hey what is the best settings to watch a video on coreplayer. My player seems to lag alot when i watch something, any ideas as to what i should do?
play at open in fullscreen, unchecked enable network access, changed video output to QTv Display, High Video Quality and smooth on, and add some preamp
I never be able to watch video at full speed using coreplayer (always a little bit laggy)
I think we must wait a new version...
it is because coreplayer doesnt support hardware acceleration
we all want that coreplayer adds this option...
if you guys are talking about movies, try downloading one of axxo's movies (google axxo) i promise you, you wont regret it you may even show off your x1 even more like i do lol
avi format and no lag on the x1 with coreplayer, actually i prefer to watch axxo conversions on my x1 than on my tv or laptop
btw, his full movies are about 700mb
Even if you do use downloaded videos (whether they're from axxo or not) you always seem to get lag. The only time I've got anywhere close to watching a full movie problem-free is when I've switched airplane mode on. I think by doing so you're stopping any additional software/hardware from running, leaving coreplayer to effectively run on its own.
I've messed about with some of the settings but never got anything that was noticably better than another. Guess we need to wait for software that uses the hardware acceleration
badger mushroom, try one of axxo's videos and prove me wrong, axxo's uploads play exceptionally well with coreplayer, and i am sure many many people can testify of this, try it and see for yourself dude.
i have tried all and i mean all conversion settings using 3 of the best converters, its true u do get a lag, but i promise you if you try axxo vidz, you will eat your own words checkmate
I watch videos without lag quite fast I'd say, I just convert the videos to flv and 800x480 and it flies
hey
i think this would be best.....try it n plz let me know

Hello my friend, I had your previous UC-Lite image and now I switched to this new one.
Everything is ok but Xperia Tweak still does not work (like old image), please see pic below.
Any other way to disable screen turning off during call ?
Thanks

I was unaware that the Fire TV XBMC did not play certain MP4 and MKV files with Dobly Digital.
I came across three different files one was a 2 were Mp4's and one was an Mkv that XBMC recognized as 5.1 files.
1 - I made sure that passthrough was enable to goto my receiver along with DTS enabled
2 - I was unable to find an updated media analyzer software to figure out what how the audio was encoded so I know what doesn't play on this system
3 - I then took the same files and I played them on my Midnight Mx2 w/ xbmc 13.1 and they both were identified and played properly in 5.1 on my receiver.
4 - I have used my Firetv with a ton of DTS and Dolby Digital files however these three for some reason do not work.
Does anyone know a good media analyzer software that will give me the correct information?
Also I'm assuming I have to wait for an updated Firetv firmware to fix this issue ?
I am running xbmc 13.2 not rooted but side loaded. Passtrhough is enabled correctly in the audio settings. XBMC recognizes the files as 5.1 but will not play that one my receiver.
Please let me know
thanks
I use MediaInfo which is updated regularly.

any one have recommendations on what I should re-encode the tiles as? to get the right audio for the fire tv?
Try Handbrake. You can change the container from MP4 to MKV and transcode AAC to AC3.
I'm totally unable to play anything with Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. formats in XBMC 13.2 or 13.1. I am hooking up to an Onkyo receiver using HDMI and through that to a Sony TV via HDMI. Receiver shows 2 channel stereo only and never switches to DD or DTS (let alone HD formats).
If I start using just the Amazon interface, I can stream content from Amazon in DD mode just fine, so I know the basic connections work. Once I start XBMC, it works fine except all output is in 2 channel stereo.
Not only that, once I start XBMC, and then exit and go back to the Amazon interface, all programs that stream from Amazon fail.
Can anyone confirm this behavior?
Thanks in advance

What are your settings under Audio output? please confirm this, and make sure audio passthrough is enabled along with dts capable receiver.
I have had a lot of success with the fire tv with a lot of different files, but I found some that had an issue.
To get XBMC to transcode AAC 5.1 to AC3 5.1, in the Audio Setting under System, ensure you have Passthrough enabled, and the number of speakers set to 2.0. (This doesnt affect your ability to pass 5.1 audio on the passthrough, as it essentially does nothing for a passthrough device, but the setting does enable the next option). Now under the passthrough section, where you select the capabilities of your receiver, under the AC3 capable reciever, there will be an option to enable Dolby Digital Transcoding. Enable that, and your AAC 5.1 will be transcoded to AC3 5.1 and passed through to your receiver as such.

