I have had my P607T for a couple of months now. It is box stock no changes. Over the last few weeks I have noticed that it will reboot while using various apps. (Fliipboard, Chrome, Clash of Clans, Papyrus...) They don't seem to all be heavy graphics or network. The only symptom is that the screen starts to flash then "bang" reboot (and trouble rebooting when not plugged in). It would not be too annoying except that it will loose wifi settings and the wallpaper. I have tried different wallpapers (saw a thread blaming the live wallpapers ) Unloaded some apps (had another phone issue with FitBit and HTC blink on my N4). I stay away from CoC (my base has been raided so often now ...). Any thoughts? I am really trying to like this tablet more than my old ASUS Transformer but this reboot and reset wifi is a pain.
Thanks in Advance,
marka

Have you tried a factory reset? I'd make tmobile replace it
was hoping to avoid the reset button. Tried it and still giving trouble it rebooted while restoring apps. I bought the tablet on ebay, I don't think TMO will take it back. oh well I'll keep poking about.
thanks,
I experience exactly the same problem since the update to 4.4.2 (kitkat): The screen starts to flash, suddenly the tablet reboots. I tried a factory reset multiple times, also removed the SD card and reflashed the ROM via KIES, nothing helped so far. Also, even when plugged into the outlet for several hours the tablet didn't charge at all (I think it stopped charging when the screen saver kicks in).
A couple of weeks ago I filed a RMA request (my dealer sent the tablet to Samsung), yesterday I got it back. It was charged at 60% and when I plugged it to the outlet it actually charged (even when the screen went off). But after about one hour (the battery was still > 60%) the flashing reappeared and after a while the tablet started to reboot again. Interestingly the battery now showed only 2% and the low battery warning appeared.
I think the problem might occur only when the battery runs low (which happens very fast as something seems to drain the battery), while android still shows a much higher battery level . Never experienced these problems when the tablet was plugged in so far.

At least I don't feel so alone with this issue... I have been paying more attention to my build up process since the factory reset. I found, the other night quite by accident, that when I logged in to Twitter the reboot started. So for the next few days I have left Twitter off the machine and it is doing better. I suspect that something is hitting the power drain (like you mention) and that causes it to have problems. In that thought I have also turned off the power saving mode and auto screen now just to add to the list of things I am avoiding.

Have you considered rooting and using root apps to stop the apps from being able to do such things?

Can we put together a list of known issues with this phone for those of us who are thinking of switching so we can see everything in one place instead of having to sort through all the mess to find the issues and resolutions. Thanks
This list is just a copy and paste of the main points listed in the first 5 pages so far to save you some reading. Its just a summary, nothing more.
- vertical lines on some models with specific box date
- dead red pixel on some models
- some models has odd camera flash light, when powering off
- occasional errors when playing media on the sd card
- battery has stayed stuck at "100%"
- WiFi settings shows connected to the correct network but keeps scanning (Power saving mode problem.)
- lock screen locks up me sometimes
- wouldn't stay powered down while charging
- it takes quiet some time to charge up
- it's always warm even when not it use, but it gets super hot when charging
- screen lock bug
- take a pic, then tap the gallery button in the camera app, share to facebook, will not upload, says cannot locate pic. go to regular gallery, upload pic same way and it works fine.
- issue with the display staying on
- games freezing up and crashing after about 5- 10 mins of game play
- trouble with data when connected to wifi.
- wifi works but the 4g will not get internet access.
- music player other than orginal makes all kind of funny things skipping ,play not play or stock
- rebooting

Same here, rebooted on its own after about 2 days of up time. No other issues besides that.
so, off all the stuff i've read in the forum thus far:
the list is something like this:
- vertical lines on some models with specific box date
- dead red pixel on some models
- some models has odd camera flash light, when powering off
lags and some apps performance, or network speed stuff doesn't count
anything else missing?
minor heads up
lets keep this topic only for confirmed issues.
One thing to add- occasional errors when playing media on the sd card. I'm having a hell of a time with Doggcatcher & some music players saying that the media cannot be read.

that's a good one
and it sounds very familiar, back in the SGS1 days, there was similar problem.
using another media player should avoid that problem

