Very strange behavior. A few days after I got my Moto 360, I started noticing that my phone ringer would be muted at random times when I know I didn't do it myself. I started experimenting and I realized that every time my 360 establishes a connection to my phone, the phone ringer automatically mutes. I tried factory resetting the watch, removing the bluetooth pairing, and nothing has fixed it. It's very annoying because I never know when my phone might automatically mute the ringer and I might miss an important call. I actually had to add a Tasker task to Unmute the ringer every time the watch connects.
logcat shows the onProfileStateChanged callback of CachedBluetoothDevice logs "profile HEADSET newProfileState = 0" after connection. Not sure why there's a headset profile associated with a watch. Any ideas on how to remove the associated profile?
I had that too. Deleted mini launcher and got rid of the problem, had to delete data&cache from Android Wear app also. Good luck, that's a sucky problem!
In the Android Wear app, in the settings, tap "Silence connected phone" and select "Alert on watch and phone".
Should fix it.
That seeting is if you want the notifications to be ON in both your Phone and watch. If I select Alert on watch and phone its annoying, I only want it on my watch.
Having same issue with my phone going to mute when watch connects again to phone.
Any fix for this annoying issue.?

Like the title says, my HTC P3300 automatically turns on the speaker when I answer or dial a number. And it doesn't matter if I push "Speaker on" or "Speaker off". The speaker is pretty loud so it's quite frustrating haha. I've done already 3 hard - resets to get rid of the problem, but after a few weeks the problem returns . Are there maybe some registry settings for the speaker, maybe some of mine are wrong?
Thnx already guys!
Any software that may be causing the problem? Phone alarm has this feature of switching speaker on automatically.

No don't have that kind of software installed. My installed programs are: USBKiller, TomTom, Batterystatus, Skype, HTC X button. Is there nobody else that has this problem??
I had this happen to me once, but a quick soft reset and it was gone, and hasn't returned. No idea what caused it.
It hapended to me last week, but a simple soft reset fixed it up.

I have the opposite problem. I would like to set up a profile so that when I am in the car, the speaker comes on automatically. Is that possible?
Thanks
We finally have our watches updated with the long waited 1.4 internal speaker enable firmware.
I was so excited to side-load the update to my watch and seeing the new features activated, but with more usage to the watch/phone (note5) I started getting frustrated.
Phone calls cannot be received (heard or voice out) from phone if bluetooth (Play phone audio on watch) is selected. (unlike my previous iWatch)
2nd flaw is the strange behaviour using Facebook messenger calling when audio is diverted to watch, but this time the calls fail.
I thought i would see if its only me facing this, is it the combination of my phone/ watch misfit? or its the update?
I have already factory reset my watch, to no avail.
Please share your experiences guys.
For me this works super cool, no problem. Speaker is very loud and clear. I use it 50% volume at home, whitch is enough.

When you accept phone call on a phone voice is automatically directed through phone's earpiece. When you accept it on the watch, voice goes through the watch.
You can also switch voice direction during call using button having BT icon within in-call screen. This is how it works for me on Nexus 5x and I find it quite consistent.

Unfortunately answering the call from the screen doesn't activate the ear speaker in my case, but I can activate the loud speaker!

Answering the call from the watch screen will answer on the watch. To me that is as expected. If you want to answer it on the phone use the phone to answer instead of watch.

I guess it's dependent on a device type, Android version it is running and most importantly a dialer app that it is running.
I can imagine devices having custom dialer supplied by a vendor that significantly differs from the standard Android one could yield different results.
Anybody else encountered FB messenger crash?
I'm facing very serious problems while trying to use HWatch to make/answer calls.
1. Without activating "Play phone audio on watch" everything works as before (no way to answer the call without pulling the phone). Somehow expected behaviour.
2. When I activate "Play phone audio on watch", I can answer the call on watch and apparently it thinks the call is going normally. Byt nothing can be heard on either side of the call. On phone the in-call UI is also displayed and no sounds played or recorded.
3. What's even worse, when I conventionally answer the call on my phone, it's somehow answered also on watch, with result being similar to 2 - no voice whatsover on either device - for about 10 seconds. After that the call is hung up on watch and starts to be hearable on phone. This is very annoying.
I admit, I have an old Samsung Galaxy SII running SlimKat 4.4.4 (which should include standard AOSP dialer). Maybe it has an old version of Blutooth or something screwed elsewhere. But for me the new 1.4 functions are now plain unusable.
Edit: Point 3 somehow fixed (or demonstrates randomly). But still: no audio stream between phone and watch.

Well I am somehow facing same issues with my GN 5 with the latest MM, in addition to crashing of FB messenger... Line and other voice calling apps are running fine.
OK so I figured if I set my phone volume to vibrate only, like I typically do when I'm in a meeting or at a Dr appointment, that my watch would also change to vibrate only, but it doesn't appear to do so because my watch still rings if I receive a call. Anyone else have this issue? If I set my phone to Do Not Disturb, then it silences my watch, but that also disables vibration which I do not want. I know I can also go into the watch menu and disable sound that way, but I just thought it was suppose to mirror the phone settings.
What about selecting "Sound on/off" from the drop down menu on the watch?

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I have already tried that. It just turns off sounds on the watch and not on the phone.
Sorry to revive a dead thread... going to bump here. But did you ever figure this out? Anyone? Thanks. =)
I was about to start a new thread about this when I found this one. I also want my watch to ring when my phone does and not when my phone is muted. I attend a few events a week where everyone's phone must be muted. I imagine that do not disturb mode would work, but I use vibrate only so I'll at least feel when I get notifications.
If I'm reading this Google article right, this should be possible and automatic: https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056843?hl=en
I keep having phone calls where I can't hear the other person and vice versa. Seems to be related to my Bluetooth connection to a Gear S3 as disabling Bluetooth usually fixes it (but then sometimes it randomly sides itself with Bluetooth on and I haven't done detailed testing).
I'm on Fi, but have been for awhile and never had this problem with my previous phone... I am using the software sim.
Anyone else experiencing similar, or know anything about it?

It's off. I should add, there's not even the sound of the ring, just dead silence and the timer starts, then eventually a disconnect. That's making me think the audio is being sent somewhere besides the speaker (even though the icon says speaker).

I get that to from time to time. It's as if the audio is routed to my watch but nothing actually comes out of the watch.

If your not connected to anything (Bluetooth) and the volumes are maxed out and you have nothing, it's RMA time. Have you tried the good ol' factory reset? Last resort

Interesting thought, though it definitely feels like software to me so I'm not rma'ing just yet.

I legit have the EXACT same issues. I also have a Gear S3. It only happens the first time I call, and then, if I hang up and call the number right back, it's a normal phone call. Have you figured out a fix yet? It's really a nuisance. Thanks in advance!

Seems better after the last two Tizen updates, but honestly I don't make enough phone calls to be certain.
Go to Bluetooth setting and choose ur watch setting and disable phone calls should fix it,i have huawe watch 2 and same problem.
After updating to Q beta 6, watching YouTube for some time, i have realized that speaker phone, ringtone and alarm not working.
Checked Do Not Disturb setting
Checked Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone and tap on a new ringtone sound, not hearing a preview of that sound play
Cleared cash and date and uninstalled most of the new apps
Phone reset
Downgrade to android 9.
...
Any idea?
Did you leave it connected to a bluetooth device? first thing to check.
