Guys Is There An App Which Can Modify/Add More Functions To Back "Hardware" Button!!
What I Want to Do Is That:
* "Single Tap" -Back-
* "Double Tap" -Multitasking Bar-
* "Long Press" -Home-
Single Tap & Long Press Already Works, I Just Want To Add "Double Tap" Function. Is It Possible??
Just Like In iOS There Is An App "Activator". There Should be Some Way To Do It!!
Thanks

Do you hate the physical home button like I do?
Do you wish you could use the capacitive menu key instead of home, and assign much rarely used menu key to the physical button?
Just flash the attached file in Recovery.
The second file is for returning to the original setup if you wish.
awesome gonna try this

I especially like how the physical button still wakes the device. so I can hit it to wake the device, then double tap menu for svoice
i wonder if there is a way to make the "back" button long press = context menu. then can avoid the physical button all together
Hey I tried it on my vzw gs3 and it didn't work. :O

This is for the international Galaxy S3. For the USA versions, there is a separate forum on XDA since most things aren't compatible.

I think context menu might slow things down. But I understand where you're coming from, we have 5 options for 2 capacitive buttons so 1 option will have to be assigned to the physical button. I guess it depends on individuals on which button is the least used. For me is the Search button. Maybe a proposal like this :
Capacitive Menu Button
Short Press : Home
Long Press : Menu
Physical Home Button
Short Press : Home and Wake
Long Press : Search
Capacitive Back Button
Short Press : Back
Long Press : Recent

Yes! Both keys are completely switched with all functionality, except that the physical button will still wake the device.
To other suggestions about more functionality, unfortunately I can only switch keys, I can't change the long press functions and such.
Great. Thanks
Does this work with cm9 or only sammy roms?
Works flawlessly with my device. Thank you OP.:good:
Awesome!

Hopefully one day it can be done like the HTC ONE X!
thanks, it works. but now my menu button does not vibrate anymore. it vibrates only in long press....
Installed it, running perfect!
This is how Samsung should do it.
Thanks a lot!!
Edit:
Short press menu button open menu
long predd menu button open taskmanager would be perfect!

I hate the home button but I hate more the lack of recents button.
Is there any way to swap the menu button functionality with that of "show recents"?

After updating my unlocked HTC 10 to Android 7, I noticed "menu button" option in display settings. There is a check mark, but I don't know what it does.
I'd guess it's giving you the option of having the new one on screen, or continue using the capacitive button. Just a guess tho
Can I ask what build No you have?

You mean the three line hamburger menu button? It's just an addition to get to most used setting options quickly. It's not only in display, it's on other settings menus as well
I don't really see any changes when I toggle "menu option" in the display settings.

I selected that and didn't see any difference until I opened JetAudioPlus. There was a menu icon on the right bottom corner of the app.I think some apps make it visible,to make the menu easy to reach.Bu when I click it it still opens the menu on the upper right corner.I think the option is there because someone may need it in some apps.I don't need it.So I disabled it.
Is there some way I can use the right "recent apps" button as a real menu button??
I already tried Button mapper app by Flar and it doesn't have that function.
Did they get rid of the option to long press the recent apps button for menu? If so, that's lame...

Yes they did. Somebody who has a twitter account should write to Mo Versi or Graham Wheeler so that they are aware of this issue!

Yes there is.. I've got a thread in the guides section. Find it and it'll show you the location of the file to edit. Can't remember off the top of my head.
Hi,
Is there any way that you can remove the recent apps button from the status bar and replace it with the menu button? It's b/c i miss the menu button on my s3... and long pressing on menu brings up recents but recents is just vice versa. I have root so if that has to come into play I'm in :crying:

Mhmm, but the thing is I cannot drag out the recents button and replace it with the menu key in the home touch buttons section and I'm looking for an alternate way to do it, also an idea is to put a skin over it, but I don't know how.

Single tap not customizable?
Also "double tap" & "double tap + hold" not working since it always turns screen off since it detects its native action first. Am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Even "hold" sometimes activate native action / display off.

Is Bixbi app setup correctly as stated in setup?
Is power button set to open Bixbi? (see FAQ for details)
Its recommended to connect phone to PC once and start remapping over PC to unlock full potential. Takes less than a minute.

Yeah I did. So it won't fix my issue eather.
So what should I do? Every time I try hold the button to go back it might go back but it turn the screen off aswell
And if I double press to flashlite, it will turn on flash lite and for some reason go to lockscreen so basically it does screen of and instantly screen on. Judging by this it really also register the power button native action as well no matter what I do.
Ps. Is there even a slim chance single press will be programmable later?
Hi gang,
With the release of stock Android 11 for our Pixel 2 XL, I don't find a way to do a generic screenshot anymore.
With previous releases, I could long-press the power button and taking a screenshot was one of the options. Not anymore...
The brand new bottom-up drag gesture does bring a screenshot option, but it is for one the open tasks and not the current home screen.
Am I missing something ?

you could also add a screenshot tile. its way better easier and saves wear on the buttons. theres a few on the playstore. this one is great but it requires root.
You can also, "Hit square icon at the bottom, then tap on screenshots" . Make sure you choose which screen you want to screenshot.
