Can someone provide me with a flash able zip or something so the gradient throughout the system changes to solid black
I have tried the universal gradient fix the black version and it did not work
I'm running paranoid android 1.99
Please thanks in advance!
I have a free blue theme that does that. If it has theme chooser you could use that.

Paranoid darkness by nordpolcamper does that, but also changes the Nav bar buttons, which are a little too big for me, but Its definitely worth checking out.

Can you make a flashable zip out of it?
The thing is that I have the theme ICS fixer already installed
It changes all the old gingerbread pngs to other more ICS/jb like

... Just try it. And more than likely it won't matter if you use that theme and I make a flashable as the theme chooser takes image priority and if he has the gradient background in the theme it will be useless.

There should be a frameworks_res_background_holo_dark.png file inside the theme file. Replace it with a black png. This way you get to keep your existing theme while changing the background.
If it isn't there, you'll need to replace the file background_holo_dark.png inside your framework-res.apk file under the drawable folder

Is it possible to change it without a computer?
I just checked in the ics fixer theme & background_holo_dark.png is not present, so I could make a ZipThemer theme with just this black image if you like.

Glad it worked for you. I haven't written a guide, but its really not hard. I make them on my phone using root explorer. Extract the zip and have a look. You'll see that there is a folder for the apk(s) you want to theme without the .apk file extention. Subfolders inside that are structured exactly the same as inside the apk. Then you have the xml file that tells ZipThemer where to put what. Using the same format, create a line for each apk you're theming, followed by a line describing the path. Edit the author, theme name and description. Once you're done, zip the whole thing up & it's ready to go.

Nah, you have to edit it yourself. Go to my ghost thread and download the theme. Unzip it and study the file structure and xml structure in ghost.xml. Should give you a feel for it. Images will theme on any rom using this method, but you've got to be careful with adding xml files to the app folders. Some xml, especially layout stuff will break some roms. That's why I've only made ghost for stock roms.

i saw somewhere once on an Epic that the stock Samsung lock screen slider was a red circle and red arrow up with the lock in the middle. I can't seem to find the thread in order to do more research or get what i am looking for.
so does anyone know how i can get my slider icon to be red instead of the greyish black it is now?
Flash a theme, or if you only want the lockscreen then delete all the images except the lock.

Nope, that's where it is for moi. Weird. Try unzipping the whole folder then look on /sdcard/extracted/ and see if it shows up there.
If not maybe post your framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk here and i can take a look.
edit: Maybe mine's different since technically we don't have the stock TW Launcher. We have a slightly modified one on Bonsai.

Apk's are just archives. You can use your favorite archiving application to modify the APK ( i like WinRAR ). All I normally have to do is open the APK with WinRAR and take the modified PNG's (not .9.pngs - these have to be run through eclipse first) and drop em in to the folder you want. Boosh! Done.
I'm seeing the files right where we said they'd be. you still don't have 'em? /system/framework/framework-res.apk

Its in framework res.apk too look for status bar background. There are two one is a bigger png which is for when you pull it down and that's a dummy file because on the epic its inside twframework-res but the other is a small box and a .9.png so if you don't know how to edit them borrow one from a working theme.

Hey guys i dont no much about theming so i was wondering if someone can pull the blue outline from the honeycomb fusion theme. The one that pops up with every popup on the theme. thats all i need and want or if someone can point me in the rightt direction to get it myself. Thankyou.
The blue outline on popups is part of the images as a hole. Just look in the drawable-hdpi folder of both frameworks

You should only be copy and pasting these from the Honeycomb frameworks over to the framework your modding. Don't unzip (extract) anything, just OPEN the archive using either WinRAR or 7zip (I use 7zip personally) and just copy/paste.. Extracting and attempting to re zip the frameworks are going to cause trouble.
Ok thanx ill try that when i get ahold of my pc unless i can do it through the phone
I've done some zip work through the Epic using Root Explorer/Astro/ES File Explorer at different stages to get it all to work and its a pain in the butt. You would be much better off just using your PC, take you a whole 5 minutes to pull those pop up pngs mentioned by p3dr0maz and paste them into your framework and flash it/ADB push it.
I created a bulk zip file containing all the sets as seen on this page. atticus182 I imagine, is the guy who made them. I followed his automatic method.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15078-softkeys-softkey-collection-cdmaupdate-22-01/
I included the default softkeys ( gn_softkey_original-liquid.zip ) so you can fall back to it you need/want too. I flashed about half of these so I know they work.
Simple to install, just extract the one you want from the .rar file, copy it to your phone, boot into Recovery, install the zip you uploaded to your phone. Reboot your phone. No wipe or anything needed. You can then go into LiquidControl and change their colors.
Here is the .rar file.

