Hi after using this phone for nearly 3 months I'm in love with the stock apps that lg have.
Will these apps still be installable on aosp?
If you manage to port them or if there are no dependencies, then they will work.

99.9% - No. Only specially hacked versions will be installable, and they will be bugged. Unfortunately, they require entire LG framework in order to function - qslide framework, double window framework, Quick Remote framework, QCircle framework...
Guess I'm going to stick to the lg software then.
I hate the aosp dialers.
Not bothered about qslide double Windows qcircle
Just messaging and dialers qmemo
going to look into upgrading to th s3v3n android hd mod and see how that pans out

just got an s4 yesterday. always have run directly to computer to root and slam in cyanogen however i am giving tw a run this time before i dump it. here's my dilema:
i need to keep the s calendar (only works in touchwiz)
i need apps2sd
im a photographer and i use my cell for a lot of casual shooting - love the new features with drama mode among other modes. can i have them CM somehow?
so heres by question..... is there any way to incorporate any of the points in the bullets above in the new cm versions for the s4? and if not then what is a good launcher that will allow me to keep my touchwiz-ish apps and other stuff yet allow me to customize more than tw does?
thank you!!!!!
honestly tw isnt too bad. to customize use wanam xposed or 3minit framework. you'll have it the way you want. note that with cm you'll lose all the smart eye and gesture features. just stay with tw. i found it fast and customizable. and you get to keep the neat camera which is probably the most advanced on any cell phone

Well if you want app2sd you have to flash a touchwiz ROM based off the international phone since T-Mobile hasn't updated to app2sd. As far as launchers go nova or apex are both fantastic.

Hopefully we do not have any mods slamming people and I do not want to give up the "Friendly" part of my nick. No worries.

sview works with all these options:
for 3minit you need to get a rom that is an "authorized distributor". the dev is being very fickle about it and wants to make money by selling the app in the play store. the roms clearly advertise if they have 3minit. it's a "framework" built into the rom plus a companion app to choose settings
for wanam, you need to get 2 apps. you can use it without flashing any rom (even stock) as long as youre rooted. it is much more friendly to the community since they're free and mostly open source. so get the xposed app and then get the wanam app (from the play store). here is xposed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401 it's a java hook to overload methods (functions) so that custom code is invoked before/after any programming call. neato. wanam is one of the modules that employ xposed's hook functionality. there are many more to do other things, like have sview control poweramp! i would start with wanam first and explore other modules. you can start playing with it and if you ever end up on a 3minit rom then you can use that too; both at the same time
you should try nova launcher since it's very easily reversible. you can run two launchers at the same time! install it from the play store when you press the home button it will prompt you for the default launcher. you can choose to make it default, and clear it later. or just run it once. then uninstall as any normal app. if you like it, then you just keep it as default and touchwiz will stay around without being used.
for apps2sd you need a MGA rom. most are MDL (older) because that's the last one tmobile delivered. but people have ported the MGA directly from samsung so we have a newer rom with apps2sd. all of the smart sensors and gestures will work but wifi calling does not work because it is only available on tmobile's rom (MDL ones)

probably, i havent tried it on this device. from my previous experience it's less customizable than MGA touchwiz + xposed & wanam. and it doesnt have sview, smart eye sensor, motion, hover, and gestures. im actually not sure why people are using cm/beanstalk/GE roms on this phone. they couldve have bought a new nexus every year and had less bugs if they wanted aosp roms.
Can it be done?
It seems you have to run either Sense or GPe to get the HTC Gallery and the UFocus etc. Duo Camera features.
Am I missing something here - why can't these be lifted from the GPe ROMs to work on AOSP ROMs such as PA?
It's obviously harder to lift from Sense due to the libs -- but don't see why it's difficult from GPe to AOSP?
Just curious!

It's still down to libs and proprietary files from HTC. Without them it won't work
Also, questions go in Q&A
Apologies for the forum faux pas!
Sorted by Ghost, however
So it's still difficult to lift these proprietary libs from a GPe ROM to get it working in AOSP then?
I understand lifting from Sense is a lot harder as it's so integrated, but surely GPe & AOSP are a lot more 'compatible'?
Since HTC Gallery is available in the Play Store, and it's essentially this which does the 'Editing' on GPe - another way would be to just get this not spout "Not compatible with your device" when its installed on an AOSP ROM - because it will install! Just not run

GPe still has elements of Sense in it, as it uses Boomsound, Gestures, etc. so there are parts that still need the HTC framework to run so I'm assuming the camera app and the like need it
Well, I've now moved to GPe.
But - HTC Gallery says its Not Compatible in the Play Store.
Whereas, on Paranoid Android, I could at least download it - but when running it, I got a message saying it wasn't compatible.
I thought the HTC Gallery app would allow updated to HTC Photo Edit under GPe ROMs?

It's already built into the ROM. In the camera app, slide to open a picture and then go to 'Edit' and it's in there - you don't use the Gallery app at all
I understand that - but it's not the updated version with the UFocus "blur amount" slider, etc. which was released via the Play Store..
The description in the Play Store says that it only updates the HTC Photo Edit part on GPe, but it won't install to allow it to update.!

Well, I force updated the HTC Gallery app using the APK from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696399 It installs as an update to htc.albun.com which is already installed but doesn't show a Launcher icon. Gallery now appears, but doesn't work - and HTC Photo Edit has disappeared, so removing the option to use UFocus, etc!!
Argh.
So App Info -> Uninstall Updates -- and I'm back to no Gallery icon, but HTC Photo Edit is still callable from Edit on a picture.
Meh.
I'll stop messing now. It'll do!
Does UFocus still work for anyone/everyone? I'm on GPe as well, but my phone hangs on the "Processing..." animation when I tap on UFocus...

Working great on Sky Dragon GPe ROM...
Duo Camera
I am on Digital GPE rom 5.1 but duo camera features does not appear,it's a new camera style not like the stock one. I am searching for a rom that will work for my Duo camera.
I haven't tried any AOSP roms on my D851 yet, I actually find the LG apps like Dual Window and Quick Memo quite useful? Can I install these on AOSP, or do I need the LG frameworks for them to work? Can anyone offer alternatives to these apps?
Nope, not possible
Hey guys,
i searched here but can1t i find a answer. Can i install LG sotck apps in CM12? Apps like LG camera(because the beauty shot) and quickslide?
Or have some apps like that? Thanxs.
I would say that's is pretty impossible :/
Perfectly clear app has a beautification feature, im sure there are other apps.
Xposed module called Gravity box has shortcuts via custom hardware key presses which may be an alternative to quickslide.
Just google, search play store and xposed. Im confident you'll find something.
Xposed doesn't work on cm12 because it uses ART library.
Okay that should not be the versions of the LG Optimus G, but should not be even the LG G3?
I'm looking for a way to replace my stock dialer on 13b with Google own dialer and contacts app I've tried apkmirror for downloading them but they fail to install yes I made sure to try the one specifically for lollipop is their any way to do this?
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Obviously not what you want - I'm honestly not sure how to get those working right now -
but you could use KK Dialer and KK Contacts from GPlay, then if you really wanted you could modify the icons to make them look like Google Dialer and Contacts,
their UI's are very very similar to Google's Stock. These are my replacements ATM.
Hopefully we get support for these two soon though! I wish to see it that Google keeps building their apps to support more and more devices.
I got Google dialer 2.05.07 RC4 working on my H811 device.

Thank you for the confirmation, we're looking for a minimum of 5.0 or 5.1.
2.0.5.07 RC4 is minimum 6.0. But that is good to know for M users!
