i made a boot animation its a .qmg files but i noticed that when making it you cant really set a speed on the boot animation, (unless i missed something) so im assuming you change the speed somewhere else because when i change it after flashing a different rom the speed changes too so im thinking you set it through the rom somehow or something any help would be much appreciated.

I've spent much of the morning searching to no avail. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I want to make a custom boot animation that is simply a toast box that says "Welcome Will......One moment please." Or something such.
I want it kinda like Myn's boot, except my words instead of "warm2.2" Is there a simply way to do this other than learning how to create custom boot screen animations?

As far as I know, cause I have done the same searching, the only way is to learn how to create a custom boot animation. Or you can ask one of the awesome devs here to make on for you like nugglyunlimited or stoney 666. They have done great work for me in the past on splash screen and helping with boot animations. Hope this helps
I thought it would be easy. On warm 2.2, the boot screen looks like a system generated "toast" box. In Warm there is no animations really. So perhaps there is a config file somewhere that has the words "warm2.2" (and whatever else the the message says).
No, you need to modify the bootanimation.zip file. It essentially just contains a bunch of PNGs that are shown in succession to create an "animation".
There is no bootanimation file on myn's. At least not in system/media...
I am actually on mikfroyo right, bit I looked inside Myn's Rom.zip and didn't see a boot animation file.
I know where they are at and how to change the .png....I just don't see it in Myn's Rom. That is why I was thinking a script that runs his message at boot "Warm2.2"
Hello, all. I am a bit stuck on something and hope someone can help me. A while back I modified one of those BIOS boot animations to match the info on my Evo, and today I modified it to reflect my ROM change.
After editing, I got all the separate pictures back together and put them into an uncompressed ZIP file like I did before and put it back in place of the old boot animation, the only trouble is now when the animation runs, it seems like it is going about 2x as fast as it should.
I didn't decrease the number of pictures/frames and when you watch it, the actual animation is going crazy fast. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Increase the number of frames?
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.

I installed my carrier's latest firmware, and they've gone and installed custom boot and shut down animations. That didn't seem like such a big problem, I see from the CSC files list that they replaced bootsamsung.qmg and shutdown.qmg (the looping 'S' animation at the end of the boot would still show). So, I went ahead and replaced these with the stock ones from an unmodified JVO, as I don't mind the stock animations. Unfortunately, the timing seems off. The boot animation runs too slowly, and the shut down animation runs too fast (I think - not 100% on that one). So, I take it that the speed of the animations is stored elsewhere, but I have no idea. If anyone knows, or has some idea, I would very much appreciate your assistance.
No one knows about how this works?
For anyone who comes across this, I've now discovered that the information was stored in /system/csc/customer.xml .
I'm currently running a lightly customized stock build. I would like to get the original SGS2 boot animation to replace T-Mobiles crappy one. Anyone know how?
Also I want to remove the animation and sound that plays when you turn off the phone. Anyone know how?
Thanx

i think you might need a custom kernel to do this, synergy, bullet etc, correct me if im wrong.

I'm already running Fauxs custom kernel. I know I need to replace the animation file somewhere in the rom but I don't know where. I have no idea about the power off animation and sound though :-\

hope that helps
You could also run BeastMOD or CM, which both allow custom boot animations, though I'd suggest Cm.

I recently flashed LiquidSmooth 2.8.
Was wondering if anyone knew how to turn off the power on animation?
Are you referring to the bootanimation? Some roms and kernels hardcode theirs, and there seems to be no changing that [that i have cared enough to research]. You can change a bootanimation, or maybe perhaps delete it and see what that does. Definitely do a nandroid first though! The bootanimations are found in /data/local and/or /system/media.
Yeah the boot animation. In the past i was able to turn it off in settings. Maybe it is hard in there. Thanks.
