Moto 360 Bike Handlebar Mount - Moto 360

Found this while looking at the 3D printed covers. Looks pretty cool, but I don't cycle enough to justify the $30.
http://www.shapeways.com/model/2640622/smartermount-bike-mount-for-moto-360.html?materialId=6

Not trying to Troll ... i just honestly dont see the point... but its cool that accessories are coming out at least

Hey Digil
I glad you liked the product and I agree that $30 was a bit too much for the mount. Fortunately shapeways have changed their pricing structure and I have reduced my profit margin and as a result the mount is now priced at $19.50, a third less than before and much more in line with mounts for other smartwatches!
If there'sany other hardware accessories you think would be good for the moto 360 or other products let me know and I'll see if I can design them in the future

Need a quality windshield mount

Hey guys, im in the market for a windshield mount for my EVO, and most of the ones I have seen on amazon have pretty bad reviews. What are some good ones you guys can recommend that can also work in landscape mode, and only on the windshield. Preferably with a pretty long neck as my windshield is a bit far. I looked through a few pages but didnt see much. Thanks!
There is a Kensington iphone, I know..it works, that people were raving about here that I purchased. For the price it is very good and 1/3 cheaper then the official Evo dock sold at Sprint stores.. Do some legwork and look in this section for the thread.

Search for my thread called 'Low profile car mount' and you'll find a good one.
Sent from my EVIL EVO using the XDA app.
Arkon Mega Clip all the way (+ Pro Fit VSM mounts)
best way to go in my opinion is the Arkon Mega Clip
The guys there are incredibly helpful (Spoke w a sales guy called Mark who was great), products are great, and they also provide VSMs (vehicle specific mounts) if you dont want the clip/suction cup connection. VSMs look much more clean in the car in my opinion. Not crazy expensive either.
They source their VSM mounts from a company called Pro Fit. Check their website out as well to see all the mounts they have. My Mazda 3 2010 wasnt supported according to their site, but again, very helpful guy called Ryan (he's the guy who actually installs the clips and takes pictures for the installation instructions...amongst other things Im sure) told me that it actually was, they just hadn't had a chance to update their site yet.
Hope this info helps someone.

Indeed... The Kingston was originally created for the iPhone/iTouch but works just perfect for us EVO users. HERE is my thread where you can see several reviews, one in the first post and one in THIS post. The goosneck is super strong and doesn't move while driving and at the same time when you need to adjust it can be done so with a little effort. That's a good thing as the gooseneck should be very stiff. In fact, so far it's the best I've seen to date. If I had to choose an alternative it would most likely be the HTC's OEM vehicle mount. Kind of pricey but if nothing else works for you. The only drawback I see of the HTC mount is it doesn't have a gooseneck, instead it has a small stem. This doesn't work out to well if your windshield has a very deep slope to it as the mount would be sitting too far back and you would have to squint to see your route or terrain on your map.
AMAZON has it selling for $11.99 right now. I haven't seen a better deal on anything else pertaining to a car mount that is low profile for the EVO.
i have been using a rocketfish GPS mount i got at best buy it has acctually been working really well. It fits the evo with any case has nice rubber grips ont he sides where it clamps and has to little feet that turn out to hold the "bottom" yuo can use in landscape or portrait and so far the suction cup has help on very well for me. the phone hasnt budged even going over train tracks and pot holes.
cost like 20$ they have them over by the GPS units

I am a big fan of these mounting/holder solutions. A little expensive but it is a brainless and clean installation that I have used for many years with various phones. Here is the response I got back from them regarding a Xoom holder:[FONT=&quot]

Thank you for your continued interest in our products. We do anticipate making a Holder for the Xoom tablet, however due to the large number of new products we are developing, we cannot give a specific date as to when this will be available. You will be notified by e-mail as soon as the Holder has been received at our warehouse and is ready for online ordering.

