Dude, that phone has much bigger user base...and much bigger developer base. Currently we have Arco and some other guys helping him and that's pretty much it. Read some posts in cm9 thread in this section and it should be clear to you.

Friend , I look at the CM9 thread many times in a day to know the status. I think more developer should come up to port the Rom from different devices.

In case you don't know developers don't fall out of the sky nor show up when magically summoned. I think we are pretty lucky as there is already someone who is working on cm9 and has the knowledge to port it.
But if you don't think so, go ahead and start working on it yourself.

this is the very old sentence , I have been listening this since I joined XDA.
You got me wrong. I meant to say that we should appreciate new developers by sharing the knowledge of porting/building so we could have more developers.
As I can imagine there are many developers here (i had this idea by different posts in W), some of them are web developers and some of them are desktop developers.
So if we could just point them to right directions then they would be also the Android developers.
So instead of taunting we should share, spread and welcome new developers also.
@arco is doing his best. But let me know the person who doesn't want a lot of Roms for our galaxy w !!!
If you dont have open source development knowledge then look for Ubuntu. How they are working together to achieve the same goal in a team work. they always welcome new developers by sharing and appreciating knowledge.
i hope you understand my point.
Thanks

and my humble request is to please don't challenge anyone. there is nothing impossible in this world. Working in a right direction, and on right time with excellent knowledge, anyone can achieve impossible things.
what will happen to you if I challenge you for porting a single rom, What would be your feelings ?
99.5% peoples joins XDA to get some test of customized ROMS and for the resolutions of their problems. Then dont want anyone to challenge him.
Thanks

I think the reason of Galaxy W having few developers is the absence of it on USA and some other major countries. As far as I know, I didn't see Galaxy W on Samsung's USA and Australia websites...(and maybe Singapore?? I forgot)
When I first signed up at Mycolorscreen to submit a modified screen of my phone, I didn't see any Galaxy W so maybe that's a way to tell that Galaxy W isn't very popular worldwide.
Hello my Friends,
The time has really come to say Good Bye to all my Wonder Friends. I enjoyed and had a good time with all of you by learning/porting stuff.
I8150 is really a nice phone, but I needed to shift from this phone due to some reason.
Long story short, I spent half of my life in coding, leading teams of software engineers, managing enterprise level ERPs and architecting enterprise level application in all the latest and old languages/technologies. I took out some time and did some porting stuff, but my main target was to develop CM7 from sources.
I have most experience in Java/J2EE and less in C++. I tried to take help from different peoples but my bad luck no one guided me due to lack of time or just for no reason.
Not only from our forum I tried to contacted Exihibit II , Galaxy S Plus but I didn't get positive response, whatever the reason is but no one guide me. I searched myself and read a lot of material on net but not a single guide is perfect. There is no problem with Linux setup, I am use to of it.
I believe in Opensource and helping each other by spreading/sharing knowledge but in my case I couldn't search a person like this.
So I decided to switch (just not for CM7) to a device that have a lot of custom roms.
The porting I did is an asset for all of you. I want the guys should come up and take over the Roms from me. I hope you enjoyed my custom roms. If there is anyone who has some programming experience with smali/backsmali, apktool, understanding rom folders, hands on on merging /diff, ready to take risk of bricking then I will be happy to transfer my knowledge, but due to my tough schedule the person should be expert and self starter.
And finally I would like to special thank @arco, @andyroid, @irishpancake and All my Wonder community members.
Thank You All
i wish i had enough knowledge cuz i really wantd to learn from you but im just a noob at these stufff
but i hope u have a better experience with your new device

wow. wow. I was shocked for a while. what a sad news. how could it be? but thanks, so many thanks for your effort and big contribution in our little community, for porting good rom, for sharing knowledge and many help you did to us, thanks to make our wonder phone more attractive with the rom but yeah, sometime you must move to a larger box while you don't fit anymore in a small one. thanks again alidsd

Hi Ali dsd,
Please stick around as there's no one place or person to obtain this building -information in a reliable and complete form that we're looking for. I too got burnt similarly and still am in process of setting my own build environment based whatever that seemed to work for me from my captures from various blogs, forums and sites.
It's from open minded contributors like you that, when collectively packaged, would effective stuff come and came from. While I respectfully disagree this to be a reason for departure which is quite an expected risk with any open source stuff, I think your presence and continued contribution would benefit others looking to go along your route, though your participation might be less active than earlier.

