From what I read that was a first run "limited" edition. Only way would be to see if someone will part ways with theirs.

Any info about that?
I really liked the original gray band but when Moto 360 started selling in my country, they had already replaced the gray brand with that ugly stone band.

They announced a black, brown and gray too. Finally color choices for a popular phone.
Also, I think you can get a warranty replacement from AT&T, just tell them it doesn't click correctly in place anymore.

3rd party metal bands

Gadgetwhore has a post on 3rd party metal bands. I see the warning from Moto about possible interference with radios, but I'm still very tempted... especially when one is only $12 from Amazon. What do you guys think?

Meh. I say just get a band that you like and put it on. Maybe we should get people to post pictures of their M360 with their aftermarket metal band along with a purchase link and any special information so people could get one if they like it? But only bands that are actually confirmed as compatible and being used by the poster. Not to hijack or anything.

That looks sweet! So I take it that band was purchased at the jewelry store, do you mind if I ask how much it was for the band and installation?

You're joking, right . Your band looks great, but that's a lot, especially considering the finish of your band. It looks like it will scratch up like crazy.

Yes, of that I am quite aware. Anyone who buys that ugly band...I deeply pity them - it looks like trash compared to their original (beautiful) render. They didn't even get the right dimensions when they created the connecting point. Have you seen the Engadget pics of it? It sticks out so far from the watch as if it's some cheap attachment. Paying $80 for that garbage?

The really interesting thing about that photo is it shows the official band doesn't just clip in, it has some sort of plastic adapter. The iFixit review thought that the outer steel casing was grounded to the internals. Motorola claimed metal bands can cause interference. If that's the case, maybe this plastic adapter is to ensure the metal band never touches the metal case, since the case may be the antenna?

This could very well be true or just a fabrication so that people only buy their metal band. Just look at all the bands everyone is trying/discussing and successfully using. Moto knew this might happen, but probably didn't expect it to this degree. So I guess, the only story for them to get any sales at all would be to say something like this plastic adapter only comes with and fits our metal band. So if you don't want interference, you can only buy our band, until some company makes a plastic piece themselves and charges 3-5 dollars for it. Then, their argument is completely shot, lol.

I like that stock metal band, it looks very nice. I think the reason it looks nicer than any aftermarket one is that it's oversized, you can see that the band is wider than the slot it fits into. I'd guess it's at least 24mm and also it doesn't taper.. It's such a huge watch it needs a very wide strap otherwise it looks cheesy.
I can see the attachment point looking odd if you have thin wrists, as the person in your pictures does. Then when it exits out it makes a sharp 90 degree turn down and looks like it doesn't belong, a curved adapter like many watchband have would have solved this. I'll bet it looks good with a thicker wrist though.
Here is a pic of the moto band unattached, I don't think its a plastic adapter at all. It looks like the attachment points are simply tapered down arms.
I got a relic band, it's stainless steel and I have had it on for about a day and no issues with any signal or anything
So the are not offering the band they originally showed with the watch? That was a huge buying decision for me

Hey guys,
we in Germany must wait till 10/09 to buy the moto360.
I am searching right now for a metal band. Before I buy one should i know how the surface is. Is it glossy or mat?
I am deciding between these two:
Glossy:

The finish of the Moto360 is pretty reflective/glossy but not too glossy. Here are two completely different watch bands with the black.

Grey vs. Stone Grey

The product image looks a bit different. The grey over at Motorola looks lighter than the product image on Best Buy or the Play Store for grey.
Also, Best Buy and Play Store show a color option as just "Grey". But Motorola lists it as "Stone Grey".
Are there 3 (Black, Stone Grey, and Grey) different leather band options or just 2? Or is it Best Buy and Google Play being lazy to add the world "Stone"?

supposedly Stone Grey was a limited edition.. not sure also if that means its a 3rd strap or they just meant the grey strap in general and didnt add "stone"

i called moto and they said they were the same...because i made two orders from them, one was grey, and the other stone grey...i'm pretty sure he just made up an answer though. Anything to get you off the phone faster.
I thought Best Buy had an exclusive on the gray band. Was that just temporary or am I mistaken?

