Placing finger on the heart rate monitor doesn't take selfies on phone. I haven't found any posts on this issue on the net. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Other things on the phone work fine so I would hate to return the device just for one issue and hate even more to reconfigure my new phone if I end up exchanging it.

So in my experience placing your finger on the heart rate monitor doesn't take the picture. After your finger sits for a second, the picture is taken when you remove your finger from the heart rate monitor. Took me a little bit to figure out. Hope this helps!
I find it easier to just swipe across it. Works perfect for me every time.

I restarted my phone a few times and that fixed the issue. I didn't have to reset my phone.
Mods please close this thread. Thanks.

Hi guys,
I've had my G-Nex for a few days, and mostly love it - but on two occasions now, the touchscreen has acted up. I'd put the phone down, and for a few minutes, it'd randomly select things on the screen with me nowhere near ( the other day it kept opening the People app). But a minute later, it'll be fine. Touch inputs are flawless when I'm actually using the phone. It's totally random.
Anyone else with such an issue?

I never had any problem like that. It's just a thought but do you put your phone where there might be magnetic interference nearby, like another electronic device? I'm not sure if this can happen with phones but some types of touch input can go crazy because of that.

If you are telling me next that it only happens while 2G is being used..
I had the same thought, but both times the phone was on WiFi, in my house. I've not once had the volume problem, and am also on Orange (1800mhz)...which, so far, seems unaffected by the volume ghost.

I don't want people to think that i am a general moaner, but it did happen to me the first day i got it whilst i was viewing cached apps is the settings menu. Its like your finger is still on the screen. I haven't experienced it since though.
Something like this happened to me with the Nook Color. As far as I know, it's not a known issue for that device so I'm guessing there was some interference I was not aware of. UFO's maybe.
My Palm Pre+ is doing this constantly. I will be pretty upset if I get the Galaxy Nexus and it does the same.
This app is MY FAVORITE ANDROID APP EVER.
- Virtually zero battery drain
- I never ever EVER have to touch on/off button now
- Tons of customization settings
- FREE FREE FREE
- Works awesome whether i'm using my poetic cover, just putting the phone loose in my pocket..or even if its just sitting out on the desk and goes to sleep (just put your finger over the sensor briefly to 'wake' it)
- You can turn off the 'auto on/off' when in landscape mode which is great..i never accidently put the phone to sleep while showing someone a video
- Set it to work automatically after rebooting phone
- Set it to automatically release the lockscreen (if you dont have a passcode)
in short..this simple app has quickly surpassed everything else i installed because it so simple and elegant!
2 thumbs up! i'm planning to buy this guy a beer or whatever his little thing says.
Interesting idea for an app, but not for me. I like to keep my phone out on my desk during most of the day and I'm not a fan of having it face down especially since I don't use a case/bumper/screen protector.
you dont need to.
it will go to sleep like it normally does. it would only turn on if you put your finger over the sensor for a second.
give it a try..you'll fall in love w/ this app!
Yes!!
I just replaced the LG bumper case with a Nillkin flip cover last night and immediately started to hate having to press the power button to unlock it. Now I just have to open the flip cover for the screen to turn on. I've only been testing it for a few minutes but so far it's been perfect.
garenzy - I leave my phone on my desk with the flip cover open as well. As nyvram1 mentioned, you just need to wave your hand over the proximity sensor and the screen turns on. It's been flawless for me so far.
Loving this app! The verdict is still out on the battery drain but I'd be willing to take a small hit on that for this new feature.

i've had this installed for over a week and haven't noticed any additional battery drain.
read the developer's notes. he explains why the battery draw from using this is negligible at best.
i LOVE this app! seriously, after using my phone for a month without it, then installing it a week ago its like i have a new phone!
I dig it, I have my bumper so putting it face down at my desk isn't an issue and it's nice not having to feel for the power button.
doesnt matter if you put it face down or face up on the desk. it will obey the normal timeout sleep if face up and you just move your finger over the sensor to 'wake it' if you need to use it.
no downsides to this app yet.

Thanks man! I have the bumper and a leather magnetic clip for when I'm working. I thought the magnet would turn it off but it was poorly worded and the magnet clip was just too keep the clasp on.
So THIS is perfect thanks man!

I haven`t installed it yet but how does this affect the lock/unlocking of screen when you put it in pockets or put it in your bag?
Installed, can't decide if I actually like it or not. Seems to flick on and off all the time despite messing with the settings. Works well when I put it in my pocket.

The lock screen always comes on after wake up. However this can be disabled in the app.

I was using smart screen on pro for the same. It used to work fine. Now installed this. In initial testing, it is working fine. Let's see how it fares. Thanks for the tip.