Don't worry @andyroid, I am not going from XDA, I will be around , I will be checking W forums ( I haven't deleted it from my Fav ) time to time.
Amazingly my new device is not a high end device, Its just Nexus S. I think you will ask why ????
It will save my time . ... How ???? Mostly all types of Rom flavors are there, I just need to flash and use it, and the time I save from here can put on getting some certifications (like PMP, J2EE Architect and MCPD ). Its my decision and it doesn't mean that Nexus S is superior then Galaxy W.
Believe me or not but Galaxy W is an amazing device based on hardware it uses and the small size is very pocket friendly.

I am always here, i can be reached on PM or email.
I have already said that anyone who have some knowledge in porting can contact me , i will happily transfer my knowledge, because sharing knowledge is the major path to increase knowledge and community, but the person should have some experience.
I want someone to continue MIUIv4 and AOKP, or if someone come-up with their own porting version of any Rom then please ask Mod to delete my two threads.
I really appreciate all of your feelings.
Thanks,
AliDSD
Thanks for your great contribution ali, really appreciate it

HI alidsd, I understand you, cause I have your same motivation on developing. I studied information tecnology, so I have some knowledgies, but I'm new with android and I'm trying to do somenthing with my rom. I have your main target, build cm7 from source, but as u said there isn't a guide that really help in this, and for me is difficult to begin with it.
So now I have begininng to first port some mods to a gb rom, then to learn how to create a kernel and to port a complete rom. After these steps I like to begin cm7 from source, but I know is really hard.
I also have to say that it is demotivating to see there aren't much developers for our phone, that we haven't ICS from Samsung and at this time we haven't a complete ICS rom, while there is a new android version so probably i never work on cm7, too old...and for this, i was thinking it was better if I took a nexus s....however i can't change phone for now, so i continue to study and develop for my W...but in future the only phone i'll buy should be a nexus or a phone with more contribute from community...
Goodbye Ali and good luck with your new phone
Friend alidsd :crying:
I am so sad to see you are moving on....I know it will be for the better for you and your career!!!!!
Thank you for mentioning me in your OP, I really appreciate it.....
[I have been missing recently, due to that health issue....but things are OK, and will hopefully stay that way....God willing]
The old community loses another member with such skills, first qzem, KP, now you!!!! [apologies to any others left out, no offence!!]
All the best for the future, and do drop by whenever you get time, it was really good!!!!
Cheers man :good: :good:
yo alidsd,,
well i guess this is not a goodbye coz you're still gonna be around here:].,but still have to say thanks for all your great works by porting some wonderful ROMs..Wonder's forum still open for your advice anytime you have,,
happy porting buddy..
regards,
kidd
i was motivated by your words Alisd, i really was serious and dreamed to learn more about android, i wanted to try what bagux was doing but i ain't got enough time for it. i was amazed and never imagined that a person whose managing software engineers also tried tweaking our W XD i'm just a beginner software engineer about 6months old on work and specialized in VB and for some reasons i can say i also am at Cobol, i was still trying to learn now despite of the schedule i have and i am starting it on making android apps for now and maybe tweaking in the future. can i ask what company are you working?
UPDATE
UPDATE
I got rid of Nexus S and bought HTC Desire S. Most of you will be wondering Why ???, a lot of reasons. if anyone have interest to know then he can PM me.
I would suggest guys not to go for Nexus S now, its not a good time, it could be debatable but its my personal opinion. All of the Roms that are available for NS are also available for DS.
At last Galaxy W is a good phone, so please stick with it till you find a better phone according to your needs.
Because I have been part of this community so I thought that I should update my community.
Thanks,
I am glad to read opinions about me, you are all wonderful people.
@irishpancake, I am really concerned about your health , please take care, and update your health status so our community can pray for you. God bless on you.
I am happy to see that Alex (from Galaxy S+) has ported MIUIv4 successfully , and I hope he will also port AOKP and other CM9 based Roms from S+ to W.
Its great, I believe :

