thing i can think of is i enabled installing to sd card and put it back to normal.
my phone was and is unrooted desire stock latest firmware. im on O2 postpay.
ive attempted to fix it by checking all the apn settings, restarting my phone, turning my phone off for ten minutes, factory reset, but still it seems i have no internet even with the right settings..
i turn wifi off, mobile internet is switched on, i do not get any mobile internet icon up top, and of course nothing.
any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

I have faced similar issue as you describe here. I had internet until I installed an application on my HTC Desire (Froyo 2.2). It was some application which would let me access my HTC files through a web interface from my LAN PC. After I uninstalled the app I did not have access to the internet though it was connecting to WiFi.
Issue was solved when I did a factory reset of the phone, I lost all my apps and contacts, but after this internet was working again on my phone. Now I'm thinking that I better had to check what was the VPN parameters set as I believe that program could set some values there without reverting back after uninstalling it.
Hope this helps.
hi thanks for the reply but as i said, i have done a factory reset and its still not working..
Im on O2 uk and my data stopped working today, my apn name had the word void at the end???? i reset to defaults and its been ok since.
i guess O2 had some problems
Mine never said void but ive reset it to default many times, no change

Just a though
Do you have any VPN declared in the settings?
(Settings/Wireless & networks/VPN Settings)
No.
But its sorted now. I got the new sim but it didnt work so i went back and they said when they switched the sim they accidentally removed the free internet bolt on.
I think they may have bullshitted me somewhere but it works now anyway.

I just got a G2. perm rooted it. and everytime upon booting up it has signal for 1 second then literally just disappears and never comes back. can't choose mobile network or anything because it can't search for it. tried doing *#*#infor#*#* and it says GSM ONLY and everytime i try to change it to WCDMA PREFERRED it keeps reverting back as soon as i exit. the only way i've been able to get signal back so far is to connect to wifi and enable wifi calling, then after disconnecting i'm able to get signal and i'm able to check the WCDMA PREFERRED option but awhile ago i was on wifi calling then left my house and it was disconnected but wasn't able to get signal again.
can anyone help me with what i should do because although i might be able to get it back through wifi calling, this will be very problematic whenever i'm not near my normal wifi locations...
thanks for the help
Eh... I would try reinstalling a stock rooted rom.

Is it factory unlocked? Have you used an unlock code? Have you tried the full radio s off, super Cid thing?

I wonder if your SIM card is faulty, needs cleaning, or is just a bit loose in the socket.

This is what it sounds most like to me. Also try to install another rom since you have it rooted now and see if that fixes the issue. Make sure you do a Nandroid backup first though!

I never put an unlock code and I'm still on tmobile. I called them and so far I haven't had trouble with signal as much but my number doesn't show up under status in about phone settings...it just says unknown. Its only on this phone though, my n1 shows my number with this sim.

No it wasn't. For the past couple of days since calling tmobile, its been significantly better but today I did randomly have that same problem of no connection, but mostly right now my problem is my g2 not being able to read my phone number in "status" under "about phone" settings but it does on my n1. When I called tmobile they tried sending my number ota 3 times with no luck...

During the first 30 days you can go to a TMO store and get a new phone, pretty much "no questions asked". I'd go ahead and do that if I was you. Oh, go to a corporate store though, not a mall kiosk.
While you're there, get a new SIM, too. All free of charge.
If you still have the same problem after that, I'd try an exorcist
Is this problem solved now ? I got the same problem but have no chance to return it back.
If there is the way to solve it, could you please inform and share
Thx

My signal problems seemed to be resolved, at least for the past week. It was resolved by calling tmobile customer support and they did some tests. However, my phone not recognizing my phone number under settings> about phone> status, is still a problem. Even tried getting a new sim and still didn't solve the problem. Did numerous OTAs with tmobile that didn't work. My number still shows up on caller id and stuff its just that menu thing. Sounds insignificant but some apps use that to determine your phone number. Also, when putting my sim back into my nexus one, it does show my number...

Nevermind, my other problem was just resolved after reading a post in the cm6.1.1 thread. Settings-call settings-additional settings-my phone number.

