Ofiicial HTC Translucent Hard Shell Case - One (M7) Accessories

http://www.htc.com/us/go/buy-translucent-hard-shell-case/
Does anyone have this?
Thinking about getting one for my M8, and if I like it enough my M7 as well.
$15, about the same as my case-mate barely there case which is very nice, but I am hoping this one is even slimmer.
from what I see it even has little cut out for the htc logo buttons things on the back of the device. pretty neat.

I've got one on my M7, I like it, not as good protection as a heavier case obviously, no lip to protect a face down fall, but I have a gorilla grass screen protector on for that. The HTC logo on the back is a nice touch, it adds next to nothing to the dimensions on the phone as is pretty durable. Have dropped it a few times and no marks on the case.

for my m8 I want it mainly because it's so slippery will this case help grip?

sorry, been away a while, if you're still cuirous.
1. Barely even realise its there
2. Nope
3. Nope
4. Adds a 1mm to the phone

I have had an equivalent case for my HTC One X+, and I was very pleased with it. So when I got the HTC One, I bought this case as well, but I was very surprised. And not in a good way.
Good things first: the case is really nice, high quality material, it looks amazing on the phone, it's like not having a case on, because it's thin. It has cutouts for volume buttons, charging port, audio and power button + microphones. It protects the camera very well. You also get a screen protector in the package. Not the greatest one, but still.
Unfortunately it does NOT stay on the phone properly. Because the case does not extend towards the front edges of the phone, it has nothing to get a grip on. So, it cracks. And if the SIM port is 0.1mm out, it cracks even more (it took me a couple of days to realise this).
The one for the One X+/X was better because it did extend towards the edges.
If the case had some sort of rubbery material on the edges it would have been great. I'm thinking of adding some silicone or something, to make it get a better grip on the phone.

This case has been out of stock for the M8 but not M7 for a while now, and recently back in stock, perhaps they fixed this. My main want for a case on the M8 is one for grip. I don't need it for protection (knock on wood) as I take really good care of my devices. But the M8, for me isn't usable without a case, simply too slippery. If this case provides grip as stated above I think I am going to order it and hope that they fixed the problems you've described. (a good alternative is the case-mate barely there). I have it in black and it's very nice but the matte is rubbing off in corners and is a slippery plastic under, and when I tried getting it replaced Case-Mate said they only had it in white (which is just too ugly). This was a few months ago, I may try and get it replaced now, I'd assume they have stock by now.
But I am hoping this case is a bit slimmer and it will show the M8's beauty much better. and I really like the htc cut out on the back of the case, nice touch.

I hope they fixed what I mentioned above, at lease for the M8. But for the M7, the problems described above still occur.
Better yet, I can also add that dust can and will appear between the case and the phone, and it seems the phone now has a few "scratches". And I've never used the phone without a case, so...

Sorry I was thinking I was in the M8 thread.
It's too bad that this case has caused problems for you. I just ordered mine, and I will have this one to compare against my Barely-There Case-Mate Case which I like, but when I saw this I just had to have it. I also get dust in between the case and the phone, not sure much can be done for that, but the scratches really concern me, especially since I have the gunmetal gray for the M8 and I plan on selling it Mint condition for the M9 as I have used the M8 about a total of 1 maybe 2 months since I bought it on release day. I have been using my M7 but recently decided to go with the M8 because after buying the M7 also on it's release day I never had the purple camera issue but now I do, and HTC said they will charge me $200 not because I S-OFFed the phone but because I set it to Super-CID at one point (which I never told them, they just knew..) but being an HTC Elevate member they said they'd do it for half off. I can't justify paying any money for something that S-OFF nor Super-CID did. This is a known issue with the device, but sorry for the rant. I did order the case for the M8 - I will post my results when it finally comes. I imagine it will take awhile since I chose the free shipping...

returning the case.
too slippery.
the fit was perfect though.