Yeah it works fine with PlayerPro, but I'm still trying to find another podcatcher that I like. I'm kinda pissed that I paid almost $7 for Doggcatcher & now it barely works >:|
So far my only issue is that the battery has stayed stuck at "100%" twice now (only had the phone for a week obviously). Both times it was in the morning after the phone had charged all night, and then I take it with me for school/work. I used it for a few hours at school and it stayed at a 100% so I took it by T-mobile and they hadn't seen that before.
They did the same thing I did which was remove the battery and restart the phone. After that it read correctly (around 76% or something). Still I don't want to have to pull my battery every day after it gets a full charge. I'm going to see what it does tomorrow in the morning and go from there....anyone else have this issue?
please report that bug directly to samsung on the stickied link

Haha yeah I can deal with it from time to time maybe, but I don't wanna be doing every freaking morning haha
I also have the 100% battery bug. I don't have to pull the battery though, just doing a reset by power off/on works to clear it. It *is* kind of annoying though...
I have seen this as well. It happened the last two mornings after charging overnight.
I have same issue. keep showing 100% battery indicator.
Wow lots of people having isSue wiTh the 100% battery thing hopefully that getS sorteD soon.
Edit: I HATE typing on this freaking iPad sometimes!
I saw the battery stuck at 100% as well on mine. Another thing i noticed that i have the WiFi ON all the time. So while i'm in office it is connected to the WiFi and the phone sits in my pocket for about an hour or more before i actually use it (using another phone at work), so after i wanna use it and it shows the WiFi connected symbol but no connection. Go to WiFi settings and shows connected to the correct network but keeps scanning. Turn Off WiFi and turn it back ON and its running again. Although i did not noticed this issue at home. Is it that at home my phone is always on table and not in my pocket....is it something to do with my my pocket
Power saving mode problem. When activated, it turns off gps, wifi, blue tooth etc.. (Whatever you choose) at specified battery level. However, when power is recharged past the set power saving mode point it doesn't turn these features back on. So annoying.
So when fully recharged, you have to go back and manually re-enable your gps, wifi, screen brightness etc..
This seems like a software issue, do the other brand gs2's have this problem?
**Also have the 100% battery bug.
My Galaxy S II wouldn't stay powered down while charging. Everytime I turned the device off while charging it would automatically power back on. I honestly wasn't sure if that was simply the way the phone was designed (which would be odd), but sure enough at the T-Mobile store today we opened up a brand new Galaxy to see if it would remain 'off' while charging. Sure enough, it could.
Long story short, I have the 100% battery malfunction, and an "unable to charge turned off" issue. Swapping out phones at T-mobile as we speak Another GSII btw, even with these annoying issues its a great phone. I think (hope) I just got a lemon?
I'm looking for any ideas for the problem I'm having on my G2. I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and not much I can do about it.
I started having problems after upgrading from CM 7.1 to 7.2, but I don't think it was related to the upgrade. I started having battery draining problems, the phone took forever to get fully charged, and car mode would automatically start sometimes when plugging up or unplugging the charger. I cleaned the usb port with alcohol (with battery removed), let dry, and restarted. Now I don't have the car mode problem and the battery problem is somewhat better.
My problem now is that the phone will just die when I'm using it. Usually when I'm using the browser. I'll be scrolling on a page and the phone will just turn itself off. Like the battery died. I can turn the phone back on and it will start up, get all the way started back up, but while it is still loading the home screen widgets, it will go off again. I can repeat this several times. The only way to recover is to plug in the charger. I don't have to hit the power button again, just plugging in the charger will start up recovery mode automatically, I'll choose reboot and the phone will start normally then and stay on.
The phone never dies when I'm not using it. I'll carry it all day, making phone calls on and off, and it'll stay on with no problem. Mostly, I only have the problem when using the browser. Also had the problem while using my newsreader. Once during playing a game. But if I start up browsing the internet, it doesn't take long before it will turn itself off. A matter of a couple of minutes. I don't have the problem with reading emails with K9. Don't have a problem in downloading from the internet such as podcasts. Don't have a problem in sending text messages. Don't recall it shutting down while using the Facebook app. After putting up with this for a week, some troubleshooting and observations.
I never have this problem if the charger is plugged in. Only when it is running fully from the battery.
I've tried swapping to a different battery.
Turned down the overclocking with no difference.
I've changed to other recoveries, CM 7.2, CM 7.1, a CM 7.1 that I was running in May. No difference.
I've swapped memory cards.
I've reset battery stats.
No difference if running on wifi or just data.
Clearing caches made no difference.
So, I start thinking it must be a hardware problem, but then why does it only crop up when internet browsing. Must be power related since plugging in the charger makes it go away, but why does it not have a problem with using the phone in other ways?
Any suggestions on what I could try?
You could try to see if there is too much voltage drop when you start something power-hungry. Use a battery voltage logger and post the results. Start logging, let the phoneidle for a minute and then start browsing. Even if the phone shut off, the log should still be there after rebooting.
Thanks for the idea. I can't locate a logger that looks like it would work. It would have to capture a quick drop in voltage that is momentary. This problem happens even on a full battery and when the phone come back on (either momentarily or after a recovery reboot) the battery level is unchanged.
You might try as well an other way: first idle, then gradually step up to a more power hungry app to see when the problem actually happens. I have no other ideas...
Make sure that you dont have any contact with the battery and the door.
Normally batteries are covered with an aluminum wrap, and can cause short-cuts with the phone itself.
I searched it for a while with the galilio batteries.
You can try to put some saranhwrap around the battery.
I have the same problem with two different batteries. But I'm ready to try that too.
Battery graph
So here's a graph of my battery status. Long time to charge to 100%. Discharges pretty rapidly. Each downturn ends in the phone turning itself off. Notice that at 7:30 today, it turned itself off, I did a recovery reboot, then noticed it wasn't charging very well (green line turns to blue but doesn't increase), then I did a manual reboot and when the phone restarted, it showed the battery was at 100% charge (from about 60% before the reboot).
What do you think - hardware or software?

