Hey ,
So I was thinking of flashing either Doomkernel or Lupus and I was wondering what are the advantages of flashing a custom rom other than ability to over and under clock ? Also is stock kernel more stable and should i stick to it or go for cutom kernel ? And which one of Lupus or Doomlernel you recommend and which one is better for battery ? Also Is custom kernel worth it If I am not going to over or under clock much ?
Also more importantly can I go back to stock kernel later if i want ?
Thanks
Use custom kernel and start overclocking. Thats all you need to know.

Yes u can go back to stock kernel by flashing stock.ftf file via flashtool there is a thread in general with all firmwares. Search for "xperia play firmwares". Also my kernel is based on DooMLoRDs but just updated/few more features. Personally I feel theres a difference. Try it out and see if u like it. If you dont just simply flash the STOCK ftf via flashtool and your back to the way it was.

Hi all,
My phone is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, but I tried to install this rom today:
MooDeD ICS ROM v.4.0 / xUltimate v7.0 Engine [ROM]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717
But I forgot to flash the new boot.img (new kernel), wich I had to install using flashtool. Now I can't normally boot my Arc (I can understand why), but I also can't get into CWM recovery! So do I know have to flash the new kernel wich I had to do before.. or can I get Android 2.3.4 somehow back on my Arc? And if I flash the new kernel for ICS can I flash it back to the kernel for Gingerbread afterwarts? The new kernel is based on ICS beta btw.
I hope you can help me
Everything is working very well since I flashed the ICS kernel I am now running Mooded ICS rom v30.5 without any problems (few bugs in the rom, but overcomable)

I figured that flashing ICS kernel and install the rom again worked when I had flashed the kernel I could get back into recovery again Thanks for your reply
does the DoomLord Kernel work on a ICS rom? Or does it has to be the ICS kernell by DoomLord?! on other words on ICS Roms the kernel has also to be based on ICS?
That's correct as far as I know has to be ics

I don't recommend doomlord because it's a bit buggy, but there are plenty of usefull kernells. To make ICS work you will need ICS kernell

Hello,
I am using Faux Kernel with Stock Rom 4.3 right now and I want to try the Golden Kernel.. but I was wondering how I am gonna set all the settings? Is there an app to make use of all the features off the Kernel? I use Faux and they have their own Kernel App.. is there any app in general for all Kernels?
Also I wanted to install Miui oder XenonHD but it always get stuck on the loading screen... What did I wrong? Does it has to be STOCK ROM AND KERNEL?

Faux may work, but there most definitely are tons of different kernel apps out there. Trickster, SetCPU, or one of the many many others.

Did you follow the instructions for the MIUI install? Did you wipe? Did you install anything after you flashed the ROM? Kernel or gapps?
I want to ask :
1. Can I use a ICS/JB custom kernel in my Xperia Arc still at GB ?
2. If I flash a ICS/JB custom kernel to my Arc, then Can I use CWM to install a new ICS/JB rom?
Thank you so much.

1. GB use GB kernel, ICS use ICS kernel, JB use JB kernel. Don't mix up any of the kernels.
2. Yes, it's that simple.

Thanks for quick reply.
I want to confirm that I can:
1. flash a ICS/JB custom kernel to my Arc (still at GB, unlocked bootloader)
2. after flash kernel, use CWM to install a custom rom ICS or JB.
Still want to make sure this. Thanks.

Yes. CWM is already included within the custom kernel, so after you flash the kernel, enter the recovery immediately.
ICS/JB kernel will not boot into GB.

If you are on stock ROM, you can't install HELLBOY kernel. It is just for CM9, CM10, and 4.2.x. For Sense ROM, you can install Charm-KISS and Titanium-KISS.
Can someone give me a vote? what is the best? Stock Rom with full deodex, lock bootloader and superuser Mod. or Custom rom, Like CM or any? i still dizzy. because if i use Custom rom sometime isn't stable anymore but if i use stock rom there is lock bootloader so i don't have any recovery. but the performance is better?