If you say the fit was perfect, it means they fixed it for the M8. Because for the M7, as I said before, it is not at all pleasant.
Sorry to hear it was too slippery.
In the mean time I got the Double Dip cases for the M7 and they are a perfect fit, but of course, they scratched the phone pretty badly.

I have used it for some months and I was quite happy with it because I wanted a case that didn't hide the design of my M7 and didn't make it too bulky.
Unfortunately, I had to stop using it after I noticed a few marks on the upper left corner on the back of my phone, probably caused by some kind of hard dust that can easily enter through the gap between the case and the phone itself, especially at the corners.

Galaxy S3 Dust Problem?

Hey Guys and Girls,
I just got my Galaxy S III a month ago and I am developing a problem I can't seem to figure out. On the edges of the phone, where the glass meets the blue plastic I am getting a build up of dirt. I keep my hands very clean as I am super OCD about my devices. With that being said, I am getting dirt and "grime" build up in the sides. Sometimes it's hard to notice but it becomes clearer as more days go on. I have contacted Samsung and they were unwilling to decide what it was without seeing it. I contacted my carrier who sent me a replacement after ten or more calls. The new device seems to suffer the same fate. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem or knows how to get rid of it. I tried to clean it with an air canister with no luck and plenty of sharp objects. None which would do a great job, the only thing that came close was a toothbrush and that was difficult to say the least. Is this a known problem or am I getting more defective devices. Thanks for your input.
P.S- I know the photo isn't great and I will take more to show the effects. It is most noticeable in the corners, the sides, and around the speaker and home button.
Appreciate the help!
I don't have any issues and I have the white one, so it should be more obvious.

I had some lint build up in mine before I got a case (free zoogue deal) that covers the gap. I just used the corner of a folded piece of paper to clean it out a few times. Personally, I consider that gap to be a design flaw, particularly considering that the gap is not uniform on all sides...

I will try the paper trick, pretty much the only thing I didn't use. I find the gap to be a flaw as well considering that over time it is only bound to get worse. I have found that some spots are wider than others. Not sure why they would create a design like this but glad to see I am not the only one. I thought I was being OCD for awhile.

The gap isn't a design flaw: it's actually the seam between the front and back of the phone, and it's where you slip a spudger (flat plastic knife) in order to pry it apart (after rear screws are removed) for repair.
Just put a case on it -- any case will do -- and then it's virtually a non-issue. If you don't want to use case then just live with having to clean out the gunk build-up every couple months.
(And, frankly, it's kinda lame that you *****ed about this "problem" over 10 phonecalls and then they finally gave you a replacement phone to make you go away and stop costing them money)
Before I had a case I didn't have this issue. The gap isn't very noticeable. I have a Diztronic TPU case now ($10 Amazon) and it has a small lip which covers that gap. Maybe you have dirty pockets or a batch of phones that just had a slightly larger gap.

You are entitled to your opinion about how lame or not lame it was for me to call, but the truth of the matter is I have owned a multitude of phones in my lifetime, none which had a problem like this at all. I am not sure if you are in Canada, but a three year term for a phone that constantly needs maintenance for removing dust does not seem like a premium device in my book. Not to mention the fact that if it finds it's way under the screen as you suggest, then it would only cause future problems, outside of the one year warranty, rendering me with an inoperable phone. So I can't say I agree with your analysis of my calls. Not to mention it costs them a negligible amount to speak with me on the phone.
Most of the cases I have found only cover the rear of the device and do not cover the lip. I would hate to cover up my super phone in a five dollar POS case just for the sake of keeping dust out of a device that should have been designed to not have that happen to begin with.

It can't get behind the screen because it's one piece, so don't worry about that.

Yeah, many of the hard polycarb cases -- like Samsung's mesh case, or the popular Rock Quicksand -- that offer little edge protection don't cover the the entire lip because they can't. All TPU and hybrid cases do, though.

