UI sound missing - T-Mobile LG G3

This is very strange. When I first started playing with the phone I noticed the remove app ui sound. I rooted with purpledrake and made a few changes but seeing no real benefit to rooting besides UI changes I decided to go back to stock with the TOT method. The method seemed to fail because I was sent to the miniOS without the large 1 2 3 referred to in the walk though. I was able to reboot and everything seemed fine but I noticed that particular ui sound was gone. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue, with my ui sound for removing apps from my home screen going silent. (It sounded a bit like the old recycle bin trash sound.) I noticed it stopped working after I tried and uninstalled a few live wallpapers, one of which had rain sounds. I have a feeling that knocked out my ui sound. I did a factory reset and the trash sound returned for a time, but once I resumed trying new tweaks and personalizations, it went silent again. Any ideas?

Notification Sounds gone Awry

I just got my SGSII E4GT a few days ago, trading up from my SGS Vibrant. In 4 days, I've almost recreated all of the customizations that I spent 15 months modding into my Vibrant. There are just a few things that seem quirky to me about the E4GT.
Most disconcerting is the notification sounds. I selected "Cloud" initially, but every time I got an e-mail it would play this grating Tinkerbell sounding noise. I checked the settings and it was still set to Cloud, but when I moved the selection to see if I could ascertain which of the other options was playing erroneously, none of the sounds would preview for me. I ended up turning GMail notification sounds off.
I forgot about this issue after I Rooted and changed to CWM 5 Recovery. I waited a day before flashing Calkulin's 2.0.1a (which FLIES!! I luvs it), and in that time I had a ton of apps force closing on me. Bigger fish to fry. Flashing the custom ROM stopped all the force closing and smoothed everything out tremendously.
Only my odd notification sound issue still persists. I still have the settings on "Cloud," but all notifications play that stupid tinkling noise and the menu to change the setting will let me select other options, but they still won't play the sound as a preview for me.
Also, my alarm played a different ringtone than the one I had it set on this morning (first time I've used Alarm since switching phones).
Has anyone else encountered this? Any thoughts on possible causes/solutions?

randomly losing system sound after the latest Tmo update..

I got this problem after applying the Tmo update. The system sound (the water ripple sound on lock screen, sound when restart/reboot) randomly goes muted. There is a slash across the system icon in settings/volume. There is no way I can turn that on again unless I restart the phone (set all the way up doesnt help since there is a slash indicating that it's muted). And this happened to me 3 times now. After restarting, the slash disappears and the system volume goes to Zero. Pretty sure the update causes this since I didnt have this problem before the update. anyone has the same issue?
P/S: all other sounds work fine, just the system sound messes up and now it works again...randomly.. gosh what happened to my phone (
Im suspecting the app "hide it pro" causes some kinda conflict since it also has the function as audio manager... not really sure...

[q] xperia s - new problem everyday

I am starting to hate this phone more and more everyday. It works different every time, sometimes it works great, sometimes it's bad.
Currently, i am having a problem that started appearing few days ago. So, i'm listening to music, and i notice the quality of the songs have gotten worse. I go over to settings, in walkman, and click on Sound enhancements, and this is what pops up: Sound effects currently not available
I am like, okaaaay, ill try another music player (poweramp).. the equalizer settings just disappeared from the options restarted my phone, and everything is okay again. So later that day, i plug in my headphones again, and i notice the quality is bad again, so i check the equalizer, "sound effects currently not available" what the hell, again? and everyday is like that. i restart my phone two times each day for the equalizer. why has this started happening? my phone is really smooth, no junk in it, not a lot of installed apps, everything works fine. and it can't be a jelly bean bug, because this started happening few days ago.
i swear, i am so trying to not mess with my phone, took a really good care of it from day one, i always do the clean up, never did i drop it once on the ground, so it's in the best stage, and the problems just keep appearing by itself...
anyone have this problem?
That's where problem starts, you didn't messed up with your phone .Just try a few roms out there or flash stock rom with flashtool & you'll start to love ur phone again
Sent from my LT26ii using xda premium
I think u should flash the original firmware with flashtool

