I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge phone and although I see "call a car" as one of the available "actions" in the Android Wear app, I'm not able to click on it so I can't associate Uber to that action. Could someone check if they have the same issue? Does anyone know of a solution?

No uber
You can use lyft for wear I believe, uber app not yet supported. I think there might be a couple of a smaller taxi services that you can use also. Yes, in the browse app section under watch faces selection, there is gett taxi, and lyft under travel and local section.
I am seeing the same thing. I was not able to use Uber on the watch.. Maybe an update is coming from Uber...
IT's not just Uber, I have a lot of apps like this that I cannot associate an application with. Even "Play music" does not work because I cannot associate the action with the music player on my phone. Bit dumb.

I am able to associate Play Music with my watch. I noticed that while your watch is syncing it doesn't show up as an option but once its fully synced you should be able to choose Play Music as an action for your watch.

I dont have play music and it seems that's the only app you can associate. I've never used play music, I don't get on with it.

I use nexus devices and it comes pre loaded on them. But yeah I have only seen Play Music as an app that can be associated.. Haven't seen an other 3rd party music apps that can be associated.

thanks mate
it's not a big deal for me, because all it does is launch the app on the phone anyway. If I stream music via bluetooth from my phone to my car, I can pause it and play it again from the watch.
It would be nice if someone made a custom ROM for the watch which allowed you to associate any app
I agree it should be opened up a bit.. Hopefully we may see some traction as speaker support is inbound..

Anybody not able to download offline copies to their Inc2 on the latest OTA? I know it's not my WiFi as I've checked to make sure it works. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the application. My phone is not rooted either.
Mines works, but it is on CM7
same here. works for me on cm7
I'm looking for anyone on the stock build specifically for listening to music offline.
I figured it out. You are allowed up to 8 authorized devices to play music from. Since I was flashing/reflashing so many times, I had my old device listed in there. Go into Google Chrome settings and just remove any unwanted devices. Music is now downloading offline for me.
It'd be nice if there was some kind of notification.
Anyone got invites for this or is only google sending out invites?

Some users will get 2 invites (which I've already used). If you sign up, it shouldn't take too long. I think i got mine within a week or so
Amazons music player destroys googles option. Lock screen controls, eq, more control over offline selection, store, and a lot more stable. Use that if you want a cloud player.

Agreed, though Google's looks a lot nicer/has more potential
I think Google might take a different strategy more along the lines of streaming similar to Spotify (or at least I hope). Hence, pinning for offlline.
That said, Amazon's has the one big advantage of letting you redownload your music rather than just pin it in a cache.
Anyone else finding problems with this?
Noom/CradioTrainer and SpeakToIt (Assistant) are 2 apps I use that can use music/playlists on the phone, neither of these apps can find any music or playlists but both apps claim to work fine with "stock" Android music players.
These are just 2 apps I use, I'm sure others use different apps that use music on the phone, how are you finding them?
Is there anything that can be done by the user to rectify this?
is there anything I can go back to the developers with to help it work better?

The package name of the new Music app is different from the old one. The developers just need to update their apps to send the Intents to the right package.

Actually, nevermind, I was wrong, it's not an Intent, it's a ContentProvider that hasn't changed in ICS, so I'm not sure why apps stopped being able to query playlists...
Those apps wouldn't be able to find your music from the Google music app anyway because that music comes from the cloud. Unless you pin your music from the Google music app, those songs wont store to your phone for the other apps to pick up.

The Adidas miCoach app still picks up playlists from the Music app fine, so it must be something to do with the apps you're using.
Is there anyway to manage your music on your galaxy Nexus using your PC? Could you use Windows media player or real player in any fashion?

Use the website, https://play.google.com/music/listen
I believe that they're in the works in making a windows application, not sure when that'll be done.
On another note, have they allowed a way for us to upload music from our phones to Google music yet? I don't have a PC and all my music is stored on my phone.

Nope. There isn't Google Music API either.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...on-allow-apps-to-integrate-with-google-music/ saw that the other month though.
Still waiting for a day that Google releases API, MMS, and emoji for Google Voice texting too -.-
So there are several different music streaming services out there, who in essence have the same music and pricing structure.
What I am asking is which has the best performing app (not service) on Android 4?
My vote is Deezer as I use it daily on my Desire and it is quite good but not perfect.
Rdio looks like a very well developed app, whereas Spotify has several negative reviews.
Opinions?
I love turntable.fm when it works lol.
And I like soundcloud as well.
Normally I use Sony music Unlimited because of the sheer number of albums available unfortunately it isn't available officially for the nexus and the side load crashes.
I've fallen back to Pandora, tune in and rdio

MortPlayer is free and my new favorite that has more advanced features is PowerAmp
Most of the time I use Google Play Music since I've got over 1k songs already up, and they let you have a max of 20k songs. I can't imagine being able to find 20k songs that I actually like. No syncing across my computer/phone/tablet, just upload the files once into Google Play Music and then stream it anywhere.
The rest of the time I use Pandora.
So is Google Play Music the online store to rival iTunes that is only available in the US? Or is it the Android "Music" app to play local MP3s?
Pandora is interesting but also only in the US...!

Agreed. Our N7 is our first tablet, and first Android device and I immediately liked the 20,000 song storage ability.
Love xda, getting some great ideas from just browsing around here. :good:

Google Play Music lets you store songs you own, in the "Google Cloud", allowing you to play your songs from your phone/tablet/pc. You literally can upload all your mp3s into it - no questions asked.
You can also play music locally with it. And then the Google Play store also has music you can purchase which is added to your collection.

How do i store music in the cloud? I have like 10 gigs of music on my phone I wanna share at least some with my nexus 7.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I know Deezer lets you do the same as Play Music. You can upload to the "My MP3s" section of your Deezer account and stream them through the app.
It works quite well, but in Offline Mode obviously only the albums you download are available not any of the My MP3s tracks.
Also one flaw of Deezer is you cannot sync a single track for Offline playback, only full Albums.
My favorites in favorite order:
N7
Google Music
Cubed
Jango
I do own Poweramp, but like N7 better. I find Jango much nicer than Pandora. Cubed is just visually cool. I use Google Music on my PC at work 90% of the day.
edit:: sorry, I missed the "streaming" comment. Therefore GM and Jango only.
For playing music, the answer is simple - Neutron. It is amazing. What's even better is that you can get a special version for Tegra devices. Here's a link:

You want the NeutronMP_64.apk. If you are an audiophile like me, then you will be in heaven. Grab a good pair of headphones (NuForce is an amazing brand that not many people know about) and enjoy!!

i think the only way to upload is to install the music manager on your pc. you'll then select the folders you want it to upload.
NeutonMP is awesome for its sound quality , but I hate its interface. I love n7 player interface but their sound quality isnt as awesome as neutonMP.
I'd bought both Poweramp and N7 and switch between them. Using Poweramp more and more. Like the album art display much better, more sound adjustments (not that it matters much on a Nexus 7). N7 starting losing album art (or not finding it), so it's not getting used much.
download utorrent

Hey guys, i posted this question in Help & Troubleshooting as well, but figured there is more traffic here, so ere it goes again.
Does anyone know as to why would youtube open (and show an error) on my phone, when i hit play music on zenwatch?
Youtube is not my default app, i checked.
Thanks in advance.
Make sure that in the Android Wear app the default app for playing music is the the player you want to use.

Only certain music player apps have Android Wear extensions. You can try using Music Boss for Wear from the market. That will allow you watch to issue headset remote commands to any music app on Android. I used to have it for Pebble and it may be worth the few dollars if you don't want to use a Wear compatible music app.
