Is anyone else having issues syncing S Notes? I have a Note 10.1 2014 that I have been using for the past year and am coming from a Note 2. When I try to sync my S Notes, I get a sync error.
I actually tried to sync today and lost all the S Notes I had created over the past year from my Note 10.1 (about 80 notes), except for only 1 or 2 random notes that for some reason stayed. I called Samsung and was told I was basically SOL since the notes weren't backed up (other than to my Samsung account, I thought).
After factory reset of my Note 10.1 and 24 hours of letting my Note 4 sync, it seems everything is working.

Hi
I was running the changed (No security setting enforcement) email/exchange apps on my Galaxy S2 connecting to a Lotus Notes Traveler without any problems.
After upgrading to the Note 2, I dicovered, that I cannot setup my traveler account anymore. Neither with the stock email app, not with the changed one from the S3 rom.
It says, that either my server details are wrong or the protocol version is not supported. I am thinking of protocol version, since when I change my password, it says password is wrong.
I tried copying the old Email.apk and Exchange.apk from the S2 without success. It wont even start on the Note2.
Two questions pop into my mind:
1. I saw in the forum, that HTC Sence users can enable debugging for the email app. Can we also do that?
2. Any chance, someone has a working Email.apk and Exchange.apk from another rom without security restrictions?
Thanks in advance
You could get "Enhanced Email" from the play store and try that, I used it for a while until a problem I was having got resolved when I changed email hosts. It's pretty much a stock email client, with benefits.

I used this to patch the APKs on the Note 2, working fine for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452

thanks for the replies. enhanced mail doesnt work. it wouldnt let me enter an url like this: serverdns/servlet/traveler
the patch did work, but i get the same message as with the S3 email.apk
the protocol version is not supported.
with the S2 email.apk it worked. any possibility to get a detailed log from the app trying to connect?
Hi.
Did you manage to resolve this? I ask because I also need to connect to a Lotus Traveler server (Version: 8.5.3.3 Build 201209151353) via Exchange on my Galaxy Note 2 4G. I can do it fine on my Nexus 7 with no issues, but get the same error as you on the Note2.
Any solutions to post?
nope. unfortunately not.
i am getting a galaxy note 10 these days. lets see what the exchage app says there
Does anyone know ...
Does anyone know what causes these ActiveSync issues between the Android mobile device and the Traveler servers? Is it a Traveler server issue, Android OS issue, or an Android email app issue?
I am able to access my Lotus Notes corporate mail using an Exchange ActiveSync account on my iPad configured to point to a Traveler server. I haven't had any problems in 2 years of running this on my iPad. But, the Android experience has been unreliable at best including ghost syncs, lost mail that takes time to re-sync, battery drain while it spins. On my Galaxy Note 2, it seems to be an Android issue since I have no trouble on iOS, but, I'm not certain.
If anyone far smarter than me would mind explaining whats and whys, that would be appreciated.
Totally baffled by what my phone is doing to me.
The dates shown are completely different. There is a 1 day discrepancy. It also happens in my SPlanner where Facebook synced birthdays show up one day earlier even though my clock settings are all fine.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks
Beamed from Jupiter on my Galaxy Note II
I've noticed this with some of my dates on my Epic, but never could figure it out. After flashing a different Rom, I haven't noticed the issue repeating itself.
Epic4GT with different ROMs every few days. Thanks Devs!
It happened on ARHD and stock for me.
Leads me to believe it's not the ROM's fault.
Any other ideas?

