Has anyone thought of trying Nexus Media Importer to enable USB storage without root??

[Q] USB playback with a Honda CR-V?

My wife's got a fancy CR-V has a USB connector to allow you to play music via USB. Works fine with the iPhone, but when I connect my Nexus I keep getting unsupported USB. I've tried all the different modes for the USB connection. The manual doesn't say that it only works with an iPhone so I was hoping there is a way around it Anyone have any suggestions?
Thats because SGN doesn't support USB mass storage mode due to it lacking a separate SD card.
Might want to check if crv supports Bluetooth audio.

[Q] Can I change the mount point of OTG USB storage connected to my Nexus?

Does anyone know if it's possible, and if so, how to change the mount point of a USB flash drive connected via OTG cable?
Alternatively, does anyone know how to get the stock music app to add the usbStorage folder to the media library?
I have all my music on this USB stick and can't get the music app to add it to the library when I connect it. I have too much music to fit in the Nexus storage space.
No-one has any idea how to do this???

[Q] Disable MTP?

Hi,
is it possible to disable the MTP connections automatically established when pluging the Nexus in?
I wouldn't want a public computer I might connect my Nexus to for charging to be able to read my storage.
I know I can switch it to camera, but that's just a workaround. With "normal" Android devices (with an sd-card), you always need to hit "enable usb mass storage", it would be nice if there were some option like that in the Nexus.

Thanks!
How does that affect the MTP, though? Still possible? How about adb or any other kind of connectivity?

[Q] Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) via OTG?

Trying out my OTG cable, and I happen to see that OTG isn't inherently supported, but all of the workarounds seem to be mass storage.
Anyway to get my USB DAC to work on the Nexus 7?

USB mass storage?

Hello, it appears USB mass storage isn't supported by Windows anymore.
There are third party apps that enables USB mass storage on galaxy devices such as Galaxy S4 (I am using one with USB mass storage)
My question is, are there any existing apps that can enable USB mass storage on the new Galaxy Tab S?
Transferring media files such as 1080p films over MTP is proving to be a painful.
Thanks

Use a USB SD reader. You have to unmount and remove SD card, but it's probably faster.

Is that the same to say that there are no USB mass storage support at the moment, or will there never be USB mass storage support because of physical limitations on the device?
I know that previous devices that used to support USB mass storage had that function deleted due to a firmware upgrade, but does USB mass storage still exist on these new pads? If so, I can come back and check every once in a while because a USB SD card reader is a temporary solution, since eventually, we would all prefer to transfer files without the need of additional accessories..
At some point I'll be adding it into my SkyHigh kernel for 8.4". Was quite a successful addition to my Note 3 kernel.

UMS is not USB-OTG
UMS is a faster depreciated method of transferring files between PC and device external storage via USB cable.

UMS (USB Mass Storage) mode is now in SkyHigh kernel for 8.4 " T700 and T705 Exynos devices only.
