I just stumbled across how to modify the order of the status bar icons on the top right corner (clock, wifi, cdma, gps, etc). This is something that has eluded me for a while, and I was curious to figure it out. Not sure if anyone else has done this yet or not.
Is there any value in pursuing this further, in order to figure out a way to automate the process, so that the user can choose their order, perhaps via an app?
Worse case scenario, it can already be done manually, but it is not very custom / repeatable, w/o modding each users desired order one at a time, which isn't incredibly interesting to me .
hasn't ever crossed my mind as something i'd like to be able to do.
Yeah, that's why I wanted to check. To get a gauge whether this is something worth pursuing. I know I've been asked about this back in the Hero days, but other than just being able to do it, not sure the practical application / value...
You know -- I'm not sure if it's within the same realm, but an application that could turn them off and on would be nice. I know certain ones can be turned off in AOSP/CM.
A real world situation: I'm using a Sense ROM, which has the signal (not differentiating between 1x and 3G), time, battery, etc. in the status bar. If I use a clock widget with battery, I no longer need the battery indicator or the time for that matter. I actually use Real Signal to check my data signal strength and whether or not I have an EVDO connection. Both the clock widget and Real Signal eliminate my need for the same icons on the status bar. What's the sense of having widgets or other notifications just to show information that's already in the status bar?
My 2 cents, at least. I also appreciate all of the mods and development you've done for us EVO users, by the way!

I was thinking this same thought. Such an app would be great in instances where the user would use clock and battery widgets and not need it on the bar. On the other side, if a user decides to get rid of their widgets it would be great to be able to get the battery and clock back on the bar through an app rather than hardcoding the smali files.
I think this idea has potentials. Jschisurf I vote yay on this.
If you could arrange and toggle yes but it doesn't make sense to have you do all that work just to be able to swap them around

This is unrelated to toggle, rather, status bar only.
In terms of turning various icons on/off in the status bar, that is a bit more of a challenge, as each icon is controlled for display in very different places throughout the services.jar file.
Oh well, this will be another one of those mods I keep to myself for fun
I would rock it myself because I dig your work, but I am selfish like that haha
as most of you know, microsoft is taking suggestions to improve wp7
i believe this is easier and better than a notification center, if you agree please vote.
thanks.

Interesting idea, but I would still prefer a notification center outside of the lock screen.
Yea great idea, but will MS actually do what we suggest or trick us again by creating features with fancy names that dont do exactly what we ask.
3 votes from my side.

So i am making my first widget and i am trying to get a progress bar on both side and i did't find a flip module in the settings so i was wondering if there is a way to make the progress bar go in "reverse" if you will. I have looked for how to do this both on google and here and nothing. Hoping someone here can help me or i might have to submit a feature request (filp module) if nothing is currently available to do it.
Never mind if i would of taken an extra second i would of got it....MODS you can delete this so it doesn't waste anyones time...sorry guys...
I have a really werid specific request - if you can help me out I'd be super grateful. I am posting here in order to reach to a much wider audience. Thanks!
So I have a OPX that seems to have burn in due to on screen nav buttons.
I was wondering if anyone can help me change the color of my navbar to the 'inverted' colors to 'reverse' the wear?
Thanks!

Want something like this at the bottom : https://i.ytimg.com/vi/sinIMsLmW-s/maxresdefault.jpg
If no one's able to easily do that then you could also just turn off the navbar and use the capacitive buttons.

Oi, mates.
So, as we all know, the OP6T has a notch. Issue with it compared to Google's native software implementation is that the status bar mostly behaves like the notch isn't there.
If we take a look at the developer options, we can simulate a display cutout with the "Double display cutout" which realigns the status bar and gives it more breathing space. Unfortunately, that also makes the notch bigger as the OS simulates the bigger notch.
I've attached screenshots of both of the layouts.
If someone could possibly modify the layout to use a layout made for notches, I'd really really appreciate it. I believe this can be achieved via a substratum theme or a Magisk module that utilises the OOS.
If I'm being unclear or you're wondering something regarding the simulated notch (maybe using OSS to patch out the black bar so it's invisible?) Then please let me know and I'll try to elaborate.
Thank you in advance and I'm really hoping someone will fullfil the request.
Bump
The status bar is already tall enough to accommodate the notch, what exactly are you asking for?

I'm asking for an option to use the stock AOSP layout.
It might be nice if it also aligned with the end of the corner radius, as at the moment there's still a bit of dispay curve below the status bar and it kind of looks sloppy.

The AOSP implementation is to make the status bar as tall as the notch, which is what they are currently doing. I don’t see what you think the benefit will be if extra space is added.

I didn't ask for your preference. I am requesting a mod to adjust it to my preference.
Why would you want the status bar Taller then the notch. Makes no sense

Read the post right above yours. Thanks.
I did. Since your the only person that would want something weird like that I very much doubt someone is going to take the time to make a useless mod
I think you're being 100% unclear as to what benefit what your asking for even has. Out of the box implementation is just fine in mine and probably nearly everyone but yourself book. If you want someone to go out of their way to make something you might want to give an actual use case for what your asking for or it's unlikely anyone will even try. Just my 2 cents though.

It's literally the way AOSP is. I use Google's gestures too, which people usually dislike even though OnePlus gestures are available. Why would I do that? Because I want a stock setup. Android is about choice, not "why that's pointless". Do you attack all those people with custom Zelda themed battery indicators and odd icon packs?
You can literally toggle this layout. Only issue is that you get a bigger notch.

What if people would like a stock layout? It's literally how Google implemented it. OnePlus modified it on top of what Google made (they basically removed it altogether but whatever)
Why would someone want a taller status bar? It's nothing but a waste of screen space. If anything, I'm trying to find a way to hide the status bar and display apps underneath the notch as if it doesn't exist.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything here just trying to help, I guess I just don't get why what we have doesn't work for you. Maybe an AOSP rom would have what your looking for (pixel experience did release).

That's what YOU prefer. Why is it so hard to grasp your mind around my preference? I prefer my status bar to be at a good position according to the curvature of the display. I work as a UX designer, and things like this bother me. I'd like to see if someone could take a look at this because it's a fairly simple task.
I didn't ask for your opinion, so please, just leave.

That's the thing, I like the stability and battery life of the stock ROM. + smart boost is a nice thing to have with 8GB of RAM. I don't think any other ROM (unless stock-based) will have those features. I literally just want a Pixel skin slammed on top of OxygenOS to revert what OnePlus changed. Someone will likely respond with "you should have bought a Pixel" but let's hope not.
Android is about freedom, right? That's why I'm asking for help to customise it to my liking. It's not even a big request.

That's exactly what I'm looking for basically. The AOSP layout looks great on the OP6T

Even the simplest of modifications can be a royal nightmare to implement my friend. I might poke around a bit when I get off work and see what I can come up, mainly out of curiosity lol. Don't hold your breath though so it's been ages since I worked on Android.

No worries, cheers. I know small stuff can cause lots of trouble, but from what I've seen, every single one of these cutout simulations are APKs with resources in them. Using OSS to replace their backgrounds to transparent ones would possibly work, but it's just a theory. I appreciate it