Not sure but when the Captivate first came out, it took nearly two months before the holder was available.
Seems like they could modify the bracket for the iPad and make it a 'universal' adjustable tablet mount.
More variety and less models so less outlay on different types.
But what do I know...I'm just a consumer!
I ordered the Ram Mount and now its saying its out of stock with no date as to when

they do this to an extent, but the deal with proclip/brodit is that they make a really high quality product that is tailored specifically for your device. part of why they are so good; its hard to explain how perfect my galaxy s mount from them is. I've often wondered how they make money (other than the price) given how much manpower they must expend just to make a bracket that works perfectly for each car and device. They said the same thing as the OP got about my phone and it took about 2 months for it to come to fruition, willing to wait if that is indeed the case.

Headrest Mounts - Grip Daddy or other?

I decided that I'd go ahead and get a tablet so I went with this device. I primarily got this so my daughter could watch movies on car trips and my wife can dub around the net at home. Most all the mounting discussion seems to be front-seat mounts but I'm looking to mount for the back seat, prefereable on a driver's side headrest. I was looking at the Grip Daddy (http://gripdaddymounts.com/) mounts, and debating between the two they offer but I havne't been able to find too much about them.
I was wondering if anyone had any feedback or experience with them, or alternatives they'd prefer? I'm looking for rear-headrest mounting and would prefer the ability to position it near the middlle, but directly behind the driver's headrest is also fine. ('08 Dodge Caravan)
Thanks for any suggestions, or even tips in general about mounting this thing.
Wouldn't something like this work as well for a fraction?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320731033899?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Thanks for the response, I didn't articulate that clearly enough, but that's the reason I'm asking. I see a lot of mounts that are around that price, but I didn't know if there was something about the Grip Daddy and it's $60 price tag that actually made it worth it, or if the inexpensive non OEM ebay/amazon items are as good as OEM. (That's what I usually buy for my cell phones)
I haven't seen any discussion about headrest mounts at all so I was just kind of throwing it out there in case there was someone else who had experience with this type of mount. I'll just end up getting the cheap one and posting something about it.
The Grip Daddy defenitivly looks more robust, but is it worth it?
I don't know if the eBay / Chineese stuff is sturdy or loose, but usually it's "decent enough". And for the price, well, even if it's a worthless peace of junk, it's 10$ so you will still be able to put food on the table!
I will most likely buy one in the next month or so, I'll let you know if you didn't got one by then!
NOTE: The Grip Daddy is installed on the "upper" part of the headrest, that might be a problem if it's used by kids (mostly)
Well, my daughter is young so she wont be interacting with it unsupervised. We're basically only going to use it as a television for longer car trips so with her strapped in her car seat, this will be just the right distance away.
I went ahead and ordered this one. I didn't want to buy from overseas, as well as wait for the overseas shipping.

I'll post back, with some pix about how it goes.

So I got this in today and I set it up. I can't say I'm too impressed. It's probably fine, unless you hit a bump. It's flimsy and cheap. I initially mounted it with the support holding the tablet upward, but that was way too flimsy. I opted to mount it going down rather than up and I figure if I can put some sort of support behind it to make it secure, but overall it will get the job done.
If you're looking for a headrest mount and plan on using it relatively regularly, I'd spend a little extra for a more rugged mount.
I'm in my third cheap headrest mount. They all broke on the same spot, the pivot joint, different brands bought on amazon and eBay...enough. the grip daddy seems interesting and cheaper than the pad holder...can't decide yet.
Oh yeah, what broke them was my 7 year old daughter

I totally agree with you.
Mine has not broken in over a year of operation, but it makes noise. it is always creaking if it is holding a tablet. I am looking from something more robust as well and had not seen that one that you found. There was another brand out there that looked promising for a $30 price range, but I cannot think of the name right now. (Arkon? http://www.arkon.com/tablet-accessories/universal-tablet-headrest-mount.html).
Anywho, If anyone tries out the Gripdaddy, I would love to know how it works. That creaking is driving me insane!!!
I ended up buying the proclip mount. No ball joints, it's aespherical joint hold together by a screw. Can't easily break this. Expensive, but versatile, since i already have a coupke of device holders.
Proclipusa.com
do you already have it, or are you waiting for it?

I'm waiting for it. After i got just the headrest support bits, I ordered the 10.1 holders from the main page, they're suppose to be compatible with any device holder they sell.