Most TPU cases have a lip which wraps around the front. It's not a hard plastic case that tries to snap into place. I have the Diztronic case and the lip is definitely there and it definitely covers the gap you're referring to. I had a TPU case for my GSII and it's the same basic design. If you don't want a case then you'll have to put up with the dirt in the crevices or get a different phone.

Np. I use this case. http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Fle...54&sr=8-7&keywords=diztronic+galaxy+s+III+tpu The matte feel is nice and it comes with a screen protector which I applied and it's good quality as well. It doesn't attract as much finger prints as other screen protectors I've used and it's very clear.
Off Topic:
But... even with a TPU case you'll have to be careful of drops. Gorilla Glass isn't as strong as it's touted to be against sudden impacts (watch iPhone5 vs Samsung Galaxy S III drop test). My GSII got a small scratch prior to applying a protector and just today a coworker dropped her GSII on concrete and the TPU case didn't stop the screen from severely cracking. It will protect from a lot of surface scratches though. My mom just got her first smart phone (a Pantech) and dropped it and it slid across the floor. I hadn't gotten her screen protector yet and her screen has some small scratches and nicks.
I guess my point is even if it reduces the aesthetics get a case, a screen protector, and be careful still.
I ordered that case like you suggested but it has yet to arrive. The replacement phone I got from my carrier is having even worse problems than my first one. I was even more careful with this than the others. Not really sure what to do. I am intrigued by the fact that I see nobody who has a white GS3 post problems about it. I wonder if the blue is the only one with these kind of issues.
I've got a blue one and don't have that problem

I had a blue one and had the same problem. The dust was noticeable around the edge and around the speaker. I ended up exchanging it because the home button died. All they had in stock was white so I took it. I have to say, the white one has much less of a seam and there is no noticeable dust build up!

Going to see if I can get a white. I prefer blue but I hate this problem.
Mine collects dust too and I use a Rock case. I'd clean it if I could, but I can't seem to fit paper or anything in to push it out either. It's hardly visible, not putting too much thought in to it.

[REVIEW] Incipio Feather for HTC One

I had this case on the HTC 8X in grey and it was easily one of the best cases I've ever had on any phone. The thinness, feel and texture was great.
As a first case for the HTC One I decided to buy this one but in black instead of grey to match with the light aluminum. It's a great case, it feels great, adds grip and the matte color is awesome. The grip and feeling on the back is superb. However, for that matte look, the black case texture/material is a little different than the one I had on the grey for the 8X.
It attracts finger prints and sweat or grease of your fingers. If it wasn't for this, this case would be perfect, at least for me.
If you don't live on a humid place or don't have have problems with finger prints, get this case by all means. Where I live it's almost 80%-95% humid all year so even if I don't have sweaty hands, it's inevitable that they get moist.
To sum up, it's a wonderful case, despite the problem with the smudges on the back. For that detail alone, it won't be for anyone as it would need to be cleaned two or three times a day to avoid the greasy/moist look on the back.
I do plan to get one in grey as the one I had on the 8X had an even better texture and feel and it didn't attract stains or finger prints at all. AT ALL. It was also a much of a darker grey that it showed on the pictures and I liked it even more when I got it.
For scratch protection, minimum bulk and great look and feel, this is a very good case.

I like the open top and bottom because it adds to the lightweight of the case and allows the natural aluminum color to be displayed prominently. The accessibility of the USB port and the power button is great because there is nothing around them.
This kind of case is only for scratch protection but that's the kind I'm always looking for.
I've also recently purchased this case in black. I LOVE the look of this case and one of the main features I like is that it still manages to maintain the ultra slim look and feel of the HTC One. This case really does fit well and doesn't detract from the stellar good looks of the phone.
One thing I do look for in these slim cases is that if the top edge of the case is slightly raised above the glass. That's a positive for me as I do not use screen protectors. With the top edge of the case raised just a hair it makes it easier to put my phone face down without worrying about scratching the glass. The Incipio Feather does have this very slight edge thankfully.
The only downside so far is that I've had to return my first case due to cracks. The two top corners of the case started to show stress cracks for some reason. In fairness they could have already been there as the first case I bought was already opened at the store and could have been a previous return. I didn't really check it that closely. It could have also been from me being a little aggressive taking the phone out of the case once to show somebody how slim it was. It fits really well so I may have forced it a little too hard.
The store did replace the case as it was previously opened and I checked the new one pretty carefully so no issues so far with the replacement. I'll post back here if any cracks appear again. Just in case you get one, be careful removing or installing the case and you should be fine. If you want the ultimate in good looks, decent grip and scratch protection then you won't go far wrong with this one. If you're one of those folks that likes the big armoured cases then this one isn't for you and nothing to see here.
This case will give you some basic protection while still maintaining the look and feel of the phone. And admit it, the look and feel of the HTC One is at least half or more of the reason you bought this awesome phone in the first place! Cheers!

