Like the title says, my HTC P3300 automatically turns on the speaker when I answer or dial a number. And it doesn't matter if I push "Speaker on" or "Speaker off". The speaker is pretty loud so it's quite frustrating haha. I've done already 3 hard - resets to get rid of the problem, but after a few weeks the problem returns . Are there maybe some registry settings for the speaker, maybe some of mine are wrong?
Thnx already guys!
Any software that may be causing the problem? Phone alarm has this feature of switching speaker on automatically.

No don't have that kind of software installed. My installed programs are: USBKiller, TomTom, Batterystatus, Skype, HTC X button. Is there nobody else that has this problem??
I had this happen to me once, but a quick soft reset and it was gone, and hasn't returned. No idea what caused it.
It hapended to me last week, but a simple soft reset fixed it up.

I have the opposite problem. I would like to set up a profile so that when I am in the car, the speaker comes on automatically. Is that possible?
Thanks

OK this happened the other day while out driving... at first i didn't notice... i was using my P3300 GPS driving far from home. (tossed tomtom which was useless for china and installed mapking)... anyway i was driving along merrily some 500kms from home, when i noticed that the GPS failed to verbally warn of a speed camera some 300m ahead, that i had manually input on a previous trip in the same location the weekend before. i had been using the GPS all day given that i had driven the 500kkms since 3am, so i hadn't changed any settings or nothing on the HTC.. but just thought at the time it was odd, but continued on... (the phone was plugged into the cars recharger) when later i noticed that i had recieved a sms, but wasn't aware of it since there was no sound... hmmm. so i stopped the car, and checked the phones settings... all seemed in order... both the phone and handset were on audible/sound and set to the highest audio level... but decided to change to vibrate mode, just to force some change, then after shutting off the GPS i powered the HTC down. waited a minute or so then powered up the HTC again... went to the handset/phone settings which were on vibrate mode and changed them back to audio and high settings...
still no sound, ok so i did a soft reset, and still the problem prevailed. i have tried to change the ring tones to something different (just the standard ringtones that came bundled with the phone), with no difference. i've gone to complete silent mode and both powered down and soft reset but still the problem is there, just no sound through the loud speaker. when i get a call & turn on the loudspeaker nothing... can't hear a damn thing. i've tried every possible combination... i have used SKtools & checked the registry just in case something weird had taken place, but the registry seems in order...
i checked mapking and made sure the audio option was selected for audible speed camera warnings -just in case, and it was fine...
if i plug in the ear piece no problem, can hear fine. if i use my bluetooth ear piece also no problem. the ringtones are standard, so nothing new there... also the other observation i have noted is that when i go to alter the default/standard backgrounds via the today page from "windows default" to either the standard "guava bubbles" or "HTC_default", the background remains as the standard blue of "windows default"
i'm looking at probably most likely having to do a hard reset, but if i can avoid doing so that would be great, as i want to keep all my contacts, my sms's and more importantly i have a shiet load of software/apps installed, plus some custom registry hacks, so that i'm able to view/read chinese on the WM5 English OS. none of which i'm looking forward to having to reinstall should the hard reset be my only option...
the phone hasn't missed a beat... its 4 months old, i haven't upgraded the ROM, nor gone for the WM6 upgrade due to the fact that i have so much software on-board that isn't compatible with WM6 yet. my view is... why fix something that aint broke???
anyone else had this issue with the loud speaker just kind of stopping...?
as i say it had been working fine and was in use for hours and hours that day when all of sudden ithere was no audio sound from the loud speaker. but nothing had changed...
any ideas???
additional...
...just to clarify one point concerning the wallpaper... that problem with the wallpaper/background has happened since the problem developed with no sound on the loud speaker, so that makes me think it might be a registry issue/conflict and not a hardware issue... however when i choose a different wallpaper like a photo etc, it displays. the problem seems to be with the 3 standard wallpaper/backrounds
I use the GPS alot with volume at max and my speaker died after 3 months. I sent it in for repair under warranty after an unsuccessful hard reset.
same thing happened with my mda 2 - speaker is blown most likely - di dyou live near london? if so go to southall it will cost you £20 and they fix it on the spot
Hi there,
It's happened twice in 2 weeks now, so I have to ask the question. Randomly, the sound on my TP2 suddenly comes through the earpiece as opposed to the speaker. Can't explain why and the only way to resolve is a soft reset.
Has anyone else had this and if so, can it be fixed please?
Cheers,
Pete
In the bluetooth settings there is an option to play the system sounds through your bluetooth device. Be sure to clear that option.