Thank you so much! Did not see in XBMC that there was an advanced settings selection. Once I selected the advanced settings and chose the options as you specified, DD and DTS worked fine.:good:
rrussell50, did this work for you? It did not work for me, and I am having the same issue. DTS works great, but DD 5.1 passthrough is not working. I am running Gotham 13.2 sideloaded. The FireTV has not been rooted.

No it did not I was replying back finally to ask for instructions, even though I am familiar with handbrake and have used it for years I could use a refresher on changing audio streams and containers. I'm used to just converting everything to an apple approved codec to make it work across all devices
So I tried using the universal preset and changing some of the options in the audio to ac3 but that did not work
could really use some help
thanks
13.2 does work with DTS audio and Dolby 5.1 please read my first post and my reply to the person who previously had trouble with getting it work.

Im not sure if this is of any help but I have DTS,AC3 and AAC 5.1 working with the fire TV. All I had to was basically what snowf0x wrote, and I also had the setting at "best match".
Could you post a screenshot of your audio settings? and maybe the title of your file so I could try it on my Fire TV?
Have not found any files which doesn't work yet. I also have mediacodec disabled with libstagefright enabled. The ONLY issue I have is LQ AVI files being a little choppy but that is a known issue with the fire TV.

Thanks for help, I want to be clear it is not all files it is just a small handful of files (the ones I posted on the previous page) that are giving me this problem. I have the exact same settings on my other XBMC boxes (Midnight Mx2, Apple TV 2) and it plays perfectly with Dolby Digital and DTS. Just for some reasons those 4 files out of the 100 I have play incorrectly.
If someone could just give me the settings in Handbrake to get them to play correctly that would solve my issue. If you PM I can tell you the files that I am using and you can test for yourself

N7 Crash on Lenovo Tablet (B6000-F) - fixed with restart (but important info)
Crash: on first open, and subsequent opens, app crashes. Have sent report via app (not Google). Team should have it.
Restarted and the app works.
------
Detials:
App: 2.4.2
Device:
Android 4.4.2 (3.4.67) stock.
Lenovo "Yoga 8" Tablet: B6000-F
---
App crashes on "open". First time: Crashes after a few seconds on black screen. Error: Application Crashed! com.nmobile.nplayer.
Report showed it crashed whilst scanning for music.
Thoughts: I assumed ti may have something to do with the insanely long filenames that n7 make, as I deleted my library and then copied it from my phone (which has n7 and works fine) and recieved errors saying several of the file names are too long.
EG:

This may still have something to do with it as i deleted all of my album art.

Hey Mate,
It seemed to work for a while (Since my last post) but as of this morning it has started crashing again. I've sent 4 reports -
1. Report after first crsah
2. Report after cache/data wipe & restart
3. Report after uninstall/reinstall
4. Report after uninstall/full data wipe (delete full 7n folder - 152MB)
After report no.4 I restarted again and rescanned my collection and it works fine. All album art is showing. I have managed to replicate the crash, but I still have on idea what has caused it, as I can't isolate it. When I tried I wasn't able to make ti crash a third time.
Sequence of events:
I was using n7 briefly before closing it. I then plugged the tablet it in to USB (charger only), then switched my internet on, installed iDisplay, switched my USB mode over to media & debugging . I tested iDisplay and didn't like it so I closed it, then turned on the Dolby Digital app and switched it's preset from Movie to Music. I then opened up n7 and it crashed.
I followed the sequence to the point where I installed iDisplay & switches USB/Wifi and then it crashed (so pretty sure not the Dolby App) but playaing with the wifi and USB and iDisplay individually makes no difference.
Note - this is the unlocked/paid version.
The applications you are using are conflicting with the application unfortunately
XBMC sideloaded and trying to play a 10 GB MKV (1080p + DTS) which stutters very much.
Same MKV reduced to 5 minutes playback, but same codecs, resolution, audio. Only difference is the size: 200MB. This one plays very smooth.
USB 3.0 plugged into my router and FT connected directly to my router.
Anyone who knows what the problem is?
(Netflix 1080p does play smooth, though.)

on a fireTV? did you disable mediacodec and enable libstagefright?
are you pulling up the codec info overlay and making sure its not buffering the video at all?