You can contact Incipio about this. The case comes with a one year warranty and I'm sure they'd be willing to cover that and replace it.:good:
I've bought a few cases for the One and this is definitely my favorite, all the rest I enjoyed but missed the slim line feel. The incipio is the best of both worlds.

Just ordered one of these.
I'm seeing a lot of reviews on Amazon with the lighter colored ones hazing up flash pictures. Seems to be a common thing with close cutouts for the LED. Black cases are going to be the best to avoid flash interference.
Got mine and yes it's definitely one of the most minmalist cases I've ever used. Be careful with this one as it doesn't afford much in the way of drop protection but you already knew that...
The lip over the screen is a bit shorter than I'd like, still need to be wary of setting it down screen down just in case.
However for those that prefer the naked feel but don't want to be paranoid of scratching the back when sitting on a table, you will like this!
Be wary the plastic cutout piece along the top where the volume rockers and usb charging port are quite thin and can break if stressed too hard when putting the case on and especially taking it off, just take you time and be gentle.
The black finish does show finger grease but is easily cleaned. The incipio dual is the same way. At least it doesn't scratch super easy like some of the smooth and glossy backs.
No case is perfect, that's why I have a drawer full of different cases!
I like the minimalist look, but does anyone know of any similar type 'snap on' cases that has a bigger lip over the corners/edges so that the screen is more protected?
My friend has this case in grey, and hers started peeling/chipping on the back after a few months of use. She contacted Incipio and they'll be sending her a new case which is good...
I picked up a case for my HTC One at best buy. It looks 100% identical except for the logo on the back of the case. Very nice case.

There is the Poetic Palette and Nillkin Hard Case/Shell. I can't say about the front lip for the screen as I don't own them but you can search for pictures and see if it is more prominent than the lip on the feather.

It depends on how careful you are with your phone, but I would definitely recommend a case and screen protector to avoid getting scratches, if nothing else.

That depends on how much protection you want and if you mind covering up the back of the phone (it's nicer than most phones so some people rather not).

That's the one I have, and I like it a lot. Protects the sides and the back, without covering the aluminum body.

That's the one I have, and I like it a lot. Protects the sides and the back, without covering the aluminum body.

I never have much issue with screen scratches (usually) but I'd still err on the side of caution and do at the very least a screen protector. I'm going to replace my ZAGG (which I'm hoping is just scratched and not a crack on the screen ) with one of those fancy shmancy glass screen protectors with the rounded edges.

Ha ha, I have one of those fancy shmancy glass screen protectors. It feels nice and looks nice, but there are bubbles in the corners
TPU skin is good enough if you have good reflexes.
While it is falling, you'll probably break its fall by hitting it up. Plus you can find absolutely clear TPU skins.
A case is a must, screen protector is not.
What I do is whenever I get a brand new phone, I always start with a good protective case and a screen protector. After a few months, I gradually get thinner cases and usually end up with those 0.3-0.5mm thin cases that makes the phone feel nice and less bulky. If you plan to rock the phone naked, I'd recommend a phone pouch.