Happened to me once or twice as well. I was able however to revive the connection with disable & enable of the bucktooth.
Thanks for the tips guys. My bluetooth isn't actually on, never has been, so none of what you've suggested applies to me. It's a totally random thing (from what I can see) and does not appear to be related to Bluetooth or BT-related settings.
Cheers,
Pete

I made a soft, hard reset, and i was installing another OS, but nothing, the speaker is always on when making a call...
What can be the problem?

I've had the same problem.
The problem is that the phone ear speaker can't contact the circuit board.
Search the forum - there is a theme for this or go to the nearest gsm service or if you want you can find here how to disassemble the gsm.
I disasambled my artemis, and cleaned the contacts, but the prblem isnt solved...
The ear speaker is good, i tested it...so i dont know what to do
Or I need a hard reset?
Hi All,
Just the other day my speaker phone stopped working. I can hear the people I am calling, but the microphone doesn't seem to work. They cant' hear me. Not at all, it is like I have the phone muted-- but it is not.
Any body else with this? Any ideas, besides hard reset to try?
Thanks

There are loads of software apps that could interfere with sound, have you installed anything recently that you can remember?
have you applied any "tweaks" that you can remember.
Does it only happen when on speaker-phone or during normal calls.
It may be worth removing the back cover to make sure that nothing has interfered with the Mic Mute button on the rear of the device.
Give us some more info an I'll try to help further.
Cheers,

Hi Beast0898
Here is a list of software that I have installed in the last 2 weeks:
CarlosP ToneManager
cRaCKwHoRe's Snooze options
merlot mToolbox
Shubaroo Contact Fix
tarkim Keyboard controller.
I had not used the speaker phone for a while. Not since I installed any of the above, so if it is a software interference, it could be any of the above. Ideas?
The mute button is not blocked. And it happens when I enter speaker phone by turning it upside down, and when enabling it with the button on the dialer.
Any ideas?
Did you get it to work? I've encountered a weird problem recently myself where suddenly all system sounds seem to stop, including dialing tones etc.. but if I let the phone go into speaker phone mode, that does work. I hang up the call and suddenly sounds are back.
It seems to only happen when I use Groovefish and/or Nitrogen, so I wonder if one of those is causing some weirdness, just haven't pinned it down yet.
if this is the same bug I had on mine, you can either toggle the speaker phone button twice or do this:-
There is an easy workaround for this problem. On your Touch Pro 2 go to the home screen. Slide to the "Settings" tab. Tap the "Menu" softkey and choose "All Settings". Tap "Personal" then "Phone". Open the "Advanced" tab and change "Reduce noise in phone calls" to "Never".

Does anyone know how to get rid of the End Call Beep on the HTC One M8? This loud beep is very annoying.
Thanks!!
Anybody have a clue? This is really annoying to me and I am sure it is to a few others.
Thanks for all help in advance!!!!
It's a carrier thing, you can't remove it.
It is not a carrier issue ... I will try this:

I also had this problem and was only a problem with blue tooth connections. It turned out that I could turn down the volume of bluetooth notifications and alerts so that the beep was quite tolerable. While in a call, push the volume button down or up and a menu pops up, click on the gear or star icon on the right of the pop up menu and it will take you to another menu that you can slide the volumes of notifications and alerts from high your current high level to a lower level.
I was on with HTC today and they wanted me to send them the phone for repair! Fortunately I found this setting that relates only to the bluetooth volumes.
Hope this helps you!

I am sorry to resurrect this dead thread, but I'm having this same problem and I don't use bluetooth headsets... the call status tone for connections is killing me...
I have rooted my phone now and it's not a carrier issue (all HTC one M8 software installs seem to have removed the "Call alerts" branch from Settings>Applications>Phone>Call Alerts>Call Status Tones) so I'm trying to find the xml responsible for these settings so I can disable them there. I wish I had an app that could search xml files for text from root so this would be easier like aGREP only that can search root and xml...
I would leave this thread dead except for the fact that I'm still facing this problem and recently had an ear issue that has made this beep so much more painful... and holding the phone away from my ear while waiting for the beep to pass has caused people to hang up on me
