Music players compatible with Google play manager - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

I services to move all my music to Google pay manager so I can stream it and save space. But does anyone know any music players besides Google music that are compatible with this so I can stream music?

Music API isn't opened up for developers yet as far as I know, so until that happens there's no alternative.

As far as I know, bubbleUPNP is the first and only, which can log into google music.

How do I get Google music to play on alternative player?

Hey guys. this is a pretty self explanatory question. I love Google music. I think the cloud service is stellar and I like the way it has ALL the music on my computer without ever having to put it on my phone. The only gripe I have is the music player. I like the player well enough but, im used to Playerpro and like the over all aesthetic value over Gmusic. The problem Im having is that there is no way to have my music that I say to "Make available offline" available on anything other than Gmusic. Is there a way to download songs and albums off Gmusic and use them on a separate player like PlayerPro? I know there is a way to move around files, but I already tried that and it was a no go.
Download it to play offline.

Try Cloud Music Sniper from the market.

Downloading it to play offline does not let me use the music in anything other than the stock Gmusic app.
Just put it on your phone and be done with it!
Try looking for the downloaded music in /sdcard/Android/data/com.Google.android.music/cache/music

[Q] Google Music in HTC Music Player

Any one found a way to sync Google Music with the HTC Music Player?
Don't want to install two music players... This should be something HTC needs to think about!
It's not possible. You have to install the Google music app for streaming.

At a guess, google want people to use their app and only their app for a service they are providing for free. I wish it looked better though as it is very basic. If it looked like player pro, that'd be nice

Yes but since HTC makes a phone for "U". This should be in it
beats audio works with everyplayer which is great
If you set some of your music to be available off line then Google Music syncs it to your phone. You can then set the folder it syncs it too to be visible so the music then shows up in all your music apps.
Only problem with this is google sync doesn't embed the album artwork and I also think it renames the files and strips the MP3 tags leaving you with just a bunch of files ....unless this has changed
Si
We can only hope Google will release the music api. Until then there is an unoffical api.

Music manager

Is there anyway to manage your music on your galaxy Nexus using your PC? Could you use Windows media player or real player in any fashion?

Use the website, https://play.google.com/music/listen
I believe that they're in the works in making a windows application, not sure when that'll be done.
On another note, have they allowed a way for us to upload music from our phones to Google music yet? I don't have a PC and all my music is stored on my phone.

Nope. There isn't Google Music API either.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...on-allow-apps-to-integrate-with-google-music/ saw that the other month though.
Still waiting for a day that Google releases API, MMS, and emoji for Google Voice texting too -.-

What is the best music app?

So there are several different music streaming services out there, who in essence have the same music and pricing structure.
What I am asking is which has the best performing app (not service) on Android 4?
My vote is Deezer as I use it daily on my Desire and it is quite good but not perfect.
Rdio looks like a very well developed app, whereas Spotify has several negative reviews.
Opinions?
I love turntable.fm when it works lol.
And I like soundcloud as well.
Normally I use Sony music Unlimited because of the sheer number of albums available unfortunately it isn't available officially for the nexus and the side load crashes.
I've fallen back to Pandora, tune in and rdio

MortPlayer is free and my new favorite that has more advanced features is PowerAmp
Most of the time I use Google Play Music since I've got over 1k songs already up, and they let you have a max of 20k songs. I can't imagine being able to find 20k songs that I actually like. No syncing across my computer/phone/tablet, just upload the files once into Google Play Music and then stream it anywhere.
The rest of the time I use Pandora.
So is Google Play Music the online store to rival iTunes that is only available in the US? Or is it the Android "Music" app to play local MP3s?
Pandora is interesting but also only in the US...!

Agreed. Our N7 is our first tablet, and first Android device and I immediately liked the 20,000 song storage ability.
Love xda, getting some great ideas from just browsing around here. :good:

Google Play Music lets you store songs you own, in the "Google Cloud", allowing you to play your songs from your phone/tablet/pc. You literally can upload all your mp3s into it - no questions asked.
You can also play music locally with it. And then the Google Play store also has music you can purchase which is added to your collection.

How do i store music in the cloud? I have like 10 gigs of music on my phone I wanna share at least some with my nexus 7.

I know Deezer lets you do the same as Play Music. You can upload to the "My MP3s" section of your Deezer account and stream them through the app.
It works quite well, but in Offline Mode obviously only the albums you download are available not any of the My MP3s tracks.
Also one flaw of Deezer is you cannot sync a single track for Offline playback, only full Albums.
My favorites in favorite order:
N7
Google Music
Cubed
Jango
I do own Poweramp, but like N7 better. I find Jango much nicer than Pandora. Cubed is just visually cool. I use Google Music on my PC at work 90% of the day.
edit:: sorry, I missed the "streaming" comment. Therefore GM and Jango only.
For playing music, the answer is simple - Neutron. It is amazing. What's even better is that you can get a special version for Tegra devices. Here's a link:

You want the NeutronMP_64.apk. If you are an audiophile like me, then you will be in heaven. Grab a good pair of headphones (NuForce is an amazing brand that not many people know about) and enjoy!!

i think the only way to upload is to install the music manager on your pc. you'll then select the folders you want it to upload.
NeutonMP is awesome for its sound quality , but I hate its interface. I love n7 player interface but their sound quality isnt as awesome as neutonMP.
I'd bought both Poweramp and N7 and switch between them. Using Poweramp more and more. Like the album art display much better, more sound adjustments (not that it matters much on a Nexus 7). N7 starting losing album art (or not finding it), so it's not getting used much.
download utorrent

I am using that Currently. Was looking more for a dedicated music app. Is there a YouTube music version similar to YouTube vance
Google music for me
iHeartRadio works for me :good:
I personally use Spotify since it is available on more devices, like my gear s3 frontier, or my echo devices
Play music, YouTube music, and Spotify for me. I don't think there is an app that plays mucic (without advertisment) with the screen off for free.

Spotify premium for me, and then I also download some music separate from Spotify as well
Google Play Music still with the original $7.99 intro price. Have all my old music uploaded to it and enjoy commercial free YouTube Red. I watch more YouTube than regular shows if anything.
Look for Ymusic-Youtube in XDA Labs... No need to root....
Google play music. I love the playlists that are based upon time mood and location
I love Spotify
I switched from Spotify to Google Play Music for a few months but ended up going back to Spotify just recently because they do a much better job creating and updating curated playlists and stations.
I prefer the Google Play Music UI but Spotify wins out in every other category.
Spotify , Tune In Radio , YouTube for music, Sirius XM