Thank you very much for the quick response I'm still searching for a good frame or case, is it true that the origin HTC bi color case leaves scratches on the phone I won't believe it .....?! I also hope that the black version is scratch resistant some people said not......I just talked with a Vodafone assistant to change the black against the silver but he said to me that himself have the black one and I looks quite better and after two month usage without any case he have no scratches. I'll take the black one, it comes next week and I will give you a first impression.

Its not REALLY a must IMO. The phone actually holds up very well. Yesterday i purposefully put the phone in the same pocket with a bunch of coins and it scratched the aluminum but the scratches wiped right off. If you drop things than that would be a different story at aluminum can easily dent :good:
That was my point also ... it looks a little exaggerated to say that a case is a must.
I intend to use the phone "naked" indoors. Any case will practically ruin the nice feeling of the phone itself. Of course, if you drop it then there are chances to ruin the nice finish.
I'm also using the phone outdoors, fr sports. For that purpose I ordered a trident kraken ams ... I hope it will do the job.
P.S.: I saw that a OEM housing is "only" 50 bucks, free shipping ... I guess I'll buy one just in case .
I would say that if you carry your phone in your pocket a case is a must. I generally like to go case-less (especially with a phone this pretty), but after having my One slip out of my pocket on a couple of occasions, I ended up getting a case (Poetic Atmosphere; the rubberized edges keep it from slipping out). If you intend on getting a pouch of some sort, I think case-free is fine.
Also, I don't have a screen protector and have no scratches, though I tend to be pretty gentle with my phones.

On Etradesupply, the OEM housing is only like 30 bucks.
I say a TPU case is a must because:
1) You WILL drop it at some point, it's anodized AL, not grippy plastic.
2) The case provides a lip, so if you put your phone face down, the screen won't touch the surface & scratch from w/e dirt is there.
3) The case will also keep the camera lens (or the anodized back) from touching any surfaces.
4) I wear a ring, and if I don't put a case on, the ring scratches ONTO the phone. That's not good.
If you're REALLY careful, then none of these matter. but it's hard to be perfect.
Besides, when I'm in bed, I can just quickly remove the case for a little bit. It feels nice.
This phone is just too good looking to cover up, IMO. I've been going naked since day one I don't have a single scratch on it. The aluminum housing is solid and whatever glass HTC used really resists scratching. My One X screen got covered in microscratches pretty quickly, but I haven't seen anything on this phone.
Just treat it with care and you can forget the case. CNET tried to destroy their test phone and couldn't do it.
I have a double dip case bought at once with the phone. Well .. the feeling simply does not compare with the case on. It just loos cheap and plastic'ish ... is worse than galaxy S4 actually. So, with all the risks involved I will go "naked" while in normal use and I will use the kraken ams for outdoors. That's all ...
I only like corner protection. I don't care about the back.
I used to have a screen protector on this but I don't like it, it doesn't make the display look as nice. I have since taken it off and have not gotten any scratches, not even micro ones. I think this display is more tough than previous GG2 screens. I had the ONE X+ and it scratched easily.

I respectfully disagree, as will most in this forum that Android is horrible.
Maybe you can post what apps you are looking for and other users can tell you if there are equivalent apps.

HTC One - bare / naked / without case

Are there any case haterz on this forum, who run their phones without any kind of cases / back stickers etc ?
Could you post some photos, facts, knowledge how well the phone stands everyday usage ?
I have been using case since day one, but i just can't stand it anymore. Did I buy alluminium phone to put it in rubber case or stick plastic sheet of foil on it to lose the feeling of alluminium ? No !
I drop my phone very rarely, actually i have never droppped it (knock knock), only time it hit ground it was clumsy bird's (jokin clumsy friend's hands) fault. My only concern is lens protector. On one side its nicely hidden in the rim, but at the other lens cover is protruding just a very litle bit. I am attaching picture to illustrate it a bit. It is side look.
There's a "hole" in the phone body, so the lens should be all hidden / drown and there should be 1 milimeter gap, when i place phone on table. On one side there is, on other lens is in line with body.
Grey - phone
White - gap for lens cover
Black - lens cover
Mods, please do not delete this topic - this has already happened in past (moved to accesories thread), but it get lost very easily, i try to debate with users without accesories.
Thanks
i did for apprx 4 months when i first bought the device, now i'm using crystal clear case to not to hide devices body.
i bought a case after i saw scratches on camera lens, luckly camera lens got replaced after service for red tint.
also shiny exposed alumium around the device got scratched and deformed a bit.
I also am not a fan of big bulky cases. One of the main reasons I bought this phone is because it is so damn beautiful (compared to most other phones). I've always joked about how iPhone fans typically rave about how "sleek" and "thin" their phones are, yet they walk around with them wearing the equivalent of a down-filled parka that is anything but "sleek".
I did compromise a bit, just because I want to keep my phone looking nice. I found the Cimo clear case. It is very thin, and very clear. It has just enough of a "lip" around the edge so that the screen of the phone won't contact the ground when it is lying down (or dropped on its face). The soft rubbery cushioning should also protect against dings on the corners and back, as well as prevent scratches. All without sacrificing the beauty of the phone. I paid $10 on Amazon for it.
NEH,
I did not buy a unibody aluminium finish phone to hide it behind chinese plastic covers. Thats not my style. I have pretty much the same type of use like yours. The only thing that has happened with me is that the beats audio red sticker at the behind bottom plate is now fading off. Nothing else. Just keep keys/card holder and coins in other pocket. I dont think you need a plastic cover.
When I had my One I used the HTC hard shell - minimal design but clear so you could still see the phone. Best case I had IMO

Whether you can still get it is another question
I've been using this case works well still shows the phones great looks and protect it all around.

Guys, thanks for all the replies.
But this thread is strictly about naked devices - no cases at all !
well ii put a case on it.... next time its still usable years down the road
Mine has had nothing on it except a transparent skin on the back since i bought it last May. Still looks great...
Yeah I've been running mines nekkid since I got it last April, just couldn't bring myself to spend money to cover such a good looking device. Other than some wear marks around the shiny beveled edge, there's no obvious signs of age.
I'm not rough on it, but I don't baby it either. I have dropped it a few times(on purpose, just to show people how durable it is), and run my knife across the screen and back, but no damage.

And what about lens cover ? Is yout lens completely hidden, or do you have it like me ? Hidden on one side, flush with body on the other.
Do you use any kind of pouch or something ?
never ever use a case defeats point of having such a wonderful design, have a leather pouch when not in us and just treat it like a baby when in use 6 months on still pristine not a mark

My lens cover is slightly recessed, so no, not like you, but haven't had any damage to it. No pouch or anything, just keep it in my pocket with my change.

No case.
I am careful when I lay it down on certain surfaces.
And I try *very* hard never to let it slip out of my hands and fall.
No damage due to general wear. I dented the back slightly and roughed up one corner slightly.
Totally worth it. Love the feel and thinness of the phone.

this is how i use mine. transparent cover over the back which i only put on because the aluminum is actually very slippery for me and the clear skin provides better grip so i dont drop it. clear cover over the screen and im good to go. few small areas around the front bevel where the blue has worn away but other than that its prefect. i never use a case, defeats the purpose of having a thin phone.
I Have been using it without cover, but in December it has fallen on the road so i ordered some cheap one from the e-bay.
So now, i am using it with cover, but i lost that great metal feeling of the phone.
Here is an example with and without cover

I use no covers, just matte screen protector (I like the way my display looks with it). Bought it in June 2013. It fell on the floor several times, it got only one scratch on the top (on the lright corner), but it still looks amazing! As it's always in my pocket, lately the "beats audio" logo on the back is going away slowly... but i use nothing to protect it

+1. Dont know how long I would keep the phone. But while I have it might as well enjoy the quality feel of it.
My HTC One is about two weeks old. I love it so much, I can't bring myself to cover this baby up.
Also, I am paying for a warranty, so if anything happens to it I'll get a new one, or maybe the M8 if they run out =D

Recommendations for a Slim, Soft-Touch TPU Case?

I'm a new Axon 7 owner and am currently searching for a case to use on this phone. The stock transparent case that comes with the phone is great but due to the fact it's a glossy plastic, it attracts a lot of grease from my fingers and feels dirty after a while. I also dislike it because the sweat from my hands will form into condensation on the back of the case. I also have a problem where the jack on my headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50) is too large to fit in the hole provided.
I decided to purchase the Spigen 'Rugged Armor' case from Amazon after reading a lot of positive comments about it, but I have been left disappointed and debating whether to return it due to the sheer size and thickness that makes handling the phone (Which is already large enough!) incredibly difficult with small hands. The case does not add much friction despite the material used having a rubber-like appearance, and I actually feel more likely to drop the phone as a result of trying to fumble with the added size. As well as this, the cut-out for the headphone jack is still too small even though it's larger than the wider than the one seen on the stock case. I also find it a lot more difficult to access the fingerprint scanner due to the thickness of the case surrounding it. Another problem is that the case is quite difficult to put onto the phone and a lot harder to remove, to the point where it feels like i'm actually going to damage the phone by attempting to do this!
For my previous phone, a Lenovo ZUK Z2, I had a fantastic Nillkin 'Frosted Shield' shell case that was made from a soft-touch rubber-like plastic. It was very slim at about 2mm in thickness at most, and although it didn't offer much in the way of drop-protection, it did have a nice textured back and that increased the grip tremendously. So, despite the case not being able to protect the phone quite as much from being dropped, it didn't matter because the chances of dropping the phone in the first place were a lot less likely. I wondered whether there was something similar for the Axon 7, but instead in a TPU-style with the sealed corners, and the same thickness as the stock case that's included with the phone? Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

That looks nice, it's kinda like the old Sandstone Black finish on the OnePlus One. There was one similar to this on Amazon UK but I don't think it had the same texture to it. My only compliant with that one is that it isn't a TPU case which completely covers the corners, but on the other hand the sand texture probably adds a lot of grip to reduce the risk of it being dropped.
I'm currently looking into getting the J&D case from their official website. It's in TPU-form which covers the entire phone (Except from the power/volume buttons!) and has the textured soft-touch back I wanted. The only problem with this one is that the glossy plastic edges look a bit tacky in the pictures, but hopefully it's not as bad in person as it looks on the website. I have a discount code which knocks a subtle 15% off the price listed, so it might be worth a shot.
Looking into this now myself. The stock clear case will go yellow as they all do. Getting cheap see through black case as a temporary till I find a good one. I find the clear one a tad loose at the side.

Thanks. I'm mostly interested in the grip. I had a similar case from Amazon. fr but it was in fact quite slippery (it had a satin feel to it). Had to send it back.
The stock case that came with the Axon 7 is quite grippy but it is slowly going yellow.

Hey, have you received the case yet? Just wondering what you thought to it. If either you or @Sui77 could post a picture of it, that would be great as well. I'm still debating whether to choose this or the J&D TPU case that completely conceals the corners. I can't stand using the case which came with the phone much longer, as it's made from glossy plastic and attracts a lot of filth and grease. I imagine the ARTILVST case would be a lot better in this regard.