Okay, got it, installed one, going to install the other later today.
BEST HEADREST MOUNT EVER. Solid as a rock, at least as solid as your seat/headrest poles. It can stay as close to the back of the seat/headrest as you want, so if any removable case [edit: holder] could be slick, this is it. The other ones I bought on ebay/Amazon (4 in total, all broken by kids/3rd row seat reclining) were big, and they would leave the tablet in the way (say when the kids need to go through one door only). Not this one.
As a bonus, since I bought the slide mounts (male/female) so that the tablet mount is removable, it can leave virtually no trace there's a mount there, quick and easy in/out.
Very expensive for what it is, but you're not paying for the material, but for the engineering. At least that's what I told myself after forking close to $250.00 for it...grr.
Thanks for the follow up,but $250 is not worth it to me. We don't spend enough time in the car at this point to justify me spending that much money on a mount.
If you're happy with it, that's what counts.
anyone else find any lower priced successful options?
Go with Gripdaddy
Although Gripdaddy is a bit more pricey ($60 instead of $10), yes, there is a reason. Unlike the other cheaper models, Gripdaddy does not just break. I've had mine for several months, and it has yet to fail me. It's not made out of cheap plastic - it LASTS! I don't see the shaking either. Instead of spending tons of money replacing the cheap, plastic headrest mounts - I suggest buying the Gripdaddy once and not worrying about future problems.

iOttie Easy Flex Wireless Qi Car Mount

Looks like iOttie is taking reservations for their Qi car mount. Spoiler alert: It's $80.
http://www.iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1058&ProductType=321
I was hoping for a $40-50 price point. So, yeah, I'm a little disappointed.
Yeah $80 is way too high especially when you can get more "Premium" Chinese Qi Car docks for about $45. I figured the price was going to be more than we requested when the "Rep" that had the iOttie post suddenly went silent. $50 was just the high end of Purchasable range. $80 is high even if there were NO other options on the market. Heck the OwlPad sold for LESS than that much when it came out...over a year ago. So yeah makes me feel the company is trying to fleece the N5 owners.
Hey guys,
We did not go quiet on the postings - we were just advised from XDA moderators that that kind of posting is not permitted within the forums.
We do appreciate the constructive feedback with regards to our product & pricing. We will pass that information onto our management team for more detailed review.
I would buy it for around $40-50 but definitely not at $80.
80? This is why I've refused to buy the tylt vu. I have zero problem shelling out cash for accessories but that's ridiculous.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
80? Probably cost 15 to make at those quantities. I'll pass, thanks.
the air dock is better than this, and it costs less at $69, but even that's still way too expensive for this kind of thing. $80 is just ridiculous.

Also, the price you guys see is MSRP - but the MAP price that it will be sold at on Amazon and other resellers is $69.95.

yeah the retail price isn't what it'll be on amazon. Funny I wrote in to them when I first got my nexus 5 asking if they were making one. Glad to see they did.
I'm curious on final price. Been using their mounts for awhile and find it pretty good.
I do have 2 of the indiegogo airdocks coming though. Which in the end is a better solution if it works.
Looks nice to me, I'd be all over it.

The contest says it ends the 47th of April? I tried to enter but apparently it's closed already.
Curious, I see that people are upset at spending $80 for a modern and functional mount that also wirelessly charges your phone. I think it looks awesome and I would totally buy it, but I'm curious, what other alternatives exist?

Other than the Air Dock which was a Kickstarter but now goes for $69 now and the OwlPad which has been out for OVER a year which sells for $57. There are others on Amazon and Aliexpress from $35-50 depending on quality. $80 for a plain old QI charger is just over priced. For $69 at least the Airdock has the Magnets for the N5 included in the design.
One thing to consider with a wireless charger dock for the car is how much flexibility in positioning it offers, cause most of the time, you'll probably need to put it where it can get some direct air conditioning. This Easy Flex Wireless, if it's like the Easy Flex 3, can be rotated 360° and put the phone hanging in front of the vents of my car.
Does anyone know if this will work with case on. I would get it but I wanna know if can have a case on my nexus and it will still work. If you know the answer please let me know. Thanks

It does, like any other Qi charger. IIRC Qi can do something like half an inch distance. In any case, it should be fine for any cases that are not battery cases or metal ones.
Not bad, but bouncy....
I pre-prdered this dock using the Facebook coupon, and it arrived over the weekend. I tried it out in the hopes that it would not exhibit the bounciness that the other wireless charging dock I ordered had.
I used my phone, both with and without it's TPU case (my phone is an LG G2) in this dock and on all but the smoothest of roads (I live in Michigan, so "smooth road" is almost an oxymoron) the bounce is very noticeable. There is just too much flex in the arm of the dock.
I have written to them via their facebook page in hopes that I receive a reply and hopefully a solution.
The pricing is now $69.95 on amazon

Battery Case - Too good to be true?