OK, I have been dealing with this since I bought my GSII and cannot find any information about it.
Firstly I want to say that I am completely stock and unrooted.
My phone does not like to keep a stable data connection. About 50% of the time, when I try to do anything that requires a data connection (facebook, browser, gmail, etc.) the 2 arrows under the 2g/3g/4g icon will stick being grey and my phone just sits there "loading". I tried a factory reset, didn't install any apps, and also got a new sim card and the issue remains. It happens everywhere so it is not just a bad network connection.
I decided to post the question here because yesterday I was playing with my brother's GSII, and his did the same thing.. So it made me think that maybe it wasn't just me. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know what might be the cause?
Edit: I set my phone to use 2g only, and the problem vanished.. So it doesn't like to connect to 3g/4g.

Try going to your mobile network connection settings, choose access point names, hit your menu button and click "restore defaults".. It may fix it, I had data issues and it did the job. Hope it works for you!

Do what the gut above me said. Also call Tmobile and tell them, they will refresh your data connection on their end. That will clear up three problems your having.
But if it's also happening to your brothers phone, it's a network error. Call Tmobile.

I restored the apn settings and had Tmobile refresh my data connection, and it still happens. I noticed today that it's not just data, I'm also unable to call or text when it happens.. Tmobile just said everything tested normal so there is nothing they can do.. And I really don't think it's the phone so I don't want to exchange for a refurbished unless I have to.

Its happened to me before. For about a week, the data connection just dropped. It would come back for a bit and later vanish. I called t-mobile and they guided me through routine steps (i.e. taking the battery out, rebooting, resetting) but nothing seemed to work. They really couldn't figure it out and later told me to replace the SIM. I can't remember if they shipped me one or had to go to the store but either way that relieved the problem. This was on an HTC HD2.
That might not be the case with you though. At one point in time all the phones under my name lost data connectivity just as you explain. This really had no solution but to wait it out.

you mentioned your brother's is doing the same thing, its probably not the phone, but rather the cell tower your connected to is fuggin up. Try going 5 miles from where you currently are and see if its still happening.
Network error
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
Just in case it's not a cell tower or network problem . . . My SGS2, purchased in October, had the same symptoms as the OP. After trying everything the OP did, and more, I came to the conclusion that the firmware on the phone was corrupt. I used Odin to flash the factory stock ROM & Kernel images (2.3.5 at the time). There was a definite improvement in the faltering/hesitant/fail connectivity problem at that point, but it was still very subpar. So I then also flashed, again using Odin, the baseband ("modem") image - I did it twice for good measure. The problem was finally immediately solved at that point and I had very prompt loading of webpages, etc. Still working fine months later (and even better with a custom ROM). See the thread entitled "[Q]Is there a "true" factory restore for T-Mobile Galaxy S II?" for help about the seemingly same symptoms/problem you (and your brother) are experiencing. If your underlying problem is in fact the same as mine (and the poster of the thread I cited) then it's apparently either a bad factory flash or a post-factory corruption occurrence that is causing your problem . . . the coincidence of your brother also having the same problem aside. Good luck!

Hey, for some reason my mobile data/gps decided to stop working this morning.
I used my data on my way home from work last night, set the phone to charge and when I left I noticed I had no data connection.
I check throughout the day and nothing but I continued to get text messages and calls.
Sending MMS message also seemed to have stopped working.
Is it something thats messed up with my phone? I tried changing settings in the ROM, going back to stock, nothing seemed to have worked. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Checked it properly. Checked the ones from my providers website. Tried different ROMs. It doesn't seem to work.

Call your provider and confirm that you still have a data package on your plan. Im not sure how long you had your phone or if you got a new phone but whenever i switch between phones and ATT scans for the new IMEI number and it doesnt match what they have, they always kick my data off and then i have to call them to have it added back.
Hi guys, i m from indonesia. Just helping my friends. He bought sprint lg g2 and injected with our local cdma provider. The phone also been unlock for using gsm.
All went fine for couple months, but last week suddenly it cannot make a call or received a call, but data access work fine. Tried to reebot, change other sim card but it does not solve the problem. This notification appear when it turn on " we can't complete this activation over the device" and after that there is other notif said " hands free activation".
The phone is completly stock never been rooted or instal twrp.
Will factory reset will solve it, or we have to contact sprint for this matter.
Thanks in advance.
