theme is perfect but any how how to make in this theme black status bar when i use apps ?? i dont like this green
nice theme.ty. tested clean 01 and found some bugs, but this clean2.0 is just fine. i will post if i find something that i think needs improvement
This theme (clean2) is very nice indeed, I have just a minor remarks.
1. Green notification bar looks just weird, transparent (or black) status (notif) bar would be much better.
2. Stock calendar app is not themed.
3. Sure, it is a matter of taste, but I dont like those icons (and yes, iconset can be changed, I know
4. As was already mentioned, status bar icons do not change. Then it would be even better.
Nice theme, only the status bar green colour is not much pretty (transparent would be better), and please theme the stock calendar.
Thank you but....why green colour? omg
Love it, thanks!

Look at my first post and download themes
If you want to change the status bar color (from the green color to black, for example), you have to do this:
1. download the theme to your PC and change the extension from .hwt to .zip
2. extract the file and find "com.android.systemui". This file is an archive and you can extract it (if you are using Ubuntu. Under Windows, probably you have to add the .zip extension (just rename the file as "com.android.systemui.zip" - without quotes). extract that file and you will find one folder called "res" and one file called theme.xml
3. Edit theme.xml with xml editor (notepad++ or gedit under Ubuntu)
4. find the "system_bar_background_opaque" line and change the ff value from ff2b9193 to ff000000 (it is a code for the black color, you can choose what color you like). save the file
5. make a .zip archive from the "res" folder and edited "theme.xml" called "com.android.systemui". Make sure, the file has not the .zip extension.
6. replace the original "com.android.systemui" with the new "com.android.systemui" in the directory created in step 2. I personally also edited description.xml and changed the name of the theme (to avoid the duplicity of the themes with the same name).
7. from all that files make a .zip archive (for example "P6_3.0.zip"). Finally, rename that file to P6_3.0.hwt (just rename the extension) and copy it to your phone in the HWThemes.
8. apply the theme.
This method has worked for me, now I have a black status bar.

... Just try it. And more than likely it won't matter if you use that theme and I make a flashable as the theme chooser takes image priority and if he has the gradient background in the theme it will be useless.

There should be a frameworks_res_background_holo_dark.png file inside the theme file. Replace it with a black png. This way you get to keep your existing theme while changing the background.
If it isn't there, you'll need to replace the file background_holo_dark.png inside your framework-res.apk file under the drawable folder

Glad it worked for you. I haven't written a guide, but its really not hard. I make them on my phone using root explorer. Extract the zip and have a look. You'll see that there is a folder for the apk(s) you want to theme without the .apk file extention. Subfolders inside that are structured exactly the same as inside the apk. Then you have the xml file that tells ZipThemer where to put what. Using the same format, create a line for each apk you're theming, followed by a line describing the path. Edit the author, theme name and description. Once you're done, zip the whole thing up & it's ready to go.

Nah, you have to edit it yourself. Go to my ghost thread and download the theme. Unzip it and study the file structure and xml structure in ghost.xml. Should give you a feel for it. Images will theme on any rom using this method, but you've got to be careful with adding xml files to the app folders. Some xml, especially layout stuff will break some roms. That's why I've only made ghost for stock roms.

Hello Everyone,
as the Title says. We like to mod the statusbar of our Gnex with an backround image.
I tried and searched long to find out how to and finally I found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1814441
and I can say this works, but you have to follow some steps of mine, so this really really works.
At first I will give credits to powerpoint45, he is the man, who has done all this getting to work. Please hit his thanks-button!!!!
Ok, now we start:
1. Step is, to download the files of powerpoint45 thread
2. Step is to follow his guide, but this is new: use the framework-res of your rom you like to use
So first install the framework-res.apk of your ROM and then install the SystemUI.apk of your ROM
When the SystemUI is successfully decompiled, there you can see a folder "SystemUI"
Go into this folder and then go into the res folder and then into the "drawable-xhdpi" folder
Here you will find a file called "status_bar_bg_tile", this file you can change out with a png you want, but the file must have the SAME name. The size of the png should be 720x30 (CREDITS HERE TO BANKS)
When you replaced this file with the one of your choice , you have to go to the folder /res/values
Here you pick out the drawable.xml
Open with notepad++
edit line 5 into this: @drawable/status_bar_bg_tile
Save the file
Now, make the way Powerpoint45 recompiles, but before you have to copy the META_INF and manifest.xml from the ORIGINAL SystemUI.apk into the decompiled SystemUI folder.
It is possible that you will not see an builded apk like the terminal says, so try this command:
java -jar apktool.jar b SystemUI
After that, there should be a new folder called "dist", here you will find the new SystemUI.apk
Install the new SystemUI the way you like. I use push via adb - then fix permissions (IMPORTANT)
Last Thanks to Powerpoint45 and Banks
I hope this helps you to customize your Gnex a little more!!!
If I missed something, correct me! This is my first little how to! AND SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!