Well, I just took the cover off for awhile and tried it. Played crosswords (Shortz) for awhile with no problems. Started my newsreader (Newsrob) and it shut itself off in about 15 seconds. So, no short to the battery cover.
Same thing is happening to me. I use poweramp or the browser and the G2 just shuts off. Then I restart it and it tells me that the battery is low. Once I shut it down and reboot in recovery and wipe the battery cache it's back to it's normal battery level. I disabled data and set my phone for 2G networks only and it didn't shut off after. I'm assuming this is a wireless issue? I'm running mimicry 1.3.0 on my G2.
Had the same problem. Swapped out batteries and problem gone.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
Did you swap the battery and immediately have no further problems? I tried swapping my battery already and still have the same problem.
I can not seem to clear my Issue of the battery always showing 80%.
I have reflashed back to Stock, but still the same problem.
Even when I had TWRP recovery installed it showed as 80%.
Any ideas how to fix this please?
you have infinite battery, be happy!
I wish
Fixed it by flashing Open EU H815.kdz file once again and now the battery use is showing correctly.
Edit: The problem is back again!!!!
After several hours when it seemed okay, I put the phone back on charge and Bingo.
Stuck back at 80% again, even on my other original LG Battery, and to top it all i have a stuck LED on faint green.
WTF???
I had the same problem before, how many apps do you have installed? Does it charge in safe mode? If not, does it charge to 100% when the phone is powered off?
Tried Safe Mode and the same problem persists.
The battery seems to charge fully but the OS is not showing it correctly
Hmm, in my case, it was always stuck at 74%/75% and it doesn't charge more regardless what the indicator says. What about if you powered off the phone and charge, does it actually go past 80% and to 100%? I fixed my problem as I had 739 apps installed incuding system apps so I greenified everything except for those I needed and that fixed the problem, not only am I getting more than 2 hours of battery life regardless if the screen was on or not, it's now 12 hours or so of battery life with a few hours of screen time but the charging is fixed. Before I used to also have problems installing in Google Play Store, it would actually sit there doing nothing after the download and install when it feels like it even after a hour or it can install fast.
Tried charging while turned off and still gives the same reading.
Last night I reset the phone and left the battery out for 30 mins before re-inserting and setting up the phone once again.
So far it seems to be fixed and showing correct battery %.

