Can someone give me a vote? what is the best? Stock Rom with full deodex, lock bootloader and superuser Mod. or Custom rom, Like CM or any? i still dizzy. because if i use Custom rom sometime isn't stable anymore but if i use stock rom there is lock bootloader so i don't have any recovery. but the performance is better?

Hi guys,
I don't understand if the ROM KXP need a custom Kernel or if works also with the stock ICS Kernel, with bootloader locked...I'm referring to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859518
Anyone can help me about this? Thanks and sorry for my bad english
The ROM will not work with stock kernel. If you want to flash custom kernel you should unlock bootloader.

Hey ,
So I was thinking of flashing either Doomkernel or Lupus and I was wondering what are the advantages of flashing a custom rom other than ability to over and under clock ? Also is stock kernel more stable and should i stick to it or go for cutom kernel ? And which one of Lupus or Doomlernel you recommend and which one is better for battery ? Also Is custom kernel worth it If I am not going to over or under clock much ?
Also more importantly can I go back to stock kernel later if i want ?
Thanks
Use custom kernel and start overclocking. Thats all you need to know.

Yes u can go back to stock kernel by flashing stock.ftf file via flashtool there is a thread in general with all firmwares. Search for "xperia play firmwares". Also my kernel is based on DooMLoRDs but just updated/few more features. Personally I feel theres a difference. Try it out and see if u like it. If you dont just simply flash the STOCK ftf via flashtool and your back to the way it was.

can i install kernel over stock rom 4.4.2,i want to keep stock rom and install s2wake or tap2wake function,is that options are available in kernels for z1 compact like on other android devices?
As far as I know those features are not available on Z1C. You can install custom kernels for stock roms if you have an unlocked bootloader.

Hi there!!
I'm about to unlock my phone bootloader, and i wanna know some things about kernels:
Can i "downgrade" the kernel. For example from a KitKat kernel to Stock (Jelly Bean 4.1) Kernel?
Can i use a KitKat Kernel in a Jelly Bean Rom?
If Kernel have CWM recovery, it still working even if ROM stop working?
I know that in Linux you can update to the lastest kernel in same distro and don't matters, but Android is "special"...
Now i've CWM for locked bootloader and it is installed in ROM instead in Kernel, then if ROM is damaged CWM can stop working. I think if is included in Kernel then don't matters what happen in ROM, but I want to be sure.
Thanks!!
I'm not really sure about question 1 & 2.
Answer for question 3:
Yes, the recovery should work even the rom is messed up.
Thats when bootloop happen .

1- Each rom has a specific kernel so if you want to install a kitkat kernel you can't install a JB rom so if you want to downgrade you can only downgrade the version of the kernel !!!
2-As I mentioned above you can't
3-Yes because the kernel is not damaged in your case so CWM will be working with no issues !!!
Thanks!!!, for now i'm still using a JB kernel with JB Rom. Waiting for a full working port of xLoud

If You are going to unlock Your bootloader in future, do remember to backup Your TA partition.
Hi.
I'm looking for custom kernel for stock v.45 rom.
No,I don't want custom rom.I'm happy with stock v.45 rom,it works perfectly for me.I tried some custom roms and I dont like them.My phone is rooted,I have Philz Touch recovery.
I looked over custom kernels and they are all for custom roms as much as I can understand.Or am i wrong?
If I'm not wrong,I will appreciate very much if somebody makes custom kernel for stock v.45 Global rom.
Thank you in advance.
i agree. i also use stock rom but not there kernel for stock....only for cm or aosp :crying::crying::crying:
