Can someone explain how LG's OTA policy works?
Some people get OTA on newest updates, while others are still stuck on old firmware.
Is it region or IMEI based?

What version did it say the update was? I bet it was for the update from 4.22 to 4.24
More than likely its the maintenance update for Netflix and some other things that were botched on the first release

Yeah I agree. Weird how it just pushed for it now, it's been out for over a month.
I still haven't been pushed this update...

Will anyone that has installed the stock JRN84D ROM from this thread, know if it will update OTA when subsequent updates come from Google?
I've asked in the thread, but the answer has got lost somewhere in the mire I'd imagine.
I'd assume so, considering its the same build as the Google I/O attendees are getting. Would assume they would OTA them, but they may expect that because they're developers, they would update themselves.
Nobody knows apart from El Goog.
As I understand it, no. You only get ota's if you're on the most recent official stock rom. You will only be able to install the ota if you have not changed anything on the official rom. I may be wrong but from experience that's what I think

Just got my p6 yesterday and have to say I'm very impressed so far.
Have noticed that my version is b106 and I see that there is now a b111 out there however when I go to the about section and search for the update it says not available. My handset is a sim free device from the UK. Does the ota update service not work? If I have to download and flash it manually how do I do this and also what are the benefits of this version? Not really had much to complain about with the phone so far so want to be sure its worth it.
Thanks

OTA doest work, just download the latest firmware and save it in a dload folder in ur sdcard, then just perform a local update asap!

The "B" stands for build number and it varies from country to country, some network providers also have there different "B" build numbers. If the B111 is meant for your device then OTA updater will prompt you for update, if you wanna update it manually by UPDATE.APP (dload method) then its the same if it is meant for your device then it will update but if its not then update will get failed

Hello friend
I am in Chennai, India.
But i am still in 10a version.
I dont see further update, still shows 10a is the latest firmware.
I have tried via both in OTA and through LG mobile support tool.
Both are telling 10a is the latest.
I don't know what to do!

Took my phone to service centre yesterday to get my charger changed. Since that guy was nice, i saw in his panel if they got beta kk for us and even they got 10a software with them.
That's initial version. Maybe you'll get it. I updated mine a few weeks back via ota (new delhi, reliance gsm)

Can anyone care to explain it to me? I wanted to make sure twice before flashing a custom ROM. My current phone (LS980 SPRINT) version is 4.4.2
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
ZVA was the official software update that enabled Sprint Spark. Currently we are on ZVD official software.
If you are on 4.4.2 then you are on ZVC or ZVD.

ZVD is better than ZVA? Or which's the differences? I've ZVA because I write from Spain, and I believe than only ZVA work's fine here as I readed in topic "permanet Sim unlock", but I don't sure. I've serious problems to Gps, work very bad...
Thanks
Flash a rom like cloudyflex and forget about sprint. I'm in italy and everything ok (except 4g).