This will be the offical q&a thread for my CM10 rom, if you have any questions or would like to report a bug please do so here and not in the development thread, thanks!
The thread
I really like that you are doing this, wish I could help you more but just dont have the knowledge.
Are you planning on a straight cm10 ported to this phone or are you going to try and keep the s pen functionality?
Either way excited to see your progress.
Thanks for taking the time to make more options for this bad ass phone.
From what I understand the CM team is considering on working on the spen functionality, as far as I know it is dependent on touchwiz, even if they were to get it to work it would be nothing more than a regular stylus.
Theres some good stylus gesture apps around that will help with that though...im checking out your port tonight. .
Is this a direct port from the other version of galaxy note2..or did you use a stock att note 2 stock base and port this ? Just curious before I try to install this so I have an idea..does it include the att modem and a stock kernel within the rom?.. thank you
i didn't want to post in the dev thread, because i haven't done much dev . but i'm very interested in an aosp build for this device. i have my build environment setup and i can build, but i'm just adding random things now to see what sticks (from the international note2).
i can certainly lend myself or my build server out.
Will CM10 be 4.2 or 4.1.2?
My understanding is that basic stylus input works in the current CM10 for the n7100 and for most roms for the original note. Native support for stylus input was added in ICS.
Does anyone have an approximate date that CM10 might be available for the Note 2

As said before most users will all reply the same way. ..never ask for eta blah vlah blah.
To answer your question t there is kernel issues with the drivers for data and connection along those terms. From what I read we do have some developers compiling cm 10 from scratch for our devices. My guess we are a few weeks away b4 we see a daily use version. .Lots of errors but usable.

Haha i know better than to ask for an ETA on the developer section.
I was hoping someone might have an idea if it's in the works or not.
I got my note 2 and love it but miss cm10.lol
Hey guys! I am glad to say that I am making my return to android development! I've been spending a lot of time on my studies throughout the year and now it's time to jump right back into what i love doing the most. I know there must have been a lot that has happened since I left. More updates, patches, and such. I want to get back into the daily development for you guys but I need your help! Let me know what i've missed and what you would like to see in a ROM. Unfortunately I sold my Note 2 a while back to upgrade to the Note 3. While it is a better phone, I have not enjoyed developing for it because of the locked bootloader. That holds back a lot of potential and fun (lol). So I will need testers. I am a reputable developer with over 600 thanks. I have developed for the Note 2 before and got great feedback from this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419768
I also have much faster internet speeds now and can upload twice as fast as I used to. So this means more updates and releases! The only downside to my development is that I can't source build. I do not have linux anymore.
Please let me know suggestions for ROMs and who will be on board to help test and give me feedback.
Thanks!

On what wireless carrier are you using your Note 3?
I have already sent you a PM but figured it wouldn't hurt posting here either. I am wanting to test. I have done it once before and am not afraid of trying things on my phone. I consider myself techsavy.
Hello XDA developers,
I wanted to call upon developers to help develop firmware for the 900h, even samsung has seemed to have forgotten the H variant in its software updates. Kindly developers interested come up here and we can discuss the needs and help make a few firmwares for 900H.

Good question... XDA has been removing the thread posted for 900h developments for some reason...
A fren opened it twice and both times it was removed.
GUYS ! we must stop this BULL**** ! this device is really cool and beast we have a great device too but no updates no development process WE GOT NOTHING! its not our fault that some of us love exyons and others are obligated to by it due to their country providers...
Now we have cm12 at least
Im making a new thread
Install AbhiDroid rom s6 port for s5 900h. believed guys its really amazing rom.
The thing is there's only about like 4 roms out there for the samsung galaxy s5 g900h. And only 2 custom kernels I believe which is liquid smooth and kians kernel. That's it. Yes the s6 port ae nice I have that currently on my device however samsung is fast moving into releasing new devices I work for at&t and we already know ahead which devices are coming out and about more or less when they're going to be released. The s7 is already made and they're going to be releasing it in the early 2016 according to our boss and big at&t boss from state. They're not wasting time they're also releasing another note and another edge phone so I want to see atleast another 5 roms for this device before it gets abandoned. I mean I see tons of roms for every variant its like everyone is sca red to mess with g900h variant. I would like to see a way to get this device working on 4G or 4g lte instead of h+. If any developer wants to share how to create a rom and has a guide I am more than willing to use my device to create and make and test custom roms for everyone. I also would like to see other ports aside from the s6. Like the note 5 for example.
Also want full s6 port for g900h