[Q] Phone freezing when trying to play audio

For about a day now my m8 has been having some strange audio issues, and since I haven't found any other discussions surrounding it, I thought I'd drop in here as a last hope.
Essentially, almost any audio that plays from the internal speakers freezes the phone and forces me to soft reset it. Any games/music/videos locks it up, but notification/ringtones play without issue. When I try to play music, the boomsound icon appears in the notification bar, and I can change the volume for about a second before the phone freezes, though no music actually plays.
It seems to have started after I downloaded Sherlock: The Network(which I have since uninstalled), but that may be coincidental. I have a Verizon m8, rooted with S-OFF but stock ROM. I'm backing up things right now in preparation of a factory reset to hopefully resolve the issue, but if anyone has any solutions or suggestions, I'd be more than happy to hear them - can provide more info if needed.
Another edit since I'm now remembering info I was going to originally add: I did an audio test via HTC's Diagnostic Tool - which was hard enough to reach because touch tones would freeze it all up - and could not hear any of the sounds it was apparently making.
Use Titanium to freeze the suspected app, and see if the issue persists.

I should have noted in the OP (in fact, I'll edit it in now) that I uninstalled said app as soon as the issues began. I've also checked through the running processes in hopes of finding some sound driver that wasn't responding, to no avail.
This started happening to me after installing/uninstalling Hungry Shark. Did you end up doing a factory rest? 3-4 resets a day are quite annoying...

Yup, in the end I had to do a factory reset and didn't reinstall the app (though I'm not sure that was entirely the source of the issue). I've had no problems with the audio since, but I know how aggravating it is to deal with.

Ring, Notification, & Alarm sounds are silent/don't work (but Media & Call sounds DO work)

Hi all,
Hoping someone brighter than me can figure this sound issue out.
THE PROBLEM:
Half of my sounds don't work, rendering my phone useless in the current state. As the title says, Ring, Notification, & Alarm sounds do not work. You know, as in the important stuff that makes your phone, a phone? And makes you wake up in the morning? None of these respective sliders under Sound & Vibration settings make any noise when making adjustments. By contrast, my Media and Call volume sliders DO make noise when adjusting. And sure enough, once on a phone call, I hear things just fine (Call). And YouTube, Spotify, et al. (Media) also work just fine.
Because some sounds work but others don't, this has to be a software issue, right? This would be easy if it was hardware and 0% of sounds worked, but nope, it's partial.
BACKGROUND:
This pixel 3 xl is relatively new to me, but has ran A10 and A11 with a few different ROMs with 100% of sound working flawlessly. But out of nowhere, sounds suddenly stopped working correctly as described above. And it didn't occur immediately or shortly after a new rom flash or update or anything like that. Just stopped working, months into a well-running ROM.
I've tried a couple different ROMs now to fix the issue from a completely clean install (/format data + flash latest google factory image as 1st step) but none have fixed the issue. Specifically, pixeldust (A11) and evolutionX (A11) were my latest troubleshooting attempts with no avail. Pixeldust was the ROM that was formerly working and then after months of 100% sounds working, suddenly stopped.
It's odd that searching throughout the ROM threads that no one else seems to be having this issue. Again, this would be easy if it was a hardware failure. But that doesn't explain how it works for Youtube/Spotify but not for other things, so it has to be software.... I think?
I figured I'd start a thread here rather than start posting in each and every ROM I've tried to troubleshoot this. Thank you!
This might not be relevant because I'm using stock Android on a Pixel 4a but my notifications have gone silent and this report was the only similar search result I found. I tried changing the notification tone and none of them played a short snippet so I'm wondering if the problem is there.
I have not found a solution for this issue.
One thing I noticed recently is that when I'm on a call using the regular "earpiece" or whatever it's called (which works fine), if I switch to speaker phone, I can't hear anything. I have to switch back to the non-speaker ear mode and I can hear the call again.

I think I may have finally found the solution!! Sometimes it's the simple things in life that work, rather than reflashing a billion different ways that finally gets things working again.
In this case, I simply cleared the cache and storage for the 'Sounds' apps under Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all apps -> Click 3 dots in upper right corner -> Show system. Then, I deleted cache and storage for TWO apps, both called 'Sounds' with 2 different icons. I'm not sure which is the system app and which is not nor do I know if clearing only one of them was necessary, but this is what has worked for me and has survived several restarts thus far. Good luck!
