Android L Music Controls - Moto 360

The stock music controls on my moto 360 does not work with Andoid L developer Enhanced build (Google Play). Music Control App from play store does work though. Anyone else?

I'm having the exact same problem, using android L for hammerhead the music controls don't work... Unless I use Music Control from the play store

Music players compatible with Google play manager

I services to move all my music to Google pay manager so I can stream it and save space. But does anyone know any music players besides Google music that are compatible with this so I can stream music?

Music API isn't opened up for developers yet as far as I know, so until that happens there's no alternative.
As far as I know, bubbleUPNP is the first and only, which can log into google music.

New OTA + Nexus 5 5.0 = OFFLINE MUSIC

So, to my surprise, after trying to get the OTA for the last few days, some new stuff popped up on my Moto 360. I have the newest 5.0 Developer Preview and the new Play Music. There is a new option in settings of it that says "Download to Android Wear: Store downloaded music on your Android Wear device for offline playback." There is now a Play Music voice command, as well as a Play Music app. Inside the app is all of the music that has been downloaded. It works, as I tested it by downloaded the free Deadmau5 album with some Bluetooth headphones. There's also an option in Settings to add Bluetooth devices on the Moto 360 now.
So far it works GREAT! I was going to give some screenshots, but my Nexus 5 camera has a bug in the new preview that doesn't let it focus, so when I get home I'll hook my 360 up to ADB and take some screens
That works for anyone that has the most recent Play Music update and 4.4W.2

Where is the stock music app?

Is it just me being stupid or is there no stock music app to listen to music? No widgets or anything?

Samsung removed a few apps and made them downloadable. Search for Samsung Music on Play Store.
I don't think they included an OEM stock music app. The Samsung branded Music app can be downloaded from the Play Store.
Dont bother with Samsungs music app. Use Elevel Player by CM
Google play is the only music player I found preinstalled.
^this.... and
This was one of the first thing I notice after getting mine trying to migrate my stuff from my iPhone 5s to the note 7. First I downloaded Winamp since it was my go to app when i was on android before the 5s but since os and app probably improved since then I looked up to see what might be better now and found out "Google Play Music" was the stock music app.... then i eventually went with Pi Music Player.

Music player recommendations/help

I am using a N 5X and the 7.1.1 developer preview and want to use one app for playing music on my device.
I have been using Play Music but find it a bit awkward to see what is on my device and what is on their cloud service. To get around this I have started to use Poweramp to play music stored on my phone and it is great but my phone does not recognise it as a music player app. So if I click on an mp3 file I get the option of Play Music or VLC to open it but not Poweramp. I have cleared all defaults etc but Poweramp isn't ever given as on option.
Likewise Poweramp isn't given as an option to associate with music on the android auto app.
Other than Play Music are there any good alternatives that are recognised as apps to set as a default for music files? Or am I (and Google search) missing something I can change in the settings to enable Poweramp as an option?

I always use BlackPlayer EX. For me it's the best music player on android.
Great design, great customization, tag editing, everything.
The free version is 100% usable so you can try.
Shuttle Music Player is pretty sweet. It's been my favorite for a while now.
I use sony walkman is really nice looking
Just use Default App Manager Lite to set poweramp as the default (it should work with nougat but i haven't tried it)
Asus Music Player simple beautiful in theme and apps section in nexus 5x section

I have tried that, the app says it is default but when I tap on an mp3 file I still only get either play music or vlc

One issue I have come across is that neither app is able to be prompted to play without manual intervention. So I have a task set within Trigger to open the music app when I connect to the car via Bluetooth, which it does, but when I press the media button in the car the track info comes up but doesn't actually start playing. Play Music does this and I am wandering if there is something I am missing?

I am using that Currently. Was looking more for a dedicated music app. Is there a YouTube music version similar to YouTube vance
Google music for me
iHeartRadio works for me :good:
I personally use Spotify since it is available on more devices, like my gear s3 frontier, or my echo devices
Play music, YouTube music, and Spotify for me. I don't think there is an app that plays mucic (without advertisment) with the screen off for free.

Spotify premium for me, and then I also download some music separate from Spotify as well
Google Play Music still with the original $7.99 intro price. Have all my old music uploaded to it and enjoy commercial free YouTube Red. I watch more YouTube than regular shows if anything.
Look for Ymusic-Youtube in XDA Labs... No need to root....
Google play music. I love the playlists that are based upon time mood and location
I love Spotify
I switched from Spotify to Google Play Music for a few months but ended up going back to Spotify just recently because they do a much better job creating and updating curated playlists and stations.
I prefer the Google Play Music UI but Spotify wins out in every other category.
Spotify , Tune In Radio , YouTube for music, Sirius XM
