I remember having this boot animation on my old EVO 4G that was like a computer booting up. Showing the certain components being checked or started and such. I was wondering if that by any chance anybody has seen anything similar for this phone?

Download Rom toolbox. It is under the boot animation section

If you are on EL29 the bootanimation theard in the themes section of this forum should be enough to get you up and running.

It didn't.... Apparently I been there before, I forgot.... But no one helped me

Well I'm fresh out of ideas, I made a thread about changing the bootanimation and got an answer but that works for ICS and I do not know if it works for GB.

Here's your fix. If you are using a stock rom but a kernel that supports boot animation (and you are rooted), using rootexplorer or a similiar app go into system/bin. Find samsungani and rename it to samsungani.bak. Now find bootanimation in system/bin and rename bootanimation to samsungani. Thats it. Now all bootanimations correctly placed in the system/media file and named bootanimation will work upon boot...

Like I said, our of ideas I'm using stock ff18 with agat's kernel. No othertweaks or mods. And it works fine. Can even switch animatioms using rom toolbox.

Where is the install location set to? Data/local or system/media? With rom toolbox I think the default is data/local. Also did you rename the files in system/bin?

Data/local? I'll try that, I thought it was in system/media. And romtoolbox stock was system/media
NOT DATA/LOCAL. IDK where its supposed to go

I said I had to push the boot ani in both locations. (System/media and Data/local)And refresh my memory, you did change to two files in system/bin? (Samsungani - samsungani.bak. and bootanimation - samsungani)

Have you tried Absolute System Root Tools, I've been using this app for a while (on gb & ics) it comes with a lot of bootanimations and makes changing them easy
As far boot sound look in /system/etc for a file called PowerOn.ogg rename it to .bak and place your desired file there just name it PowerOn and it should work
Hope this helps

Hi. I'm a complete novice, and I don't understand what you did to fix this problem. Is there a easier way to get rid of this error.
Cheers

have you disabled animator duration scale at developer options? if yes, then make it 0.5x or higher, reboot phone. If it didnt help then you have disabled or deleted some system apps which gives you that fc...
I haven't changed any of the settings in Development Options as it gives a warning. I don't believe I've deleted any of the system files as I've yet to attach it to a computer (other then putting some music on)

I've changed my boot logo recently to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeb1Fixnu7E&feature=youtube_gdata_player
When installing, the tutorial says that the audio file goes into a certain folder. No matter what, I I always get the crappy old Sprint boot-sound.
Anybody know how to fix that?

The file must be named PowerOn.ogg and placed in /system/media/audio/ui

Thank you!