Sure, see attached.... Please note that I am including the system apps in the app count as this is what's reported by Titanium Backup *root. I was wrong, I seem to still be getting the stuck battery percentage indicator which can happen at 73/74% or even 97%.
It seems the stuck battery charging % problem came back when I changed the brightness to 100% Auto but went away when I changed it to 0% Auto. I had the problem at 38% Auto too.
Is there any workaround? I just flashed my LG G4 from 10a to 10e and Rooted it. And It happened exact the same.
After a reboot I didn't have Service IMEI Null . This happened twice in a row, after that it magically resolved and now I have Service and IMEI... But after some reboots I started noticing that LED green turned on and the 80% Stuck Battery....
Im experiencing the same issue battery stuck at 80% and green led stuck on. Issue went away however battery life was appallingly bad, went from 1.5 days battery life to struggling to last a day. Battery stuck at 80% has come back today.
I have tried factory reset, upgrading from 10c to 10e.
i'm having the same problem: battery level stuck at 80%, network set to 3G but not actually connecting, and the inability to charge the battery when it is in the phone - even though it says "charging" the percentage kept dropping (tried different chargers, cables, batteries, and even wireless charger - i can only charge using a separate charger). the battery not charging started about a week ago. the 80%/3G issue started this morning.
no root or any other mods, very few apps installed. i've had the phone about 6 months. verizon. 13B. 5.1.
i did wake up the other day to a frozen "firmware update" screen, but it has not come back, and i've checked for updates (to 6.0 maybe) with no success. this "firmware" screen was after the battery stopped charging, but before the 80% problem. i had to pull the battery after it sat there a few hours (it said "don't disconnect USB" even though USB was never connected, and there was a progress bar at 0%).
UPDATE: this thing may be falling apart in front of my eyes. now my service is disabled and I have no network connection showing up at all.

Try taking the SD card out, if that doesn't work take the sim card out and then back in. That normally gets the service working again for me.
I had this same issue and sent it back to the supplier, they than forwarded it onto LG who couldn't find any issue with it. Im now waiting for it to be sent back to me.
Are you using a 3rd party (non-OEM) battery by any chance? I ask because I had the same issue occasionally when using a non-LG battery. It would fix itself after a few reboots or by installing the LG battery that came with the phone. I truly believe based on my experience, and others (there is another thread related to this exact problem) that the issue is purely battery related. Even the service disabled symptom.

I don't have a 3rd party battery so I don't think that's my issue
OEM battery for me. I did remove SD card, and reseated the SIM: no help.
This is my current work around: Turn off phone. Charge battery to 100% with phone off (overnight). Turn phone on.
It seems to charge fine (and have accurate %) when the phone is off. Then it powers up with accurate battery percentage and 4G coverage. Note, I've only tried this twice, but it worked both times.
I'm having the same issue. Battery stuck at 80% and green constant notification light. Not rooted BTW.
I assume LG will investigate the issue while I am stuck with no phone for weeks.
I should have never bought a non nexus phone...
I have searched as much as I can, but can't find any info on this. It has happened on both mine and my wife's M8, but only after updating to Marshmallow. If the phone dies suddenly without being able to shut down fully most of the time it will lose certain settings, like sounds, data and Wi-Fi turned off, saved Wi-Fi networks gone, etc. If it happens while starting up it has lost whole apps, all contacts; mostly acting like a first boot but some installed apps, settings, call history, text messages, etc did remain. Any ideas?

It's a glitch with HTC's Marshmallow version. It happens on stock as well as custom ROMs. Nothing to do but wait for an update from them, or always make sure your battery stays charged. It happens to me at 6%
Same Problem but phone dies at 20%-30%