Stone Gray popped up on BestBuy.com today. So now they have 3 listed.
There are two greys. The stone grey one is actually a bit purple!
I am not sure which one is meant to be limited edition or if simply they ran out of one grey and sourced a different strap as a temporary measure!!

On launch, when I ordered directly with moto, the site said the Gray is a launch day color only and the color will change later to the "stone" gray. But that may have changed since launch.
I got lucky and found a returned original dark gray at my local Best Buy this afternoon. It was marked down to $217.99 and with my Post Office 10% coupon, it was $191.88 plus tax.

New 'stone' leather bands are shipping from Motorola

There's been some discussion about this buried in other threads, but today I received my Moto 360 which I'd ordered from Motorola.com on 9/16, and I can confirm that the band is the third, newer color, which Motorola had said would take the place of the gray leather.
I'd previously seen both a gray and a black strap on the Best Buy display units, so off the bat visually I can tell this is the new color. Additionally, and interestingly, the underside of the packaging has a [hastily torn off the thermal printer] sticker, which is laid OVER another sticker underneath, and it's quite clear the original sticker said "GREY LEATHER" and the new sticker says "STONE LEATHER".
I'd describe the color of the band as kind of a purplish gray actually. I definitely prefer the original gray if I had a choice, but this'll do until it gets replaced.

Does it have a suede finish like the grey band does? I didnt realize that Moto was selling the 'new' color; I actually like the grey band better.

Not suede, its a fairly smooth grain on top. The inside has a very slight softness, like suede, to it. I felt like the gray band felt softer to me, but could be because it was handled to death at best buy... It was very worn in.

Yes, the grey band is soft & has a suede finish to it. Since I returned my grey moto 360 to BB due to it malfunctioning, I ordered a 'replacement' from Moto on 9/16 but thought I was ordering the same band. Sucks. Time to see if I can find one to buy.
Fossil has a couple of great looking 22mm leather bands for under $25 with free return shipping if it doesn't fit or you don't like it, so I'll probably get a sturdier band anyway.

Could you please confirm me that the the Model ID for the Stone Leather Moto360 is 00583NARTL? It's written on the sticker you mention, on the back of the box.
The question is due because on my local forum no one would believe me that there are three variants of Moto360 currently being sold. None of the Youtube reviewers seem to be aware of this as well. But the funniest stuff is that when on Motorola's site you select the Stone leather Moto360 you get the wrong picture of the watch (with a dark gray band). Three days ago I contacted Motorola's help chat to mention this and to suggest they change the image back to the one they used a week ago, but the guy at the help desk (named Aaron) didn't know which watch Motorola was selling and told me "we will verify the site". Three days have pased, the wrong picture is still there...
Anyways, for those of you who want to see the difference between the three straps, please find below the images with all three Moto360's available today.

Same here. I really dislike the new stone grey band and changed it out the second I got my watch. It's a good thing that we can change out the bands.
Anyone interested in buying or trading a stone grey band for dark grey band, PM me.
I have the original gray band that I am willing to part with. Tell me what it's worth to you-I have no clue.

Would love to get an original gray leather band too... Was always sold out when I tried. Had to get Stone.
I am also dissapointed, that I will not be able to get dark grey variant. Good thing that the band is replaceable, so now its about to find some similar on the internet. Please post your tips.
I found one on techswiss website, but unfortunately can't post links there yet.. (watch-band-dark-grey-genuine-leather-alligator-grain)
I'm also trying to buy or trade for the original dark grey leather band. I had the dark grey originally, but my Moto 360 started acting up so I exchanged it, and unfortunately was sent the new stone leather band. I personally preferred the dark grey leather band over the new light stone grey one. Please PM me if you have the dark grey leather that you're willing to sell.
Also interested in trading the stone gray band for either the dark gray or black band. Please PM me for details if interested.
I had a dark gray for two days, but had an issue with the watch and had to return it. i prefer the suede texture over the leather even though the stone leather color is not that bad.
If anyone is willing to sell be their band I'm interested.
On another note, how has the suede band worn over time? does it still look ok, for example the edges?
I have a dark gray band that I'm not using, but I don't think I want to part with it. Could help me when I go to sell the watch.