sometimes it happens with with "network set automatic time" sync..try disabling it in the date and time settings..
I always put my upcoming court dates (I'm a PO) in my phone because I'm confident that my totally stock note 2 will send that info to my Motorola Xoom as it has in the past...lately, I have noticed that this no longer happens??? I have not messed with any settings and am getting frustrated as Ineed this info on BOTH devices! Any ssuggestions???
anyone else have a refresh issue with the Snote app on the note 8?
i have recently bought the note 8 to add to my note 2 and 10 (yes i think it is ridiculous that i have the 3)
all my devices have the notes synced but only the note 8 refreshes for about a minute each time i open the snote app
i haven't had an issue like that with my 2 and 10 and i must say it is getting on my nerve specially that i''m use to quick note accessing for work and drawing
please share with us your feedback on this issue and will keep you posted if i get it solved.
Issue update
it stopped the refresh lag on it's own
don't know how, but all systems go and enjoying the experience so far.
i did receive an email from Samsung support telling me that they didn't notice any similar issues with any of the other devices.
they also suggest to force stop the program and clear cash (but do make sure u have a backup or all ur notes are synced on the cloud)
I do have a considerable number of notes synced on note 2 and note 10 so maybe note 8 was just getting use to having a lot of your notes being synced over multiple devices
if you noticed the same issue, please share and keep us all posted
the issue is back

it was solved for a bit over 2 months maybe after i went to google drive and unautharized the s note app from the list of options.
now it's back and driving me crazy...
are you still facing the same?
i think it might be related to the samsung account s note sync only for the note 8 as my other device is ok
i've noticed that the s note app on the 8 has different Sync options in the menu list
I have a same issue, very annoying...
Every time i reopen s note, or return from editing mode,
it refreshes for about 10 seconds.
I removed Samsung account, and disabled s note app in Google drive,
but nothing seems to be helping.
Please update if a solution found..
my solution
ok, maybe this will help someone:
what i did was
1. clearing cash of 2 s note apps in app manager
2. uninstall google drive app
3. copy all files from s note folder in file manager to some other folder (backup)
4. delete all files from s note folder
5. run s note app, and import backed up files
6. install google drive app back
s note opens very fast,
no refreshing anymore.

Hey there...
It is the same solution i have although i didn't have to make a copy or delete the google drive folder. you can depend on your samsung account backup for that
i'll write this for others visiting here with the same issue
clearing both S note apps of cache from the app manager is a must after disabling the google drive snote app (on google drive) as mentioned on previous posts in this thread
once you do this the Snote folder will be empty, so by restarting the device it gets your files back from the Samsung sync
the image icon on each note will appear in good time so don't worry it's not lost
you should avoid going to Snote settings and choosing to sync with google...your samsung sync is enough
This issue might happen again after a while (it reoccured with me after more than 2 months and drove me crazy) so you will have to go through the same steps again
other samsung note models (note 2 and 10) have different sync options than the 8 where u have the option to sync with google based on your demand rather than automatic...and if automatic it happens passively in the background when ur not accessing ur Snote...problem with the 8 is that this doesn't happen in the background so it checks ur google folders every time you access Snote
my guess is that the lag happens when the snote app requests from the google server an update on the spot (samsung app talking to google app only when you open the snote rather than before or after you are done)
I hope they address this issue in their next software updates.
So long story short, My old Verizon Note 4 SM-N910VKZE owned since 1/1/15 was freezing so I thought buying a NEW Note 4 on 2/26/16 would be my solution.
I left the old Note 4 as-is other than pulling the SD card and I thought the text messages were all still intact after I did that.
All of a sudden they are ALL gone... Every one of them
What do I need to do to get them back?
From what I read, rooting is the only possible way to get them back BUT rooting a Verizon Note 4 running 5.1.1 seems to be a major dilemma??
Can someone please help direct me as to how I can get these texts back?
Text messages are not stored on the SD card. They're stored directly on the phone itself.
If you still have the old Note 4 (and have not erased the messages or done a factory reset), then you can transfer them to the new Note 4 using Samsung's Smart Switch app.
If you do not have the old Note 4 (or if the messages have been erased), your only real hope is that you were using Verizon Cloud to back them up.
I do not know of any apps that can recover deleted messages (and that actually work). Maybe someone else has advice concerning that.
Try to use Message + of the verizon you can restore your text from there.
