Is there anyway to manage your music on your galaxy Nexus using your PC? Could you use Windows media player or real player in any fashion?

Use the website, https://play.google.com/music/listen
I believe that they're in the works in making a windows application, not sure when that'll be done.
On another note, have they allowed a way for us to upload music from our phones to Google music yet? I don't have a PC and all my music is stored on my phone.

Nope. There isn't Google Music API either.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...on-allow-apps-to-integrate-with-google-music/ saw that the other month though.
Still waiting for a day that Google releases API, MMS, and emoji for Google Voice texting too -.-

Did anybody else notice in the preview videos that the Music Beta app is the only music player on the phone? I don't currently own a phone that is supported by the Music Beta app but I thought when you download this app, it lives alongside the default music player, not replace it? But it looks like in ICS the old music player no longer exists and the Music Beta player is the default one?
Yeah. I dont know why you'd want the old one anyway... the new one is much much much better.
Why not? It can play local and cloud music files. It's the only one I use on my phone and tablet.
Just curious what Google's plans are for Music Beta going forward. If it's now the default music app on Android, then it's less likely that Music Beta is going to end up being canceled like Wave or Buzz. So you guys can confirm that on existing devices, Music Beta is an app that's in addition to the default music app?

I think it's integrated into the music app itself. I'm just beginning to upload my music to it now and, I think it's something i should have done from the beginning. As much as I switch devices, it can be nice to have.
They live side-by-side on my Continuum, but that's with adding Music Beta as a Market App, instead of a stock app.
You can remove the old one with root explorer on gingerbread. It's not needed. no point in have 2 apps, with one that does the functions of both.
Google Music is a Gapp that sits right next to GMail.
If a company doesn't want it, they'll use the AOSP music source, or load up their own.
You can disable Google Music syncing in the settings, or just use a different music app (in which there are plenty.)

Hi there,
I'm really new to android so please bear with me...
I have been using the Music app on my new nexus as a general music player for my android. I just noticed an mp3 on there that I didn't want so I held my finger on it and hit delete.
The message that came up said that the only version that would be deleted would be the "side-loaded" version, and the automatic upload to google music would remain.
Now from what I gather google music isn't open to the UK anyway, but I don't wanna use it when it's out, and I certainly don't want an auto upload using up data, but I can't see a setting to turn it off.
Is there one? Or do I need to download winamp or something else to use as my native music player to stop it?
Thanks for any help. It's massively appreciated.
As someone outside of the U.S. I noticed that too however, I connected to Google Music (via tunnel bear) but didn't see any tracks uploaded or listed.

maybe its just a standard warning message in the app for when you delete a track?
You're probably right. I don't think they'd have done a UK only version of music just to adjust that message.
Once google music is open in the UK though (which I assume it will be at some point) all my music is going to start uploading, which is pretty annoying.
I'm in Australia and have been using the music app for a few months now. As far as I know, it does not upload music stored on the phone. There is a program that you can download from the google music website which will allow you to upload your music collection or only specific songs from your computer to the cloud. You can then access the uploaded music files from the app on your phone.

As the title says, is there any way to backup the offline music from Google Music? I don't want to keep losing it.
Thanks
The way Google music stores the mp3 is a royal pain. Its not named semantically or tagged properly.
The reason after trying one album I ditched their model and continued to manage my collection on my own hardware and use Amazon mp3 to buy music.

Any one found a way to sync Google Music with the HTC Music Player?
Don't want to install two music players... This should be something HTC needs to think about!
It's not possible. You have to install the Google music app for streaming.

At a guess, google want people to use their app and only their app for a service they are providing for free. I wish it looked better though as it is very basic. If it looked like player pro, that'd be nice

Yes but since HTC makes a phone for "U". This should be in it
beats audio works with everyplayer which is great
If you set some of your music to be available off line then Google Music syncs it to your phone. You can then set the folder it syncs it too to be visible so the music then shows up in all your music apps.
Only problem with this is google sync doesn't embed the album artwork and I also think it renames the files and strips the MP3 tags leaving you with just a bunch of files ....unless this has changed
Si
We can only hope Google will release the music api. Until then there is an unoffical api.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge phone and although I see "call a car" as one of the available "actions" in the Android Wear app, I'm not able to click on it so I can't associate Uber to that action. Could someone check if they have the same issue? Does anyone know of a solution?

No uber
You can use lyft for wear I believe, uber app not yet supported. I think there might be a couple of a smaller taxi services that you can use also. Yes, in the browse app section under watch faces selection, there is gett taxi, and lyft under travel and local section.
I am seeing the same thing. I was not able to use Uber on the watch.. Maybe an update is coming from Uber...
IT's not just Uber, I have a lot of apps like this that I cannot associate an application with. Even "Play music" does not work because I cannot associate the action with the music player on my phone. Bit dumb.

I am able to associate Play Music with my watch. I noticed that while your watch is syncing it doesn't show up as an option but once its fully synced you should be able to choose Play Music as an action for your watch.

I dont have play music and it seems that's the only app you can associate. I've never used play music, I don't get on with it.

thanks mate
it's not a big deal for me, because all it does is launch the app on the phone anyway. If I stream music via bluetooth from my phone to my car, I can pause it and play it again from the watch.
It would be nice if someone made a custom ROM for the watch which allowed you to associate any app
I agree it should be opened up a bit.. Hopefully we may see some traction as speaker support is inbound..
