UK Three users - question - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
I'm on the official v10g available on three. Did anyone of you flashed the latest available version available for D855 (I believe it's v10j or 10k)? How does it work? Did you exerienced any kind of issues using unbranded firmware?
Forgot to mention I'm rooted.

I have been using v10j since it came out.
I have no issues and it is the best one for me.
I went straight from v10a at the time, rooted and soon after flashed v10j.
I can't compare to the official v10g because I have never used it.
I wouldn't bother with v10k vodaphone firmware as I have only read mixed reviews with regards to it.

Hello friend
I am in Chennai, India.
But i am still in 10a version.
I dont see further update, still shows 10a is the latest firmware.
I have tried via both in OTA and through LG mobile support tool.
Both are telling 10a is the latest.
I don't know what to do!

Took my phone to service centre yesterday to get my charger changed. Since that guy was nice, i saw in his panel if they got beta kk for us and even they got 10a software with them.
That's initial version. Maybe you'll get it. I updated mine a few weeks back via ota (new delhi, reliance gsm)

I can only answer in regards to the LG updates, as I have the T-Mobile variant and am unsure with the D855.
With root, you can still accept and download LG updates that are for LG apps and so forth, as you'll see them pop up in the Settings menu.
Ok so system updates fro. LG is not aproblem

But you won't be able to install OTA firmware updates while rooted, if you try it will give an error and it will just go back to normal like before you tried to update.
You can download official firmware KDZ files and update manually by using a flash tool. All relevant help with regards to doing this is in various threads on the forum.

G3 Rooting

Hey folks,
I hope I'm posting this in the right area, but here goes: I got myself an LG G3 back in November, and just recently saw someone with a 5.0 update on their phone. I also learned that we have the update here in Canada, but our amazing phone carriers are holding out on us. So, I would like to ask for help in rooting and updating my phone to the new Rom as I know next to nothing about the process, though I did follow a guide here a few years back The phone was originally a Roger's phone and I unlocked it to work with Virgin. Thanks all.
Any takers?

For installing a new rom (via kdz) you do not need to root your phone.

Really? That's awesome! But I would like to root it and play around with some extra functions so I could learn. What's kdz?
EDIT: I wanna note that I've heard a bit about "stumping" but I know nothing of what it is, so if anyone could shed some light for me, I'd appreciate it.
Hey guys.
Somebody know if it Is posibble to root Lg d855?
Android 5.0 lollipop

LOL. And can someone help this person here too?

Hundreds of posts regarding rooting. 5.0
Can't be done. You must revert to kit Kat via kdz or tot. Root. Then install custom recovery and install a "bumped" lollipop rom
I'm already on kitkat atm. Tbh I'm not so hot into the root function, I just want to update the rom if it improves battery life, and utilizes the quad HD better.

D855 not updating to v30b

It's a D855 16GB model. I cannot update it to v30b. It says that the latest software version is v21a. How do I install the Marshmallow update?
Thanks...
If you lived at Poland, you will get the notification. If not, flash .kdz is your solution.