Thanks for posting those pictures! That's a shame to hear the grip wasn't as good as expected. I wanted something which provided more grip than the stock case, so maybe this isn't the right one for me. I also live in the United Kingdom and having the case shipped from Germany would make it more expensive in postage costs. It does look like a nice case but I am worried it might not offer much protection if the phone is dropped. I think the J&D case would perhaps be better because it has a soft-touch back and conceals all the corners properly.
I have that same Spigen case as above, an Incipio TPU case in smoked brown, and another thin "shell case". This thin shell offers zero protection in case it is dropped, making using one pointless , IMO.
The Incipio case is OK, but again thin and will show wear very quickly. The Spigen one is my favorite hands down, doesn't add bulk to the phone all ports easily accessable, and the edges offer good grip.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions regarding the cases available for the Axon 7. It's interesting to hear how you found the Spigen case not to be bulky, because I found the opposite and returned it for that exact reason. I eventually purchased one of the cheap, plastic shell cases from AliExpress similar to the that in the pictures Joaste posted above.
My overall opinion on this case has been positive but it has worn on the edges and there are cracks down all four corners. As you mentioned, a shell case does not offer much drop protection but it's definitely better than not having a case at all and it does improve the grip quite notably. However, I wish it had a textured or 'Sandstone' back to help avoid grease buildup.
I am now looking for another case, but options in the UK are limited since the Axon 7 is not officially sold here.
I've been using my TPU smoke black case with a glass screen protector for a while and enjoyed that. I got fed up with the Poetic Revolution case because of the dry protector built into the front. It allowed dust and stuff in between the screen and protector. Tonight I stripped out the dry protector and put the case on with the glass protector still on the screen. Fits nice. I have a full coverage protector to fit and might see if it will work with the Poetic. Might need to trim the inner edges of the corners near the speaker grilles.
I've been using this Proworx case since right after I got my Axon 7, so for a bit over a year now. I wasn't super impressed when I got it so I figured I'd replace it as soon as I found something better or it wore out, but I'm still using it, which says something about it.
It isn't the slimmest, for sure, but it isn't as bulky as the Otter Boxes and whatnot that everyone with a non-cracked iphone seems to have. It protects very well - TPU around the edges, fully covering the corners (which is a must, in my eyes), polycarbonate back, enough of a lip on top to protect the screen if you set it down face-down, and the cut-outs and buttons are perfect. Good drop protection - I've "thrown" it onto asphalt, tile, and concrete without the phone getting a scratch. Also works well with the glass screen protectors we covered in another thread. Easy enough to put on and take off too, with no chance of the phone just falling out.
Again, not the thinnest, but not huge, and the protection is excellent. Plus they're cheap and come in multiple colors. And as is typical with cheap stuff manufactured in China, I've seen this same case under at least a couple of other brand names, CoverOn for one. For $5-$6 I recommend trying it - I like it enough that I pretty much never think about replacing it, even though it (a clear one) has yellowed a tad. After trying like 10 cases for my G3 and finding faults with each of them, I can say I like this one enough that I'll probably replace it with the same one, eventually.

I decided to order one of these in black to try out. Have been quite happy with my Spigen, but after installing this Proworx case yesterday, I think I am falling in love. Seems to offer enough protection, fits & looks nice, AND I kind of like how the buttons are a bit harder to push in, which actually prevents me from squeezing open the screen every time I try to pick it up. :good:

Quoting myself here.
Today I fitted the full coverage protector to my Axon 7 and it fits into the Poetic Revolution case nicely! Glad I stripped out the dry protectors in the Poetic cases. I've also now fitted a plastic protector over the glass one as a quick and easy tear off to sacrifice for wear and tear but the glass one makes the front of the phone flat. Even with two stacked protectors, touch works perfectly.
The picture is slightly misleading as the black section also covers the capacitive buttons so there's no indicator of position, but not being backlit anyway, it makes little difference.
Here's a quicky bunch of pics. I have a soft TPU smoky case, black Poetic Revolution and a blue/grey Poetic Revolution which can be mix and matched. Got a couple of little bubbles under the plastic protector and will fix that later, or just remove it. Looks good with just the full coverage glass one.
If anyone is looking for a slim case I just picked up a Bear Motion Sand from eBay. Best case I've had so far for my A7 and I've tried quite a few. Feels like my OPO did.

Been using this one for over 6 months now with out any issues , not as bulky as it looks and the stand is useful . I also have a full body clear skin from clear-coat that fits superbly, clear-coat has various outlets through the UK and installs as you wait , is a bit pricey at £30 for the full skin .
I work in the building trade so need it well protected .