Guys a bit excited about an app he really likes. I love it because I have a leather case that opens like a book so this is pretty awesome.
Maybe I developed the app too

Tried it, it killed about 14% battery overnight while I slept :/ not good so uninstalled.
Fun gimmick app, I can see the usefullness when you're using a flip cover, however I don't so it's just a cool gimmick till sleep2wake becomes available for other kernels. That how i want to turn on my device

So 24hrs later it's getting uninstalled, everything seemed to be working fine but on calls/alarms/etc. it doesn't show the appropriate screen it instead shows the home screen (I did set it to go to the home screen but that was so it didn't stay stuck on the intellicover screen) so for now I'll just go back to tapping the power button
I'm not sure if it's my phone or if it just doesn't work well but having loads of issues with it. Sometimes it works repeatedly other times it just won't recognize my finger. Not sure what to do about it

the fingerprint scanner works but its not consistent. I was able to get it to work better by scanning the same finger using different angles (i.e. side of the finger, then scan the tip, then scan the other side...) but it still doesnt always work the first or second attempt.
it actually ended up being more of a hassle to use, so I switched back to the standard swipe screen.
Yeah I'm thinking about giving up on it as well. I like using it for lastpass but not sure if it's enough to deal with the inconsitency. I'll try registering another finger print as you mentioned

Yes working great for me.

I use an app called "wear unlock" and linked it to my moto 360, if the phone leaves the range of my watch it automatically locks with a hard password.
But it means in normal use I just swipe to unlock which is awesome!
Yea works great for me as well. When registering swipe vertically for the first 5 and then horizontally for the last five. And try to swipe at different angles. If u really want to be accurate u can scan the same finger twice, but I honestly haven't had to do this. Also sometimes when swiping, push the button when coming down seems to work alot more that way

It takes a fair amount of time to get used to. I'm at 2 weeks now on mine, and I can usually hit it first or second time now. I find it quite handy, but now that winter is coming, I'm wondering how well it will work with cold chapped fingers. Cases also interfere with swiping.
I wish you could specify a PIN with a fingerprint instead of a 6 character password.

The same here. It did take a bit to get used to, but it recognizes my fingerprint swipe everytime.

I already notice a difference after a long hot shower - I would imagine no different being out in the cold as well. I will put it to the test as soon as I go on my first snowboarding trip of the season
I've found it to be pretty useless unfortunately, Apple definitely did a better job in that department, albeit at the cost of some extra real estate.
It works well if you scan different angles on your finger.
Personally haven't had a chance to try the Apple version but as for our phones it is quite big so I would recommend at least have some side swipe scans in there so you can scan with one hand.
Never accurate for me. Can never get it to recognize the first time. Had to stop using it out of frustration.

Weird I use it 30+ times a day, and it gets mine 1st try about 95% of the time. 2nd try almost every other time.

That ends up taking longer to unlock the phone. I know it's more secure but swiping twice or someone three times is frustrating.

Yes, it takes longer. I'm Ok with that though for a little bit of security. Is just as fast as the numeric pin I used to type in...

Hi! A question about the heart rate monitor. Its little red light seems to be always on if covered by something else, even if the phone screen is off and the S Health app is not open? That is, the light is on if the phone is sitting on a table, or in my pocket, or covered by my hand, etc. I'm concerned that this would negatively impact battery or somehow wake the phone up, but can find no settings related to the heart rate monitor. Is this how it should be?
My Note 4 is running Lollipop, and was factory reset after the update just two days ago. I don't recall how it was before, though, as I only just noticed.

If you don't have Google Fit, it's a known bug according to sprint, they say they are sending a bug fix soon, but I don't see it happening for a few more weeks. In the meantime, I used my otterbox holster to stop the red light from continuously going on and off. If you have Google Fit, uninstall it until they come up with a bug fix.
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Premium HD app
Was just about to ask this. Google fit is causing it? How interesting, are they going to support the heart rate monitor soon?
If you disable the activity tracking on Google Fit, then the problem will go away. It's a temporary solution for now. Or, you can uninstall Fit and restart your phone.
Fit is back on the play store for note 4 running lollipop. No more heart rate turning on by itself

yop,
does anyone have same problem like me?
My nexus when in trousers oftenly reads my pocked/leg and when i take it out of pocked i can't unlock phone via fingerprint because "too many times, try again later"
Any possibility to decrease sensitivy?
I don't say, it's seriously annoying

I always do it that way cause it more natural for me to unlock while taking it out of my pocket. Also more natural to put it in as well. Less maneuvering of the phone.