I pre-ordered a battery case on Amazon, but it just seems too good to be true. I cannot see how they can fit a battery that size into that case for that price.
https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-External-Portable-Protective-Charging/dp/B06Y63HPCL
5200mAh
$26.99
Very slim and slick looking
Any thoughts? Should I cancel the pre-order or is Amazon reliable when in helping to avoid fraud?
I just saw this, it's not that expensive, please post IF you get it with pictures as to how thick, hand feel, and so on. I'd be very interested in it if it's not going to make my device look like a brick from the 90s.
There's about 5 pages of questions now and there's a LOT of discrepancy between what the "description" states and what the answers from the seller state:
Description: has a kickstand
Seller answer: has not kickstand
Seller keeps saying you can wirelessly charge with this case in the questions, I WANT to know how that will work. I may order this JUST to see if any of the hype is true
It looks monstrously big for the s8 plus
Update: They increased the price from $26.99 to $39.99. That sounds more realistic now. Also the picture is different and it looks a bit more clunky than the original images. Once I get it I will post pictures of it and give a review.
No way that's 5500 is such a slim case, this case is 5500mah look at that fatty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZXYRCKM/ref=psdc_7073960011_t1_B06Y63HPCL
Okay, holy mother of crap, that thing is huge.
I just could never do a case that big...not with phones this size. Holy crap i can't imagine that in my pocket.

It may not be the slickest case but if it does add 5000mAh then it can be a backup plan for a weekend outdoors. There are times when having a battrey pack makes it much more clunky than a battery case, no matter how bigger it makes the phone.

So, let's see what could possibly go wrong:
Third-party company that no one has ever heard of making a battery case that doesn't even agree with its own pictures of the product/product description
Will it overheat? No, why would you think that?
Will it make your phone burst into flames? Why would that be an issue?
Will it actually work as stated? Sure, so many of the cheap knockoff battery cases work just great.
Please do post how this works out for you. Also, make sure you have a spare device from which to call 911 (or 999 depending on your location)
Best power case would be zerolemon when it comes out
Just ordered this one from Amazon. It's in stock and I will get it monday and let you know how it is.

I guess there's one manufacturer that makes all of these cheap power cases for any brand. The price is great but I wouldn't risk an S8+ for a 50$ price difference. And everything above 3000 mAh will add too much bulk. Don't bother and think that it won't look like a brick. I was prepared to order the Mophie but got insulted by their bad marketing moves. Articles all over the web about the release of the legendarry Juice Pack, and all I got was a coming soon warning! No Thanks. As djhulk2 said I would go with the ZeroLemon or the I-blades. Remember these are brands, plus the I-blades adds extra memory, a platform for other modules and Military Grade Certificate.

There are numerous choices out there (just from a google search using the terms S8+ battery cases):
https://powerpluscases.com/collecti...-galaxy-s8-plus-battery-extender-case-5500mah
https://i-blades.com/products/galaxy-s8-plus-case-battery-life-memory
https://www.amazon.com/ICONIC-Portable-External-Protective-Charging/dp/B06ZZB2QYC (has a code of 2RADT4V8 for $10 off making the price about $30, know NOTHING about this battery, BGR is hyping it)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZB2QYC/ (another case with a code HC7VJ26M for more of a discount, again another site is promoting this)
https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-External-Portable-Protective-Kickstand/dp/B06Y63HPCL/ref=sr_1_5 (no idea about this)
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...+battery+case&rh=i:aps,k:s8+plus+battery+case (a generic search for s8 Plus battery case on amazon)
And that was about 10 minutes worth of looking. There are PLENTY of options out there, just got to be willing to look.
