Hi ! I have a rooted LG G3 and I just got notifcation that I got a software update. What will happen if I update my software? Will it break my root?
It will. In my experience, I had to uninstall xposed framework first (within the app). Then it went smoothly throughout the update process. After the update, just need to root it again. Some app may not work well after this such as adfree. Then just need to run the app and redo the settings.

Hello.
I received my M8 yesterday
As soon as I opened it and Rooted it with toolkit 2.0.
I noticed that there is no calculator app on my M8, is it just me or its general?
Also I am coming from S3 with aosp rom and I noticed that I don't have android beam on M8, what can I do? I need it to transfer files between my 2 phones..
By the way, rooting disables ota updates??
Thanks in advance...

If you unlock you lose some apps in /data/preload - I never got why.
Rooting will modify the system partition so OTA will not work, you will need to revert to stock before updating.

In the worst-case scenario you have too root again. But you're phone won't crash :good:
I tried, but I couldn't do it because of Root... I received a message from the installer that was impossible to install the update, because my phone is rooted. I think you'll need to Unroot to install de update.
In that case you should download a KDZ.file of the update and flash it with flash tool 2014. It will factory reset and delete the root on you're phone. After the update you can root again.

Better yet use this method if you're not familiar with flashing KDZ. You can accept OTA updates without losing your data. Once done, you can root again with PurpleDrake/Stumproot.
Works very well thanks for the simple tutorial

My Verizon LG G3 is rooted and has unlocked bootloader without a custom rom and recently got a update for a camera button I belive. Can I stop this update? And if not will it break my root if I goes through and I can't stop it. I know that of it does there's a strong possibility that I won't be able to root anymore.

What I use on my vzw g3 is titanium backup, and froze the thing called "System updates 1_13_10_0". Best I can tell that completely stops getting any ota pushed to the phone.
Is it possible to downgrade my retail version note 4 back to kit kat without bricking it. I really want kingroot and some other apps that arent avaliable on lollipop. Plus lollipop drains my battery quicker.
I haven't tried this myself, but this thread has instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3097054
If done correctly you shouldn't have any problems. Did it last week.
Thanks i was able to downgrade but kingroot was temporary and i couldnt really do anything with it so i upgraded again.

Hi, wanted to know if it possible to root a T700 (running lollipop) without a PC?
I need just root and don't care about Knox.
The tablet is in another home (another city) and I can connect to it with team viewer remote control as I do every time I need to configure something on it.
The person that using it, doesn't understand anything in rooting and doesn't have a PC but need root for some apps.
So, any advice how to do it remotely ?

Nope, not going to happen. You need a PC with Odin.
Are you sure?
What about Kingroot?

I used kingroot apk on my stock T800 on kitkat and lollipop and it rooted without any problems, just leave wifi enabled while it`s running.
John.
Thanks for the answer. After digging, I understand that only Kingroot can do what I want.