I am having the same problem, heaps of settings change, including default keyboard, messaging app quick settings wifi etc
if my phone was dying at 5%i could deal with it but it is dying anywhere between 20 and 30% and often catches my unawares.
An update to fix this would be great.
Yup, I have the same problem only I don't lose saved wifi networks but I get signed out of every single app. I also get a google play services error which requires me to clear the apps data.
Snap!
I have been having these problems for the past 4 months (running Lollipop)
I thought that the Wifi passwords issue and app logouts was due to low system memory. (battery would die around 15%)
Since doing a factory reset and 2 weekends ago, the battery dies around 25% and I still experience app log outs etc.
My device is close to the 24month warranty limit and I need a fix urgently.
I also have Bluetooth call random clipping happening both on lollipop and Marshmallow.
This is killing me. Any fixes yet?
Lately it's been losing home screen icons and a couple settings even when I manually shut the phone down. Ironically yesterday when it died suddenly some previously missing icons I had yet to restore reappeared.
please!! any Fix ???
Any fix??? My phone does this too, and its becoming more often than a weekly thing now
A few times now manually shutting the phone down before the battery dies has led to all Google related icons (Chrome, YouTube, Play Music, etc.) being removed from my home screens and having to manually re-add them. When the battery dies it's a roll of the dice what, if anything, will be changed/lost.
In addition to almost everything already said RE: most customization is lost, apps and widgets disappear on restart, etc. I've noticed that all of the (mostly AT&T) apps that I disabled are enabled and updated when the phone comes back on! This is so annoying and is my first major problem with this phone! It's taking time to have to redo all my settings each time the phone dies!
Same problem here very annoying especially as I have to phone bank to reset my mobile banking app as it screws the settings in this. #leaveitoncharge
Yesterday mine died at 30%, and upon restarting it went through the "Optimizing Applications 1 of 261" then proceeded to come up with a warning that the phone had an internal error and might be unstable until doing a factory reset. After clearing the warning it was stuck in a "Sense Home has stopped working" loop until I could get into Settings and clear the data for Sense Home. This allowed me to at least make sure things were backed up before doing a factory reset, but more than half of my contacts were missing as well as many text, call history, etc. A similar thing happened with the wife's M8 last week and had to factory reset hers then too.
I had this problem and had my battery and main board replaced in the final month before 24 m warranty ran out.
Do a battery test *#*#3424#*#*
Then hit more, and select battery test.
Battery has to be 100% to complete teat which takes an hour. Do this when you don't need it.
My test would often show 91-94% but I had one that said 71% which I saved a screen shot.
Since the battery and main board replacement it's still my favourite phone.
solve the problem of battery and loss of settings , change the battery of my htc, now everything is fine , 3 days that the battery is discharged properly , I hope this information will help someone.
Not positive I've lost settings, though I'm fairly certain I have. I have lost app permissions many times. And my phone seems to die around 30% and won't let me boot unless I am plugged into charger. I was recently forced into a factory reset due to a message that popped up just like a somebody else a few posts back. This is a recently replaced phone (VZW replaced it as the prior had battery problems). The prior one did not do this. I hope HTC get's their act together and fixes the issue. Highly annoying.
Ive been having this issue since the beginning of the year and now it seems to happen every few days. I pretty much don't have a choice but to buy a new phone at this point, which sucks because I love my m8.
This is exactly the same issue I've been having. I'm at my wits end with having to re-do all of my settings and apps daily, and sometimes (randomly!) it won't hang onto a charge for more than a few hours even if I'm barely using it. I basically have to leave it on a charger all the time to keep it from shutting down and losing all my settings! I used to love my M8, but for the first time ever I'm considering swapping to a Samsung just to get away from these issues. I've had this phone for a little over two years and these problems only just started around March 2016 - but they've been an absolute constant since then, and only getting worse.
After charging phone to 100 it will only work for short time and then it will randomly shuts down (usually the moment u use it, like unlocking the screen or getting a call). And then it wont turn on until u start charging. Sometimes when u plug it back in battery is at ~90%, sometimes it goes back to 0. I was thinking it was battery's fault but almost every time this happens my phone does some kind of soft reset, sometimes my themes reset back to stock, sometimes my saved wifi dissapear, notification settings reset, etc. Phone has the screen replaced a year ago too if that could add to it.
You can try to revert it to stock, but most probably is a battery problem.
I've been using my phone for 3 years already and a half year ago I noticed that id didn't hold a charge when the battery went below 30 % . it randomly shut down below 30 % epsecially when I tried to take photos or use flash (that require high Amperage) . Sometimes it restarted itself after unexpected shut down and as I noticed dalvik cache was formatted/deleted. so I had to login to my google account set themes and etc. after I upgradet to 7.0 every unexpected shut down began to worry me becaouse even app data began to dissapear. So a week ago I ordered a new battery and now I am relieved . in my opinion it's 100% battery problem .
Definitely a dead battery. 3 years is a long time for these batteries. You did well to get that long from it!.
Thank you for this thread. I was starting to go loopy because I thought it may have been some app. Same issue and I need to find a battery guy.
