Am I Running the Latest CM11? [T217S] - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Galaxy Tab 7" - T217S
Android Version - 4.4.2
CM11 Version - 11-20140416-UNOFFICIAL-lt02ltespr
I am wondering if this is the latest version. I know development for this device
is awfully slow due to the lack of us talented individuals with the device(s). But,
surely there has been update since April, I just can't seem to search at all for it since
the forums are so jumbled.
Anyone know? Thanks a lot and THANKS to the developer, loved my tab since April thanks to you!

Compile it yourself to get the latest version of cm11, and wrong place

As I stated I'm not talented enough to compile it myself. Sorry if this is in the wrong section but its the only tab 7 subforum. I am totally in the love with the version of cm11 I have, everything functions. Just was wondering if I missed any updates in the mass amount of ROMs for the 3 different versions of the tab 7.

[DEV] Gingerbread (CM7) port Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hi friends.
I decided to start porting android Gingerbread (CM7) for
Samsung Galaxy Tab.
In this topic, I will write the latest news on the progress
development.
I'll be glad if somebody from the other developers
to join the porting.
I have a European version of Samsung Galaxy Tab (GT-P1000)
and especially would benefit from participation in the development of people
with the CDMA version.
**Donate Link Removed**
I'll be glad to
donations and if other programmers to join the development of the port
that donations will be distributed among all participants in the
development.
Status port
04/01/2011 - At this moment I working on preparing configuration for build and
later will begin porting samsung patches to .35 kernel.
I am willing to help out, I have the sprint tab which has no cwm yet though :x cm on the tab is the reason I bought it so let me know what I can do

You might want to get in contact with the gents working on the CyanogenMod port to the Galaxy S, considering the similarities between that and the Galaxy Tab.
super excited for this; really can't wait for a good rom to make this device shine. currently fully stock CDMA Sprint tab here and willing to test.

Its doesn't really matter, once you get a device and vendor set up with the correct hardware profile and proprietary files (pulled from the tab) you just need a working kernel and you're good to go.

I have a US Cellular Tab that I can test and bug report with.
i am working on this atm too, but i didnt want to open a thread because of everyone just shouting around "i can help u testing" and no productive answers!
i will be slower, because my tab has jmc with signed pbl and zimage so i cant flash zimages and need to borrow a friend ones from time to time! maybe we can help each other to get fully working GB soon!
Unimaginative
Yes, I'll use developments of Galaxy S CM7 port.

[Q] cleanrom on 10.1 device?

Did a search and didn't see anything that seemed overly relevant, so giving up and starting a thread
I got a 10.1 (SM-T520) earlier this week to serve as my personal travel computer (since my company is tightening up restrictions and monitoring on work laptops). I want to root it and get rid of all the crapware, but was busy hunting for an easy way to do that since I haven't done a root/custom ROM previously. I did find the list of bloatware apps to remove in another thread, but the ROM seemed like a faster/cleaner option, plus it would let me learn more.
I found the CleanRom option by scrosler, which seemed pretty ideal, was going to pair with a Nova Launcher. However in reading the thread it was noted here that 10.1 devices weren't supported. However this post seems to contradict that. Is there a definitive answer on whether it will work or not. I'll go try it if it's likely to work, just don't want to brick the thing.
Thanks in advance.
Shame there are no roms for the 10.1... I'm really keen to root my 10.1 and have a slimmed down Android experience.

Root and freeze/uninstall bloatware with Titanium Backup. Install Nova to replace TouchWiz. Tablet flies with stock ROM. Then patiently wait for custom ROMs, which will no doubt appear eventually.

I believe Scrosler has already advised CleanRom isnt supported for the 10.1
That being said, I would happily put money towards a rom bounty or similar to "persuade" him to support the 10.1

Given that 8.4 and 10.1 don't even share CPU architecture, I doubt any 8.4 ROM would be adapted to support 10.1 devices. XDA bunched together very different tablets into the same forum and everyone is confused as the result. I've got bunch of 'helpful' advices from 8.4 owners who dominate these forums.

I meant persuade him to develop a specific rom for the 10.1, not add 10.1 support in the 8.4 rom he's already developed.
If we can get a bounty together, he might consider it if he has time/inclination.
keep in mind qualcomm vs exynos

galaxy s5 G900F support?

Hi guys, I haven't really flashed PA since the early days on galaxy s2 and s3 ! But after seeing the latest preview on google+ I'm keen to have a play.
I haven't seen anything yet suggesting there is compatibility with my device or other varients, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if this device will become compatible in the near futute?
Kindest regards ?
Check your device forum for a port. There will never be official build for your device.

[Q] Lollipop ROM Timeframe

Hello,
I have a question on what is needed by developers to make Lollipop ROMs for our S3.
I have been following the releases and know that the images for the Nexus devices are up and that OTAs have begun. Is that what developers need as a starting point?
As you can tell I'm fairly clueless about this so I appreciate any information because I like to follow along.
Thanks!
Devs need the actual sources to build, which have been released. Unfortunately they can't work with the factory images for Nexus devices.
If I remember correctly, it took 2 or 3 months to get a usable KitKat build from Slim. (the first ones to do it, I recall.) We'd be lucky to see it by the new year, in my opinion.
Thank you for the info.
So they take the Nexus sources and then build it for our devices and then figure out how to add drivers for our hardware, etc?
Thank you for the timeline. I'm hoping it will be sooner, but your estimate is more realistic
I saw this in the S3 international forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/rom-namelessrom-t2939673
And
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/wip-cyanogenmod-12-t2936990
Looks like they are hard at work on lollipop for their devices. I wonder if anyone is working on it for ours yet?

Im wondering the same and if anybody has taken interest in building it for the d2lte variants like the att etc..
I haven't seen anything yet in the forums, but I'm still hopeful that someone will!

Yeah I been on the ROM since it was provided.

[Discussion] Is the LTE version (deb) abandonware?

As the owner of a Nexus 7 2013 LTE (deb), I can't help but feel as if nobody - especially not El Goog, actually give a frak about this device:
No Lollipop OTA yet
No Lollipop Factory Images
Hardly any roms
And not a single word from Google about the first two. Nada.
Now I've been using the one of two Lollipop roms actually available for the device, and I'm liking it, but I would have liked CM or Slimrom or any other custom variation (GROGG88's version is excellent, but I like to have variation to choose form - and now that we don't have xposed it's more important than ever).
I'd like to hear from you users and developers: Until Google step up their game (and even when they do), what do you think we can do to improve deb compatibility and rom variation?
Developers, is there any specific reason you develop for flo exclusively? (other than - I'm assuming - that it's the only device you've got?)
Bare in mind that this is an open discussion thread, I'm not blaming or requesting anything from anyone. Let's just talk about it.
I own a deb device. And agree that support is limited. I have grogg88's rom installed and must say it's one of the best available. I do also have cm installed. But wish there was more available. Hopefully Google will release the update soon
Of course it's not abandonware. Stupid question. Lollipop only came out 1 month ago and still has major problems on the devices running it.

This. With all the issues being reported on this forum alone, I have no desire to update to 5.0 or 5.0.1. I want all the new bells, whistles, and pretty colors, but 4.4.4 does everything I need and want.
I'm really hoping the GravityBox devs will find a way to get it to work with ART soonish.
