[Q] Will CM11 unlock my M8? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an HTC One M8 on AT&T running CyanogenMod 11. I'm getting ready to switch to Verizon and I was wondering if CyanogenMod unlocked it. When it was running Sense I couldn't access APNs or network operators but I can now. So is it unlocked? If not, how do I unlock it?

[Q] SIM unlock with engineering bootloader S=OFF?

Hey guys,
I am not new to XDA or HTC devices, just this phone. I recently came from the HTC Glacier (MyTouch 4G) on T-Mobile and got the incredible 2.
I would like to know a little about the Engineering bootloader on this device and if it allows the sim lock to be removed. On my other htc phone, the engineering bootloader allowed this, giving access to any carrier sim card.
The incredible 2 is a global phone and allows access to T-Mobile's 3g network if the sim is unlocked. What do you guys know about this, if I root, enable s=off, flash engineering bootloader and custom recovery, then flash a custom rom and enter the APN for T-Mobile, am I good to go, or is there some more complex thing I am missing?
Any advice would be much appreciated
uh cool... thanks guys
If you don't have a contract with verizon you will have to pay for unlock the phone, there are a couple sites that they unlock you devise for a couple $$$.

From my limited understanding, it is possible to unlock the SIM with s-off and rooted, but you need to run a sense-based rom; SkyRaider Zeus is one. You then need the SIM unlock code which people report they get for free by calling Verizon or online anywhere from $7 on up.
And my limited understanding is the result of reading/searching this and other fora the past couple days.

Unlocked HTC One X?

I have my unlocked phone turned on AT&T does that restrict me from using roms, kernels, and root method from this forum?
Thanks for any direction. I had an root on my last to EVOs and I miss it.

unlocked what, sim, bootloader?
Im guessing when you say unlocked you mean the device is not tied to any carrier?
If your phone is not the AT&T branded version then all the methods for rooting and flashing roms and kernels will work for you as far as I am aware.
The AT&T version has been rooted now as well.
is anyone working on a software unlock for the att htc one x, so that the phone can be use on tmobile. tried many unlock site to get the code, none are available.

[Q] Which LG G# comes with unlocked bootloader?

I am an AT&T subscriber and in the market for an LG G3. The AT&T version comes with a locked bootloader which means I will probably never be able to install a custom recovery and flash CyanogenMod on it which is a must for me. I realize that other versions will not work with AT&T LTE and I am completely fine with just HSDPA+ - which versions of the phone support AT&T HSDPA+ and come with unlocked bootloader?

Thank you. Does it come network unlocked? I.e. can I put my AT&T sim in and use it?

No, but I've heard of getting unlock codes for as little as $6 on Ebay.
Plus Tmo is rumored to start a new thing soon where they put an unlock app either on the phone itself or on the Play Store and you can unlock it right there.
You'd want to get the Tmo version, though, because it's fully compatable with AT&T's LTE bands.

HTC One VZW on T-Mobile / 4G LTE (flash radio, rom, kernal)? Will it work?

Hi All,
I have a VZW HTC ONE M7 with 4.4.3 unlocked bootloader, rooted and TWRP recovery.
I want to use this on T-Mobile 4G / LTE but the bands are locked by Verizon.
My question is, can I flash a T-Mobile Radio only or do I need the ROM, Kernal and try to flash to work on TMO 4G LTE?
I've looked around on the forums and no one has really tried this having an unlocked bootloader, recovery and rooted.
Thank you

there is quite a bit of info for t-mobile users using verizon phones, iirc
t-mobile radio, not sure
but since s-off u can flash a ROM by say team venom which supports multiple carriers.
or find a t-mobile ROM
from my 5 min google search it seems getting sms/mms apn will be your biggest issue
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=how+to+use+verizon+htc+one+on+t-mobile
It will work, but down side is no matter what you do you will not get 4g.... Ever.
Good question, but belongs in the Q&A thread.

HI
Ok the Q&A thread is not really covering this subject. Since I'm S-Off, unlocked bootloader and rooted on 4.4.3, I am hoping to get 4G on the Verizon HTC one. Apparently the developers edition will allow for it but from what I read, the LTE / 4G bands have been locked down by Verizon.
With an unlocked bootloader, S-Off and rooted with recovery, my question is can i just flash a tmobile radio, rom or both to get this to work on Tmobile with 4g data? Right now out of the box its on edge.
Thank you all for your support

Your thread is now located in the Q&A section.
Thank you.
They aren't locked down. Our radio doesn't support those bands altogether.
In essence we don't have the hardware to get AWS LTE.

[Q] M8 Verizon is the same as Unlocked?

Hi there.
I am being offered the M8 for a great price. Thing is, it's the Verizon one.
I was wondering:
1. Is it unlocked?
2. Does it have a Verizon-rom (with bloat)?
3. Can I flash it and make it just like the unlocked version?
THANK YOU!!!!

As far as I know, Verizon locks their phones, and if the phone is on 5.0.1 there is currently no way to unlock it. Sunshine is working on it but no eta.

1. All Verizon LTE phones are factory unlocked. The M8 from Verizon is factory unlocked.
2. Yes! it does have a verizon htc one m8 specific rom
3. Reg the flashing of the phone to a GSM version, No you cannot make it stock GSM(unlocked phone) like but you can definitely root(after bootloader unlock using HTC dev) and get rid of bloat from the stock rom or flash a custom ROM. But you cannot make it just like the unlocked version.
Thx Vriship!!!!
So if I do all of that, what makes it different than the stock unlocked version?

Radio's are different. Not all Custom Roms will be working for verizon variant.
If you just remove the Verizon bloat by rooting, it will be closest to the stock unlocked version but some network handling apps will remain different due to verizon being CDMA and uncloked version being GSM.
You can't unlock a Verizon m8 with HTC dev
