I would like to know if hdmi setting for our Note 2 gives real possibility to use 5.1 or 7.1 surround audio.
That's what I tried. I was connecting it to my LCD TV Sharp LC46x20e using mhl adapter and hdmi cable. Sound was sent from optical output on the TV to my Logitech z5500 speakers.
The audio was pretty good, but unfortunately it wasn't Dolby or DTS (only Prologic surround from the speakers).
So either TV doesn't send correct 5.1 signal to the speakers or my video players (stock Samsung, MX Player and Dice Player) can't send 5.1 signal or Note 2 simply doesn't send 5.1
It would be very helpful for me if someone would be able to confirm any of those statements as I'm thinking of buying something like this to route the sound directly to the speakers without passing it through the TV and in effect achieve true 5.1 surround sound.
Have you tried Setting-->My device--> Accessories-> HDMI-Audio output--> Stereo/Surround option?
Is there a way to stream the sound from my fire tv stick to my android phone so I can connect headphones to my phone and hear the tv?
I want to listen on my Android Samsung Note 9 but want no sound on TV. Can Chromecast 2 do that?
even i wanna know the answer to that

Good luck on getting an answer. I wasted my time even posting the question.
Well, a Chromecast Audio device will NOT do that. If you want to cast audio only, with no video, then Chromecast Audio will work for you.

I want to be able to watch TV on chromcast without waking up the entire household.
OK, different device (Chromecast Audio is a no-longer-sold specific device that cast audio with no video). Your question would be more appropriate to the general Chromecast forum, but I think the answer will depend on what you are casting to. Does your TV have bluetooth? best option I can think of would be to use bluetooth headphones or a speaker linked to the TV.

It doesn't appear that you understand my question. Chromecast streams to my cell phone and I want to be able to watch on the cell phone with no sound but with the video so that I do not wake up the whole household or I would like to be able to watch chromecast on my TV but worth no sound so I don't wake up the whole household
Right, and a Chromecast Audio will not do that. It only lets you cast audio, not video.
What you need is a regular Chromecast on the TV, then cast your video to the TV, but you sound output from the TV needs to go someplace. My suggestion was to connect bluetooth headphones to the TV and listen through them. You could run an audio could run and audio out cable from the TV to headphones or a small speaker near you if the bluetooth doesn't work for you. Chromecast Audio will NOT solve your issue.
Can Chromecast Mute TV Audio While Allowing Audio on Cellphone? IS THIS POSSIB L E?
The problem is that with the HDMI cable (good quality UNITEK) connected from the HDMI Arc socket on the TCL 65C815 to the Harman Kardon AVR151, I try to play audio to the speakers from this receiver. And for a while everything works and you can hear the audio on the Harman speakers, but after several seconds or a minute or a few minutes (there is no rule) the HDMI Arc audio connection disconnects and you can hear them on the speakers in TCL TV.
This happens on various applications that run on TCL Netflix, Youtube, Spotify.
I checked HARMAN KARDON with the same cable on another TV and there is no problem there. The audio plays easily and does not run away.
I have version 395 on TCL
Same issue with a 55C71, and could not find a solution, so I change to a new 55C71 in warranty and problem solved.