Enjoy

IS THAT RELATED ?
You can start by just copying and extracting the framework-res.apk in the system/framework folder of any theme. I recommend using a stock deodexed theme template as this will give you a good foundation to build from. After you extract the framework-res.apk look in the res/drawable-mdpi folder. That is where most of the icons will be that are used for theming. You can pull any of the .png's and edit them this way. DO NOT mess with any of the icons labeled .9.png when editing the framework-res.apk this way (see info on .9's below). And don't (generally) don't change the size of the png's you edit.
When getting started the best way I found to figure out which images are used where was to flash the same theme as the one I am editing to my phone so I can look at the phone and try to figure out where the icon (image) is being used. If I still can't find it then I will take my best guess and color the image something bright like red or another color thats not used in the theme I'm making. Then I put the color edited icon in my theme and flash it (see below) then go through my phone and find whats red.
After you edit all the .png's you want and are ready to put your theme back together:
Open a copy of the original theme that you used as a base and open the system/framework/framework-res.apk in 7zip. DO NOT extract it. Just open it. Then go to res/drawable-mdpi (or whatever folder you edited the icons in) and place your edited icons back into this folder. After you finish, close 7zip, rename your new theme so you don't confuse it with the theme template you are using and flash away.
I'm not going to go into great detail about how to do the things below because I simply don't have the time. I have given you enough information that you should be able to google and look for guides on youtube that will get you through the process below.
When editing .9.png's (commonly refered to as .9's) you need to pick up some software. First you'll need to download and install the jdk and jre. Google them. They are on Java's web site. Once you get those installed you'll need to get apk tool or apk manager, I prefer apk tool myself, and decompile the framework-res.apk to be edited.
If you edit the .9's but stay away from that one pixel wide border you won't have to patch your .9's. This is what I do. When I open a .9 to edit the first thing I do is draw a selection box around the image making sure to stay clear of the one pixel wide border. This way all my changes stay inside the selection box. If you ever do decide you need to patch your .9's there is a program called draw9patch that will do this for you.
Happy Theming!!

That is already a flashable zip.. well partially.. all you have to do is Download ZipThemer and using ZipThemer make a flashable with the included Zip. If you've never made one before i have a tutorial in my Themes OP. Its linked in the Main Page at the bottom.
I'm trying to stay away from ZipThemer, and I'll explain why. It appears that when making a flashable zip in ZipThemer, it backs up EVERYTHING from your systemUI.apk, adds in the themed files, and zips it all up. I've run into an issue the past week with not being able to see the new battery circle mod included in the latest CM10 as well as not being able to customize the icons on my navbar. I found out that an old ZipThemer mod was to blame.
Basically, I don't want to create a new ZipThemer mod every time my rom has new features added. How can I make a flashable zip without ZipThemer?

Take the SystemUI.apk from your ROM.zip 7zip extract the file contents. In /res/drawable-xhdpi you will find the softkeys. Take the images from the Zip you have and paste them in the folder (they should already have the correct file names.) Then put the /res/drawable-xhdpi back into the archive of the original APK. Then put that apk in a flashable and flash away. You can just gut a Flashable zip *i have one in my MMS tutorial* .
Which is not as easy as a ZipThemer.. you'll also have to redo this entire process everytime you flash a new nightly.. you'll either get lost in a bootloop... the systemui will force close.. or you'll be absolutely fine.. but have an old SystemUI.

Same thing as ZipThemer... but does things differently. I would just make the zipthemer. And when you need to update all you have to do is update the zipthemer to flash it. Its a vrtheme and creates extra folders.
Alright, I'll do it in ZipThemer then. Anyway, can someone with good photo editing skills color ic_sysbar_back_ime and ic_sysbar_back_ime_land so they are the same ICS blue as the files in my first zip? I have attached the files.

I have a full set of ics blue nav buttons. I can make a ZipThemer for you if you like. The reason ZipThemer is the best way o go, is that it uses your exact SystemUI to make the package. No bootloops that way. Yes, you'll have to remake the update.zip every time you update your rom, but you use the same ZipThemer theme each time. And it seriously only takes about 3 minutes to do each time anyway, which is quicker than pulling your apk & swapping out images with 7zip. And you don't get the duplicate drawable folders like with vr-theme or universal flasher. I actually made a theme chooser for a customer last night with just ics blue navkeys & custom lockring. Strangest request I've ever had.

If you could upload an archive with the icons included, that would be great. You don't have to make the ZipThemer though.
Thanks.