Hello,
I used the search function, but did not find an answer for my question. I want to theme my statusbar. And want to change the image of the backround image. But in jellybean the png has another name than in earlier android versions.
So I want to know what is the name of the backround image and what is the correct size for the png I want to use.
I hope themers can help.

Image is called status_bar_bg_tile.png Found in SystemUI.apk res/drawable-xhdpi
Change it to w/e
Go into SystemUI.apk res/values/drawables.xml
Open it.
Change the line out that calls out the statusbar color with this
<drawable name="status_bar_background">@drawable/status_bar_bg_tile</drawable>
Save, Recompile,Flash, Profit, lol
Edit: I always made them 720x30 for the size

Yeah, you should be alright to resize the image. I don't think you can just make a zipthemer mod since the stock SystemUI calls out an image HEX color instead of an actual image. You would still have to decompile your SystemUI and make that XML edit. After you made that edit, you can rename the statusbar png to w/e you want and make the necessary changes to the XML to call out that image.
Example: <drawable name="status_bar_background">@drawable/whatever your image name is.png</drawable>
drawable.xml is not available in the rom I use. I found an status_bar_bg.xml, but I am not able to open it with notepad++. Decompiling only show *.smali so no xml files
I managed to change the image that I want but still black is shown in statusbar, so wich xml file to edit so that the image is shown?
I attached the sysui.apk The rom I use is jbsourcery2.1
Maybe someone could help better.
Watch out the status_bar_bg_tile.png it is now an image with size 720x30
You should be able to just put an image in the xhdpi folder called status_bar_background.png. I don't recall needing to change any XML to add an image

Right now I'm not using tablet mode or anything. I am using a galaxy nexus and when I make it transparent it will look as intended, but then when I open an app or menu and return to the home screen it stays black and the transparency isn't there anymore. Tried using custom images and also just tweaking the colors in the files but both have the same results. I'm stumped at this point.

You could always edit the battery icons yourself. Just paste the wanted battery icons into SystemUI.apk where the battery icons are supposed to be and push it into /system/app with the correct permissions and voila you're done.
Doing this quite often when there are themes I want to apply but they don't come in CWM flashable zip for the rom I'm using

Just copy the systemui API from your system/app folder to your sdcard and open it using 7zip or similar program on your PC. Locate the icon files within the app, most likely under res/drawable/hdpi or xhdpi and copy the icon you want straight into the apk and overwrite. No need to extract the apk. Note this only works when replacing images. If you want 1% battery, you'll have to edit some xmls as well (dunno which one though).
And just copy the apk back to where you found it and give it the correct permission (644) and reboot.

The .hwt is just a .zip renamed .. download a theme .hwt rename it in .zip and unzip it then modify what you want
On old version of Huawei HiSuite we can create theme but only compatible with Emui 1.6 today we don't have any software this functionality was deleted .
OK, but when I unzip the theme, I don't find the battery icon in the nav bar, which is the thing I want to modify. I want to change it to another one, how is that possible?

Can you tell exactly what have you done? Because the method described by macklon should work.
You have a .hwt file (for example theme.hwt). Then you change the name of that file from theme.hwt to theme.zip, unzip that file and edit what you want. After that, add all files and folders (just everything extracted from the original theme.zip) to a zip archive (for example theme1.zip. The structure inside theme1.zip should be the same as in theme.zip). Finally, rename theme1.zip to theme1.hwt and that's it.

Ok, I exported all relevant graphical content from EMUI. To extract this all files, you'll need to have 7zip. Files are in 3 .zip archieves because of restriction of xda uploads to 20MB.