Is the video trying to play with XBMC (Kodi's) internal player? Is the video streaming via a url, a connected network or from external/internal storage?
Try (if possible) playing the video from a 3rd party app (i.e. BS Player, MX Player etc) & see if it still stutters.
I've had similar issues when trying to stream via url but if I download the video & play it in MX Player, there's no stutter.

Mine stuttered like this and the hardware acceleration fix above did the trick. Now the issue I have is with buffering. I'm on the Fire TV Stick, so I can't connect it directly. Videos often have to buffer several times. I have an older HTPC streaming wirelessly right next to my Fire TV Stick without the issue so I know it's not the router.
<advancedsettings>
<network>
<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<cachemembuffersize>157286400</cachemembuffersize>
<readbufferfactor>20</readbufferfactor>
</network>
</advancedsettings>
Worked for me! For one mystery reason it activated my hardware decoding
Before hardware decoding was activated but playback forced software decoding. Weird, but thnx!
I'm pretty pleased with XBMC installed on my Fire TV, but it's not without its issues. For one, despite having a hard-wired 18mbps Internet connection, movies seem to pause a lot. I often have to stop, let it buffer a while, then resume. This happens with 1080p movies, 720p, occasionally even SD movies. (I think the wife is about to chuck my FireTV out the window.) But sometimes, playback is totally fine, and I'll watch a 1080p movie from start to finish with no hiccups. So is it the source file, or why do I sometimes have issues? I have no trouble at all streaming iTunes movies from my Apple TV. (Haven't tried an Amazon movie yet.) Is there a way to tweak the FireTV for better streaming performance?
You can try this -> http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache
I had an issue where it wasn't buffering, but after a while the video became choppy...
I had to adjust... Settings -> Video -> Playback -> select Sync Playback to Display, then set A/V Sync Method... to Video Clock (resample audio).

Thanks for the link! Think I'll try my hand at an advanced settings.xml file and see if it improves things.
On the lodi.wiki page, I noticed this tidbit:
>Note: Even if you change the cache settings in XBMC, that won't change how fast the video file data comes in over the network. For example, it won't make a slow server load the video any faster.<
Perhaps that explains the discrepancy between how videos play? Perhaps a movie that's stopping to buffer every five minutes is streaming from a slow or heavily trafficked server and there's nothing I can do on my end to improve performance?

>Note: Even if you change the cache settings in XBMC, that won't change how fast the video file data comes in over the network. For example, it won't make a slow server load the video any faster.<
Perhaps that explains the discrepancy between how videos play? Perhaps a movie that's stopping to buffer every five minutes is streaming from a slow or heavily trafficked server and there's nothing I can do on my end to improve performance?

COuld be. I don't know where you are streaming from. In XBMC/SPMC I only stream my local backup copies from my "server" in the basement.
Just wanted to say thanks KidJoe for pointing me in the right direction. Looks like I've solved my stopping-buffering-stopping issue by adjusting the FireTV's cache.
For users with Fusion installed, it's a very simple task to adjust the cache using the Maintenance Tool's Zero Cache function, as outlined in the following YouTube video:

Thanks to the helpful folks here in this forum, things are sailing smoothly on my XBMC-enhanced FireTV, and I'm lovin' it.

I was planning to adjust mine tonight or so. Thanks for the link!
Instead of using the 0 cahe that can put more wear and tear on your SD which could shorten your devices life span try my adv xml settings. With this xml the only buffering is caused from server end not mine.
<advancedsettings>
**<network>
* **<buffermode>1</buffermode>
* * <cachemembuffersize> 314572800 </cachemembuffersize>
* * <readbufferfactor>20</readbufferfactor>
**</network>
</advancedsettings>
Thank you for posting your advanced settings. Yes, I too have moved away from the Zero Cache approach, and instead, implemented Advanced Settings like yours. I've got the buffer mode sent to 0 and the cachemembuffersize set slightly higher, but basically the same approach. The results are much better performance on the Fire TV. Greatest benefit: the ability to fast forward and rewind! :laugh:
